I saw this on silverscreamgrl's video and she had a link to yours where she got the recipe so I thought I'd check yours out too. Love the recipe! I'm definintely going to give it a try. We just got a vitamix that can make soup so I thought I'd try my variation on it when I get the ingredients. Thanks for the idea:-) Nora & Chip
I jumped over here from Beth's vid to see what goes in it, and it looks like a lethally yummy combination! I think I'm gonna have to try it.
Side note... I thought I subbed to you clear back in October. Either it didn't stick, or I've lost more brain cells than I thought. Guess this explains why I haven't been seeing any of your vids, huh...
Looks awesome as always the hot dip is great. I make something that is similar easy and more summer one that people die for. Especially my hubs. It had green onions in it which I can't eat in anyway shape or form so I always just save a little out for me without but know they make the dip. It to is bacon bits. Sometime when I make it I show it.
I have NO idea how I missed this. Did it not get put in my sub center? Grrr. And I specifically asked you to make this video. So now I feel very rude.
ANYWAY!! Do you really think it needs to cook for 1-1/2 to 2 hours? That seems overly much?
I may actually go run to the store and get some of the bread. I have the rest of the ingredients. I will have to do it before dark or the firework people will be IN THE STREETS
Nope, I didn't end up making it. I realized it would take a while for the cream cheese to soften. The sun had gone down, so it would take twice as long for stuff to soften. So I am either going to attempt it tomorrow or Sunday.
Thanks for letting me know about the time. It sounded so incredibly long..like what you'd cook a meatloaf, but it really does make sense. It's a dense amount of goodness in there!!
Yum! I have had it with shredded spinach and freshly grated Parmesan instead of cheddar. Either way, good stuff. Hey, by the way, we got a lot of compliments on the nutmeg meringue cookies. I made them a little too big though, so there was a lot of damage in transit. Live and learn, eh?
I learned that the meringues should be eaten pretty much same day I think. They crumble very easily and do not ship well at all, I also found that out. The crumbs would be tasty though.
People will love it, I guarantee it. It also stays warm for quite a while on the snack table if you bake it for the full two hours. And even after it is cool, it still tastes good.
this looks wonderful love how you share all your new party finds with us. My husband is ill and I couldnt party this Christmas . Now I feel that at least there are some good recipes I didnt miss.
looks great Tammy, and actually, not that difficult! I like it in the bread as a bowl...that way you don't leave your tupperware or other bowls someplace besides home! LOL
You're a great cooker, You should open up a shop some day.

does it have to be mayonnaise (eww) could i use heavy cream and salt..
taintedlovergirl 1 month ago
@taintedlovergirl You can try whatever you want, don't know if it would be too thin and runny (eww) with the cream.

what a cool idea to hollow out the boat and put the dip inside!
LoveMyPhilly 2 years ago
This does make for a very nice presentation and as the dip get lower, guests can break off pieces of the dip covered "bowl".
Cream cheese is a wonderful thing. :)

I thought the exact same thing when I saw the 1.5-2 hour thing! Too long!
BUT....
I baked mine for 1 hour and the cheese was barely warm in the center. I think the bread acts as an insulator and keeps the heat out for a while.
Did you end up making it?
