i built a ball valve cannon with a 2 inch pvc tank, a 3/4 inch ball valve, and a 1 1/2 pvc barrel. i shot it at a milk jug full of water at 60 psi and it destroyed it

I built a much stronger ball valve gun with an old firefighterbottle (sry im german) and a barell.

I built a trigger with a very strong spring pulling the ball valve , thats the reason vor the power!

I always shoot with 8 bar

How does the compressed air get into the chamber without having the piston block it?

the piston is not air tight it will let air both ways but when you release the air from behind it air cannot slip by fast enough therefore it slides back and the air must take an alternate route which just happens to be through the barrel

i have to say, i was looking for a little more power, even though your air compresser was a little out of whack, nut this was built very nicely and the fantastic part about it is it's LEGAL! WOOHOOO! :D

Well, I was expecting more power as well when considering my other piston cannons. Something to consider though, a piston valve works faster and faster at higher pressures. When I do higher pressure tests later you should be able to see a huge difference in power.

Being legal sure feels good doesn't it? At least federally. At a state/city/township level there might be some regulations on air cannons.

No, human cannons would use a slower valve. A fast valve such as this would surely kill anyone due to rapid acceleration.

I made an air gun, not piston. Its 2" air chamber down to 1/2" with a ball valve. I can use 1/2" pvc for the barrel or i can use a 1" piece for a barrel cuz i put a reducer on it to make it from 1/2" where the ball valve is to a 1" barrel
