@adrian4578 That's true. During the civil war shortage Some Americans ate dog meat. That's supposed to be the origin of the term hot dogs. But when White Fang novel became a huge hit in the late 1800's the idea of eating dog meat became repulsive so the term was not used until in the 1900's as a reference to a baseball snacks.
Researchers cannot exactly say how Hot Dog originated but officially attributed it to Baseball rather than the Civil war Shortage. Truth will come out somed
