"Ben" is the theme song from a movie of the same title from around 1971. Ben was a rat. The movie was about a lonely boy and his friendship with the rat. I saw it when I was a kid. We saw it because of the song, I think. MJ is not in the movie. The kid is a white kid. I don't remember much about it.

A moral dilemma for Michael Jackson fans. I can watch him sing,especially in the older ones and he's spectacular! When this song came out I recall sleeping with my transistor radio under my pillow and being awakened in the middle of the night to hear this song and hearing that it was Michael Jackson. It didn't go main stream for a few weeks after that middle of the night airing. I thought I dreamt it up for a while. His voice is so pure.
At the time, this song was about so many things. And it still is. MJ had such presence. The fact that his Dad was such a strong personality and he still expressed himself so creatively is impressive.
So many so called young acts have tried to emulate Michael's sound; the Donny Osmond and New Edition to name a couple, but none of them had the purity of voice that Michael had. So unique! Childlike but pure! What an amazing talent. Never duplicated and more than likely never will be!

When this song came out I recall sleeping with my transistor radio under my pillow and being awakened in the middle of the night to hear this song and hearing that it was Michael Jackson. It didn't go main stream for a few weeks after that middle of the night airing. I thought I dreamt it up for a while. His voice is so pure.

At the time, this song was about so many things. And it still is. MJ had such presence. The fact that his Dad was such a strong personality and he still expressed himself so creatively is impressive.

So many so called young acts have tried to emulate Michael's sound; the Donny Osmond and New Edition to name a couple, but none of them had the purity of voice that Michael had. So unique! Childlike but pure! What an amazing talent. Never duplicated and more than likely never will be!

i really think michael never really knew how loved and famous he really was. he never really understood what he really meant to the world. he never stopped growing, even on his hard days, michael never stopped being the greatest artist ever. if only he knew at this age who he was going to become years. maybe he could of done something different and still be alive. i miss my angel...
