  • Been loving you since 1971

  • I love this song. My favourite version is the one he does with the Dobro on the Mudlark album.

  • @Pan3405 --yep, they're all great!!!!

  • Is Kottke playing in an unconventional tuning in this song?

  • How in the hell do you make a 12 string sound even remotely clean when playing slide? He never ceases to amaze me..

  • there is nothing that compares

  • nothing...righton!!!!

  • Yup, Kottke rules.

  • I love how he didn't know where he put his slide... I CAN RELATE!!

  • I'm sorry you're so sad cause obviously I was kidding...obviously Leo is an incredibly multi talented artist who I have the utmost respect for and obviously you're sadness is only eclipsed by you're cluelessness!!

  • this comment makes me very sad.

  • Holding a slide desn't make one sounds great.

No, I agree that his left hand isn't super difficult but I don't think you understand fingerpicking, my friend, his right hand is doing some great picking.

  • I totally agree. Leo's right hand technique is unique, unmistakable. It is virtually impossible to duplicate, even with TAB. IMO, there is no other acoustic fingerpicker who can recreate Leo's sound.

  • no, there is guy on on youtube, called kasink and is almost as good as leo in his covers. You should check him out.

  • that's right . it's all to do with the slide...

his fingers had nothing to do with it!

  • It takes a serious amount of talent for people to watch just a guitar player.

  • better than better

  • One of the worlds best fingerpickers. Fantastic

  • He takes blues, country, and pop and puts it in a microwave and forgets about it for a couple hours cuz he's daydreaming.

  • Where was Leo when he played this?

  • One of his weirder songs.

First time I heard it I thought "The hell? This sounds like Devo Unplugged, or something!"

Been a favorite of mine since I heard a friend of mine's old demo tapes for his first album(I'm not allowed to say who or where, so feel free to think I'm lying) which was recorded in his old cafe'.

Still my favorite Kottke album, that.
