  • I have a 86' 700 Virago...it idols @700 RPM...is that too low?

  • @godlike810 It should be 800-1000 RPM. If it runs well where it is and does not die I dont see any problem with it. My runs at 975 and is where it runs best at idle. Wish there were new carbs out there that were easier to adjust. A friend of mine has an 86 and a manifold that has new single carb and runs and starts far better than stock carbs. Mine will run at lower RPM's but when over 85 degrees likes to doe but actually runs better in cool months. Good Luck!

  • I'm buying an 83 that needs minor things. I was wondering how the riding is like. I am 6' 4" at 280lbs. I'm buying it from a friend's dad (I'm 18) and I was hoping someone can let me know what problems are known with the bikes. He is cleaning the carb and replacing brakes.

  • Sweet Rago!!...Your paint scheme is cool,very original..Kudos..

  • Mine sounds pretty close to that, but with a little more noise.

  • my 83 750 sounds exactly like this. except the starter of course that's getting it's 3rd one now.

  • You won't burn you vavles if they are too loose, just not enough power.

  • i have an 82 virago and it doesnt run right at all and it's STILL quieter than that.

  • need adjustment !

    Too much rattle .

  • Good video

  • My 5g5 have the same engine noise, this is normal... have you guys ever listened to a HD engine?? Those engines really sound ill. The XV750 engine works perfect.

  • Thanks man, I have an 82 that has a little cam noise, not worried now.

    Thanks for the vid.

  • weak sauce

  • can you make a vid on changing the oil ?

  • No, that isn't what one should sound like. I have an '82 Virago 750 with 12,000 original miles and it doesn't make all that ratttling noise. You may want to adjust the valves and check for proper lubrication.

  • @revitup1965 It is great that your bike is quieter, some of the cams on 750's were of soft metal and are quieter. I am using a custom hardened cam and adjust my valves a little looser. The purpose of this video was to show what it sounds like now compared to one of my previous videos.

  • @revitup1965 is CORRECT i have a 1982 virago 750 with 24000mi on it and she purrs like a kitten regardless of the quality/type of metal used for your valves, you shouldnt hear them its an 82 not a 1928! engine noise is not acceptable. your valves are improperly adjusted, you are going to burn your valves and ruin your motor

  • i thought my virago made noise, but its silent compared to yours

  • @TalonSSguy You probably have the soft metal cam and are fortunate because the viragos are known to have some noise in the top end. You are one of the lucky ones if quiet. A lot of the forums on viragos seem to mention a lot about viragos having more noise in cam than other bikes.

  • check out my virago 750 movie i made
