Too bad the z06 was modded. Intake and tune and im pretty sure the exhaust was done a bit too. Sounds like it and who would do that to a motor and woudnt make it breath better. Stock to stock would have been better...
@05gt5 Yes but the intake and tune didn't see anything about exhaust , helps get even with the fords power , i guess the corvette needs less on the straight because of the 300 pounds or so less, also i can see the ford having more down force than the corvette so that will make a difference in the straight line but around the track the ford can redeem itself im sure. Ford GT has 43/ 57% of the weight on the back unlike the corvettes 50/50
both cars are amazing in their own ways. the c6 zo6 because it has great value per hp and the gt because that car was built to piss off the Italians back in its hay day. and now the gt is absolutely stunning to look at.

The GT is just a fantastic looking car. I'm a fan of the vette as well. The vette is and always will be the original american sports car, but man---that GT is just about the sickest looking car ever! Hope Ford comes out with another generation of the GT.

@MusicMasterJames While I agree with this whole heartedly, I must let you know, the car in the video is a Ford GT, and I didn't mention the Ford GT40. While both are awesome, the Ford GT-X1 is the one I'd go for most.
Its easy to spot who actually likes cars for what they are in threads like this. Any reasonable car guy would understand EXACTLY why the Ford GT is considered by many to be the greatest American supercar ever built, regardless of it it beats a ZR1 around a track. With the Z06, you get some awesome performance for the price, no doubt there. With the GT, you get nearly the same performance, in a car that caries far more nostalgia. Plus, Ford GT's have only ever went UP in their value.
Hope you know the 2010 ZR1 runs 11.2-11.4 1/4mi and the Z06 from 2008-2010 runs 11.50-11.70 lol. The Z06 engine is far superior than the ZR1 engine and Z06 has over 100hp less and is still within .3 tenths in 1/4mi!!! The Z06 is engineered far far better...how many ZR1's blow up at the track compaired to C6Z06s??? I've seen 2 ZR1s blow and heard of many. I never seen a Z06 blow in stock form and dont know ne1 that has!...Also the Z06 ate the ZR1 up in road coarse. Get ur facts right homo nig

@zacheryds Ford doesn't have a thing to do with the building of the GT1000. Stock vs stock the ZR1 is faster. Not to mention Nelsons ZR1 would walk away from a GT1000. GT is still my favorite car though.
@iPROFITDON Also, 2004-2006 stock vs stock the GT is faster. The car was designed for winning a lap race, not a quarter mile drag (the fact that it tops out stock at 212 mph and has a longer power stroke confirms it's designation as an endurance racer). The ZR1, introduced in 2009 WILL beat the 2006 GT in a quarter mile, but not the 2006-2007 C6/Z06. But outside of the quarter mile, a GT will win because of it's high end torque and better suspension to accommodate top speed and lap races.
@twbgx2 Unfortunantly with a imaculate driver the Z06 hovers around low 11's the ZR1 high 10's. Around a track the Ford GT is indeed faster than the Z06 but not the ZR1 in any way. But then it shouldn't be, 09 vs 06. Actually i don't believe the GT is faster than the ZR1 anywhere except very top speed, and the ZR1 will beat it there.
@iPROFITDON Actually a Viper has never won the LeMans, Oreca had them entered in the competition, but it was Oreca's Mazda 787 that won. Saleen did not win last year either. Audi North America did (with a TDI Audi R10). Gas cars no longer win the LeMans, it's all diesel now. Review the list of 24 Hours of LeMans winners to see for yourself. Ford is the only American automaker to win LeMans, however, their car the GT Mk II was designed and built in the UK.

The Vette has more power and will win in a straight line.The GT is a better pure cornering performance car.But the real difference is looking at the cheap plastic inside the vette (looks just like any other GM car) then look at the craftsmanship of the GT.There's no comparison.Heck just push on the rear bumper cover of a vette and watch it move 4 inches. I give the vette props for performance but the GT is soo much better in all around quality, makes the vette seem like a 30k car not 100k
@Chk6666S not really,the interior is ok,cadillac interior is really nice and the zr1 did pretty good around the Nürburgring so the vette can around the corners real well,actually its consider more of a track car than anything,so yea it does feel more like a 100k and with its performance,no one can complain.
Have you ever driven a GT or a Z06? If you had you'll notice just how awful the vette's interior is and how back breaking the suspension is. Most of the cheapest kia's on the road have quieter interiors as well. And before you ask, yes I've driven both and there is absolutely no comparison in craftsmanship. Actually, just read a review. They basically all say the same thing. Props to the power but the rest of the car is cheap as shit. You must be an obama motors fan boy..

It is that bad in ride, handling, and all around craftsmanship compared to anything else remotely in that price range.And for 8K I'd put a TT kit on the GT and have a 1000hp car that is faster and better handling than almost any other car on the planet. It's why the GT holds the standing mile record

The GT's sticker price has always been 125k. Fully loaded it was just shy of 140k (wheels/stripes/color package) They produced the car as a collector's item and as a throwback to what won Leman's. That's why used one's are fetching upwards of 200k. Like I said, if performance in a straight line are all you care about then get a vette. If you care about quality of the car and overall package get a GT. I could care less about your age, you don't even know when the vette came out
And the ZR1 was almost a full 2 seconds behind the GT on the TG track. All that power and the vette still has a leaf spring suspension, which every car critic in the world still agrees is awful for ride and handling. What's sad is you compare a sports car to a super car and even think they are in the same league. To bad the GT still holds the standing mile record. And you've yet to answer the question if you've driven either a GT or a ZR1. If you've driven both you'd know exactly what I was talking about. The ZR1 has as much road noise as a pos kia. The interior is cheap plastic and the steering wheel is taken directly from a malibu. You can push the rear plastic bumper cover 4" in with a press of your finger. A 20k V-6 mustang has a better interior, ride, and all around build quality that a vette. Thanks again for showing ur ignorance

@05gt5 Yes but the intake and tune didn't see anything about exhaust , helps get even with the fords power , i guess the corvette needs less on the straight because of the 300 pounds or so less, also i can see the ford having more down force than the corvette so that will make a difference in the straight line but around the track the ford can redeem itself im sure. Ford GT has 43/ 57% of the weight on the back unlike the corvettes 50/50

Its easy to spot who actually likes cars for what they are in threads like this. Any reasonable car guy would understand EXACTLY why the Ford GT is considered by many to be the greatest American supercar ever built, regardless of it it beats a ZR1 around a track. With the Z06, you get some awesome performance for the price, no doubt there. With the GT, you get nearly the same performance, in a car that caries far more nostalgia. Plus, Ford GT's have only ever went UP in their value.

Hope you know the 2010 ZR1 runs 11.2-11.4 1/4mi and the Z06 from 2008-2010 runs 11.50-11.70 lol. The Z06 engine is far superior than the ZR1 engine and Z06 has over 100hp less and is still within .3 tenths in 1/4mi!!! The Z06 is engineered far far better...how many ZR1's blow up at the track compaired to C6Z06s??? I've seen 2 ZR1s blow and heard of many. @iPROFITDON Also, 2004-2006 stock vs stock the GT is faster. The car was designed for winning a lap race, not a quarter mile drag (the fact that it tops out stock at 212 mph and has a longer power stroke confirms it's designation as an endurance racer). The ZR1, introduced in 2009 WILL beat the 2006 GT in a quarter mile, but not the 2006-2007 C6/Z06. But outside of the quarter mile, a GT will win because of it's high end torque and better suspension to accommodate top speed and lap races.

Ford is the only American automaker to win LeMans, however, their car the GT Mk II was designed and built in the UK.

The Vette has more power and will win in a straight line.The GT is a better pure cornering performance car.But the real difference is looking at the cheap plastic inside the vette (looks just like any other GM car) then look at the craftsmanship of the GT.There's no comparison.Heck just push on the rear bumper cover of a vette and watch it move 4 inches. I give the vette props for performance but the GT is soo much better in all around quality, makes the vette seem like a 30k car not 100k

Have you ever driven a GT or a Z06? If you had you'll notice just how awful the vette's interior is and how back breaking the suspension is. Most of the cheapest kia's on the road have quieter interiors as well. And before you ask, yes I've driven both and there is absolutely no comparison in craftsmanship. Actually, just read a review. It is that bad in ride, handling, and all around craftsmanship compared to anything else remotely in that price range.And for 8K I'd put a TT kit on the GT and have a 1000hp car that is faster and better handling than almost any other car on the planet. The GT's sticker price has always been 125k. Fully loaded it was just shy of 140k (wheels/stripes/color package) They produced the car as a collector's item and as a throwback to what won Leman's. That's why used one's are fetching upwards of 200k. Like I said, if performance in a straight line are all you care about then get a vette. If you care about quality of the car and overall package get a GT. I could care less about your age, you don't even know when the vette came out

And you've yet to answer the question if you've driven either a GT or a ZR1. If you've driven both you'd know exactly what I was talking about. The ZR1 has as much road noise as a pos kia. The interior is cheap plastic and the steering wheel is taken directly from a malibu. You can push the rear plastic bumper cover 4" in with a press of your finger. A 20k V-6 mustang has a better interior, ride, and all around build quality that a vette. Thanks again for showing ur ignorance

this vette in not moddfied and intake and a tune yea thats really modded it dont have no head work no headers no cam thats being modded and guess wat ppl i know sumone with a car like this and it dynoed stock at 420hp at the wheels and with just a tune it bumped it up to 460hp so yea wats the gt rated at 550 i think

@Curveball man i live in charlotte nc and at rick hendrick city chevy every single zr1 they had for sale was right there at 105grand i know around here they marked the price of the challenger way up they sold for over 40grand i mean i aint trying to argue with u by no means

No to all of the above, right? Ok. So you have no room to talk either. You like Corvettes, fine, I get that. I like the Ford GT. The Ford GT can, and has before (on multiple occasions), beat the z06 an ZR1 stock vs. stock.
