  • coooooooooool

  • Its hard to beat our old lan shindigs playing IL-2 3 on 3 or all vs all. Id love to get back into flight sims!

  • how about a jet fighter cockpit video?

  • LOL

  • Hey Roger i got a question Is that Game like Aces High 2? Just wondering because the grahpics seem like it alot

  • Il2 1946 :)

  • i like FS... BUT my PC is SHIT and cant play em :( i got FSX

  • try increasing the target FPS in settings to "unlimited" or "infinite" and also download and install the service pack 1 and 2 (google "fsx sp1/2") without service packs it plays shit even on powerfull systems when you make it look decent, if you still have problems just set all the options the "minimal" settings and slowly push the settings up untill you have a good balance between looks and smoothness =)

    hope I helped

  • dude try fs9 it will surely run smoothly on your laptop.

  • do u need a stick for this game

  • lol never ever fly thirsty! lol

  • Yeah, until you go upside-down and spill the it all over your instruments. Oops.

  • He's NUTS but I like him :)

  • Cool, this good, nice job.

  • maniac....

  • this is nice, but kinda overdoing what the game was meant for..

  • Have you spent a lot of time flying real airplanes? In other words, do you really know what the flight simulator is trying to simulate?

  • okay, sorry, but I just heard it from some other guy..

  • @HBSfromMsia hahah obviously hasn't done his research

  • @HBSfromMsia haha simple minded.... first of all its not a game its a simulator.... and a simulators job is to SIMULATE the real life experience.... think before you comment next time

  • "lets go shoot down some Nazis...." lmfao..this is awesome

  • Hey, I never met someone who, like me, is as pumped to enjoy some flying AND a beverage of choice! lol Way to go guy. RJ

  • this is cool

  • all those things and no rudder petalls? hah nice video almost made me laugh

  • Yes, my friend, rudder pedals are important! We feel so strongly about the value of rudder pedals that me made a video dedicated to rudder pedals. Check our video called "DIY Flight Sim Rudder Staythere"

  • haha you are the man ! (Y) you have some fun there with yourself play flight sim.

  • do u need joysticks and stuff to acutaly play fligt sims can u use mouse and keyboard?

  • Maniac :)

  • shoot nazis? Damne.. you think each German Luftwaffe pilot was a nazi? This is poor... very poor

  • True. I regret that comment.

  • I am not angry, but i hate stereotyping

I am german, so i really hate stereotyping^^

it's okay, but too many died in this war to make jokes on it

  • Anyway, to my point: not all Luftwaffe pilots were Nazi's in WWII - many of these pilots were professional pilots before Hitler came to power - they just inherited the War.

That's a relatively unknown fact: I think it's admirable that he's only going to shoot down Nazis and not non-Nazi Luftwaffe... But how does he know? ;)

  • I've gotta play devils advocate here and mention that the Luftwaffe were in the employ of the Nazis... But still, not many non-Germans know that the word Luftwaffe is a generic term for "Airforce".

However, the word Nazi refers to "National Socialism"; people who adhere to the policies and practices of the Adolf Hitler. It is generally accepted that Nazis were the bad guys in World War II. Not all Germans were Nazi's, but all Nazi's were in fact, German-it was a Nationalist party. (more)

  • Everyone: Buy the CH Yoke and Rudder pedals! They are worth every penny!

  • Everyone: Buy the Saitek yoke and rudder pedals! They are worth every penny! Better adaptability! Better range of motion! Better feel!

  • i agree with senorspode saitek is the best

  • got um, there awesome!

  • Ordered my CH yoke yesterday Should be here monday :D :D :D :D looks great and i will definitly try out everything you got go set up ;) the keyboard Ch yoke and in july ( mky birthday) the rudder pedals great vid man good job !

  • what plane is in 2:32 part of the video

  • That's a P-51D Mustang.

  • thanks

  • lmao this guy is funny 'lets make a spreadsheet blah blah blah' looks good though!

  • where uu get Contorlers like that???

  • the name of the manufacturer is CH Products

  • Saitek rules the virtual skies! w00t!

  • yeah, i have a saitekst290 pro. its aweseome. i have il2 1946 too

  • That guy sure has some cool controlers.

  • You're ready to shoot down some Nazis now! lol

  • Can one throttle control all of the throttle in the game?

  • Yes for all the games we've seen in the past several years.

  • can you tell me what game that is thanks the war game

  • IL2 Forgotten Battles with Ace Expansion Pack

  • do u think i could get one at walmart? and if not think i could buy one off you

  • Did you try amazon dot com? We're only selling DIY downloads at this time.

  • i also got an idea for your joystick maby if you wanted it more realistic you should custamize it to the center im looking at your photos and i was thinking that i should build one can you tell me how much it cost

  • Please click the video description for more information. Click where it says (more) for full details and link to our webpage.

  • if i had 5 million dollars, i would buy you a WWII warbird. id pay 4 flight school 2. but till then, the flight sims should do.

  • Hey, I loved this video: One question. The yokes that you buy have a really bad little throttle. On Flight Simulator 2004, can you use a Seperate throttle and yoke? I'm not sure if it would work and I need advice!

  • Affirmative! Actually we don't use the stubby little throttle on the yoke, we use a throttle quadrant. Ch Products sells a throttle quadrant and Saitek also offers a new type of throttle quadrant too.

  • which control is that?

  • Hello, If I have Microsft flight simulator X, is it supposed to take a long time to load every new flight?

I also have rudder pedals but don't know how to use them. Can you explanin what they are needed for?

  • watch this guys video called DIY flight sim rudder stay there

  • mine also takes a long time to load up, it can take up to 3 minutes on the lowest possible graphics. HELP!

  • hey i saw a really cool idea on that video were u were talking about 100 people joining your club or somethin and i saw a ch yoke in that video in the end and u came up with the coolest idea, i noticed the throttle prop and mixture were painted and i really want to do that. i found out the just the grey parts of the levers pop off and do u think it would be a good idea to spray paint them or would that ruin them?

  • Do it! You will like it! Pop off the grey lever tops and paint them. Throttle is black, Prop is blue and Mixture is red.

  • dude i got them painted and they look so freakin coooooool and it is so much better than all grey levers. thanks for the idea

  • dude i really need a big favor from u. i got a ch yoke and rudder pedals for christmas but i have a problem with the yoke. since my desk is so skinny, the clamps on the bottom of the yoke cant really reach the bottom of my desk when the base part just sits on top of my desk. can u make a video or somethin to make a solution to that?

  • That is a good idea for a video. Have you tried using a 1 foot length of 1x1 board? We had some success by putting the 1x1 board under the edge of the desk, which effectively made it wider. Then we clamped the yoke onto the desk and board. If the base of the yoke wiggles or slides a little, you may choose to secure the 1x1 board with a couple of wood screws.

  • well actually ive been using the box for my fsx package but i was wanting to use something stronger because i was worried that i would end up clamping the yoke on to tight that it would crack the box, but then i just finally decided to use one of my moms old books for now but a piece of wood is a good idea

  • I have the same issue and solved it a few years ago by just using a piece of lumber 2" wide by a foot or so. I set the yoke directly on the table and clamp the lumber to the bottom of the table with the Yoke clamps. Works great@

  • You have very nice Simulator...

  • Thank you! We will continue to develop Do-It-Yourself videos and manuals to help people around the world build and enjoy their own flight simulators.

  • your wild

  • youre ready to shoot down some Nazis!!! ROTFLMAO

  • were u get yolk and for how much?

  • hey when you got your yoke did you have to program any of the buttons or were they already programed for you? aslo did you have to do the same thing with your rudder pedals or were they already programed to?

  • On my systems, FS2004 and FSX recognized the CH products controls and assigned commands to them.

  • well thats good but kinda wierd because ive heard that you have to program the differential braking on the rudder pedals yourself

  • You can assign any control function through the "Controls" menu in flight simulator. It's easy.

  • hahah niice..

  • howsit man, what do you think of the dream flyer?

  • It's pretty fun, I got to try it out at AirVenture-Oshkosh.

  • Haha...you sure are enjoying yourself aren't you.

  • how much is the regular yoke??

  • you should be able to find one between $100 and $130 US dollars.

  • Nice cockpit!!! I really like the one with the wheel yoke, where can I find one like that? Thanks!! Maxdogit

  • Thanx! The yoke is just a regular CH Yoke.

  • Thanks for the info!!!! And also looks like ya got some terrific Frame Rates on your system!!! Blue Skies Always!!!! Max

  • wow that pretty nice

  • u have the same keyboard as me

  • Idiotisch dumm ihr leute!!!!

  • im ready to shoot down nazies!

  • im ready to shoot down nazies!

  • oh roger....

  • yeah, great video indeed. Great Flight SYSTEM if I can call it that way or another, it is good after all. great vid.

  • Roger,

    Got to love your enthusiasm!

  • ... lets make a spreadsheet...LOL were u playing the WWII version of FS? it looked good whatever u were playing shooting planes!

  • thanks!........it was just IL2 Forgotten Battles

  • Will this work plugged into a Mac laptop?

  • That's a good question. We generally use CH Products game controllers and common off-the shelf USB keyboards & mouse. You would probably have a question of Mac compatibility with each manufacturer of each device.

  • could you please think of somthing like an over head panel :) thank u

  • Will do! We're almost done with the PACS (Portable Air Combat Simulator), the overhead panel project is next.

  • Thanks for all you doing for flighsim nation !! I made this desktop panel and got a brand new feeling from whole flying.. Please keep doing your great work !!

  • Awesome vid.

Thanks to you I have brainstormed some ideas.

    Thanks Roger Dodger

  • You are welcome!

We believe that you will develop even more ideas if you buy the Do-It-Yourself video and manual. You can order from anywhere in the world and download instantly!

  • thank you

  • that makes me jelous...u hav evry thing t 4 a flight sim!! loll i onli gt the joystick...and what army game was that please tell me!

  • Thanx! The game is just IL2 + Ace Expansion Pack

  • ok thank you i really like how you set up the control panel and steering wheel 4 normal aircrafts and the fighter pilots joystick and throttle! lool juss soo good...the most simplist but wicked-est:S lol...home cockpit for a computer not complicated loool...u went a bit spaz at the end but hey lol..nice vid

  • Hey man from the UK. This is really cool! :D wish we had the hardware that you guys have in the US. Awesome vid!

  • We want to create projects that people all over the world can build. Some upcoming projects will be made from plastic plumbing pipe and expanded polystyrene (foam) insulation. Are those things available at hardware stores in the UK?

  • yes rodger they are. i have fsx n a logitech 12 button joystick with z axis but when i turn z axis it either turns too much or not enough how do i get it to work properly

  • While I don't have that model, it sounds expensive, and the expensive ones usually come with calibration software which allows you to adjust the 'sensitivity' and 'dead zone' (things you may already know). The dead zone refers to how much uneffected movement it has before it begins to cause something to happen; yaw, pitch, roll, or throttle up/down. I hope that helps.

  • hi there, cool simple idea's im sold. looks easy and dpes not cost allot. and look like would make simin lots my fun then we a joy stick. i will order mine soon.

    jim from WI

  • well i already have a small idea, worked out on paper.. now need to make it though, and then hope it works, ill let you know if it works, and maybe take a video/photo of it

  • nice video, great idea!

    gonna make that i think

hehe, if you got ALOT of keyboards you can

    make an entire overhead-panel

but guess ill start with one :P

  • Glad you like the video and DIY idea. You can use several keyboards, but any one key can only be assigned to one command. For example, if you assign "A" to a command, the computer will recognize "A" no matter which keyboard you press. So it won't let you assign "A" to flaps on one keyboard and "A" for gear on a different keyboard.

  • We will do some thinking on the overhead panel idea, and see if we can come up with something for you.

  • can you use this joystick with flight sim 2004?

  • Absolutely! Everything in the video works with Flight Sim 2004.

  • ok thanks!!

  • "Lets make a spread sheet, blah blah blah!" Great!

  • you are funny :). Nice setup!

  • very enthusiastic! great vid

  • Zany :D

  • I loved it when you said:"lets kick the tires and light the fires. . . . clear!"

    Good video.!

  • You forgot the rudder petals!

Oh well. I LOVED the video. Especially when you looked out your imaginary window and yelled "CLEAR!" The energy, enthusiasm, and silliness is what made it great!

Mark Zinkel - Getting training in 48 days!!!!!!

  • Excellent point! Rudder pedals are a vital part of any quality flight simulator. I could go on and on about the importance of rudder pedals....and I will, in a different video.

    Glad you enjoyed the video!

  • Ok! We posted a new video on how desktop pilots can enhance their flight simulator enjoyment with a simple modification to the CH Products rudder pedals.
