One day I decided to speak only in quotes from this movie and the 1969 true grit at school...... My friends have fully accepted the fact that I'm not normal.
this movie is soo amazing i watched it when i was 6 or 7 but i watched ikt soo many times that my mom and dad ran to the other room whenever i brought out the movie :D it was incredible
I have forgotten how many funny moments were in this movie. It really gave it a unique touch! And Sissy Spacek was SOOO pretty in this movie. That was one time I think the Oscars got it right. However, at 5:02, one of the funniest moments got cut off! They are talking quietly about her having no wedding ring and that little kid sits sits up all of the sudden and says "BULL#%@^!" I usually do not think that a kid cussing is funny, but it worked here. Did YT make you take that scene out?
One of the absoulte best movies ever about the best singer EVER! <3 Loretta Lynn ( sadly I have never saw the whole movie, working on that though luckily the play it all the time on CMT)
"I cain't read this book, Doo. It's got all 'em great big ol' words in it. Now look here at this one. Look! That dadgum word is a foot long! Now what's a footlong word s'posed to mean, huh?"
This is one of my favorite movies,,Tommy Lee Jones deserved an Oscar for his performance and congrats Sissy on yours..Maybe time for Coal Miners Daughter 2 ?????
my favorite part is when doo's old boss gets murdered, and doo is telling his daddy that he wasn't working for him anymore. his daddy's comment is; 'at least you'd have been workin' for someone'
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Tommy Lee Jones hits her, treats her like a trash, raped her, sleeps with other women while they are married. And it looks like normal in this movie. Does a normal husband hit his wife or is unfaithful to her. Normal husband will never do this. Is Jone's character American National Treasure after this???? He looks like a savage, durty, uneducated, stupid nonentity. If you like or adore this character, you are either crazy or sadists.
Say what you want about Loretta's late husband, because it's true he wasn't perfect. And it does show that in this movie but not in this vid cause it's about funny moments. watch the movie again, cause it's there.I think you need to realize that Loretta says she has no regrets about their relationship and she loved him despite their hard times. She said "If I never met Doo, I would never have gotten out of Butcher Holler" They loved eachother, and that's the fact.
@Dorsai12 True to that. Everyone's relationship is different, and in the movie just as I bet as it was in real life, they grew even more together, which is what you are suppose to do. He could be hell on wheels, but he never denied his love for her. I remember she once said if he hadn't believed in her, she never would have made it.
I just saw this movie for the first time a few weeks ago. The on screen chemistry between sissy and tommy lee is so real and deep. All of actors were amazing. Just a fantastic movie.
"Your not supposed to put salt in chocolate pie" If that aint the cutest mistake and sweetest face. I had the biggest crush on Sissy Spacek when I was a kid.. How I loved her twang in this movie and her sweet red hair. And when she said "Iam gonna kick the taarr outta of you!"
=] i love when loretty chases that woman from doo's truck and calls her a woman pig!! good golly i love that part!! i started callin women I dont like sows now...lol!!

I can't believe the motel room scenes were left out.
BigOrangeTitan 3 years ago
I didn't think those parts were very funny.
YOu got the awkward wedding night in the motel when Doo forced Loretta to have sex and then they fought in the morning.
txcowgirl18 3 years ago 2
I didn't think they were either. It's sad, actually. First he forces himself on her, next day he slaps her.
but the scene where she reads the book is funny. "That dadgum word is a foot long!" lol.
defyingGravity87 3 years ago
she was 13 years old and noone told her about sex. supposedly when she was first pregnant, noone told her what it meant.

the sugar/salt scene kills me. she's so sweet in that scene. Doo looks like he's going to die after he takes the bite of pie. lmao.
I'm listening to Coal miner's daughter on my ipod right now. lol.

great clips. I absolutly love this movie, Sissy spacek(as a matter of fact, my favorite actress) and of coarse Loretta Lynn.
This movie has a great deal of comedic moments as well as it's dramatic moments. Amazing film. One of my favoerites top 5.
