What a damn mess we have today My grandmother who had a goodsize backyard Garden in the city of Atl. until she died in her late 80's would be arrested today for having a garden & living in the city today !
I just came back from wv, I took 19 south to beckley, what a site to see, I loved it, I blasted up the bluegrass from the local station and really got into the feel of it. I was on my way to florida, on the way back I booked a room in sutton, at the days inn, best hotel I've ever stayed at, the people were friendly, I'm from Toronto, this was a great experience.
@peeknockyo Who cares about them anyway? I hope you realize there was good reason to treat them like they weren't people. Like eating one another and so on. Better do your homework, kid. Question everything.
@gvman3670 hey fool, do you even know what the word "irony" means? :D without irony: you're a sick person to justify killing human beings. question everything... yeah right. white people stole the country from the indians, no matter what they ate or did, that's a fact. questioning things: guantanamo is a terrible place as well but nobody seems to care about that. wait another few years and the Chinese will kick your a** and your glorious history anyway.
@peeknockyo What an idiot! You can thank these fellowers for their contributions in WWII. If not ,you Germans would all be blue eyed blond headed Nazi killing machines who could care less. You Stay in Germany (with your leather hossen beer drinking) and we will take care of our traditions here in the United States. That work for you!
@bgrass11 thank's for calling me a beer drinking leather hosen idiot. that shows me that you are definetly not a racist... no doubt the us has contributed a lot to what germany has become but I think you guys had many racism issues with your black community as well... we shouldn't forget about that. so stop being so arrogant, also towards other countries in the third world. you guys listed nelson mandela as a terrorist until the late 90s, only that shows a lot about US politics...
@peeknockyo I say if the "shoe fits wear it." Again you started this, talking about our people! Stay out of our heritage and political stucture and deal with your own! You are not even old enough to remember the wall coming down , much less your ancestors killing 6 million Jews and anybody else that stood in their way. Those 2 old guys helped kick the Nazi's ass In Germany. Twice. So stay home and fix your own damn problems. And be glad you ain't marching funny!
America is being ruined by the unchecked greed of giant agribusiness corporations who will do whatever they can to avoid the unions and hire people who will work for almost nothing rather than pay a fair wage that would support a healthy middle class in this country.
Everyone take notice, America is being ruined because we're becoming over run with illegals and immigrants who don't care about America what so ever. My ancestors did not give their lives to make America into an anti-God sesspool full of crime. These right here are true Americans, the one who built this country.
@IommiFan70 It's sad, because these type of people are being rooted out slowly but surely. The old timers are dying off and kids now-a-days don't care about the old times or the way it was back when America was great. In middle America corn country they've got Mexicans who can't speak a word of English doing what these guys use to do. I do fear the future.
This is the way my dad made a livin in the land of Christy Del Rio east Tennessee rasin Tobacco..When I got about 15 years old I was cuttin seems everbody's Tobacco for them. Cut a lot of timber too raised a lot of corn and loved to go on the moss gathering runs. I grew up there in the Houston Valley up next to Wolf Creek....These times and the mountains have never left my mind as the best time on this planet for me.
This makes me think of the simpler times as a child when I was sheltered from the evil things in this world, and we focused on the important things. Makes me think of cutting tobacco in Greenup County for 6 cents a stick, and making 4 dollars an hour in the barn.Another boy told me:They're payin' 10 cent a stick, and 7 dollars an hour in Lexington"; I ended up in NIcholasville and have been their most of my life since then.
The documentary "High Lonesome: The Story Of Bluegrass Music" is brilliant and I love the way that you`ve made these excerpts into a stand alone clip.
More people need to know about how America used to be. The heartaches and suffering that this country went through. Maybe then they would quit their complaining about things today. And poor me. We are not as strong a country as back then. We need to come together as one.
