  • Buddha was served poisonous food. He knew it was, and accepted it as it was, he laid down and died. No, one seemed to answer that question. lol

  • God damn Amy Holmes is so sexy. She is so hawt.

  • but God hears those prayers , hitler died

  • @georgel19841 i'll bite, after he killed how many people?

  • @kght222 God works in mysterious ways

  • @georgel19841 or... we're all part of his personal ''rome total war'' style stratergy game and he's just a crule bastard... OR he dossent exsit...

  • @gh0st713 good point ,now thanks to you, i am an atheist ,but do i exist ?!-or am i just a holo-holow progection of my own madnest

  • @georgel19841 I respect every faith... (I'm Buddhist) and IF one out of all the 1000 gods from every faith happens to be real, then I'll se him/her in hell...

  • @gh0st713 How is ''God works in mysterious ways'' any better than ''Things randomly happen, and useful things blossom''?

  • @VexonCross I've heard ''God works in mysterious ways'' so many times that I no longer se it as an argument...

Things just randomly happen... thats how it is, so leve youre life, have some kidds and live to healp those in nead... that is my life code,

And It's baseicly the same as the christian way exept all the ''do this or GOD will cast you into hell!''

  • @VexonCross Because 'things randomly happen' doesn't need an all powerful daddy in the sky that makes those decisions. Though more accurately it should be 'Things JUST happen'. As almost everything has a series of events leading up to it. Random would be an elephant suddenly deciding to migrate to the north pole. A series of events, would instead send that elephant to a different part of his own habitat for new plants to eat.

  • How did Buddha died in his sleep yeesh I'm not a Buddhist and I know this.

  • Buddha died of food poisoning

  • Herbie Hancock is a Soka Gakkai member, which is like the Buddhist scientology of Japan (though, I wouldn't say it's quite as culty as scienotology; it's just leaning towards being a cult). That's why he has no idea about the Buddha's life--he's not a real Buddhist. The Buddha's death is a pretty famous in most countries that are to some extent Buddhist.

  • Back off Bill. Give the peaceful faiths a break.

  • I can sum up any religion in the world! They are cults moron, get away from them. There are no good cults, and only really stupid cultists. Like Catholics, Protestants, Baptists and yes whatever religion you happen to be. You are a cultist, and all cultists are morons.

  • just quick info, there are different sects of buddhism, buddhism as a religion where they worship buddha as a god, and buddhism as a way of life in which they are atheist but spiritualist and believe in reincarnation, they have specific names for their groups but im too lazy to look them up and post them right now :p

  • that guy on the panel didn't seem very knowledgable on buddhism for being a buddhist....i've only taken a buddhism class in school and i feel like i know more about it

  • @sdub67 You mean Herbie Hancock ??? Do you even listen to music ? Of course, this has nothing to do with his religious beliefs or his interpretations about them, but even IF you learned more in school than this guy in a lifetime (which I doubt), he's certainly worth listening to because he's a genius in his particular field. Are you a genius ?

  • I think Buddha was supposed poisoned according to Siddhartha.

  • Japanese Buddhists were responsible for the massacre of thousands of Chinese. They aren't warlike now because they don't NOW have the chance.

  • @robandre1 The Japanese weren't Buddhist during World War II. The government encouraged a type of Shintoism that focused on emperor worship as a means of making people more patriotic. So, Shintoism had direct government ties (priests were government employees). And, it became the de facto state religion. Do you know what you're talking about at all? (You comment also seems to imply that you don't understand why and how Japan doesn't have an army)

  • @robandre1 Actually, most japanese follow shintoism (the belief that the Emperor and his family is descended from the Sun Goddess herself.) and that´s why during the WWII, all other religions were forbidden and abolished in Japan. Also, no war was EVER fought in the name of Buddhism. There was never a conflict "justified" by their scriptures, unlike Christianity in general, islamism, Judaism and etc. Basically no one ever said, "it´s our duty as Buddhists to go there and kill some people!

  • The head of the Nan Tien Buddhist Temple in Australia told me personally that the Buddha knew all things past, present and future. That is not a philosophy, that is religious faith.

  • You can not sum up nichiren buddhism in 4 minutes. Nichiren Buddhism comes down to the heart. The practice is for everyone's indestructible happiness that is already inherent in everyone's life. The mission of this practice is about World Peace.

  • I don't care how inclusive you are. IS IT TRUE?

  • The Buddha supposedly died of an illness, some speculate he may have eaten something bad and therefore fell ill, but he was already quite aged at the time.

  • Herbie Hancock. Tommy boy was right!!!

  • What illness is maher talking about at 4:18 ?(I know he is kidding)

  • @ALTAF8723 he's saying he died of an illness at cedar sinai, it's a really good hospital

  • The bhuddist doesn't seem to know much about buddhism

  • People who don't know anything about Buddhism should not attempt to expand upon it, such as the woman in this clip. To even attempt to synthesize the Eastern with the Western wisdom traditions is intellectual suicide. Traditions such as Buddhism and Taoism are universes away from Christianity ontologically, epistemologically, ethically, scientifically. The world is a completely different place when viewed through the eyes of a buddhist as opposed to a Christian.

  • Buddism and Hinduism need to be studied more in the western world. if people knew more about peaceful eastern philosophies they would be less inclined to join stupid religions such as Christianity

  • @blueskkky0 all religion is stupid, you big fucking ethno-religious idiot. if there is an afterlife, i hope its christopher hitchens teaching you how stupid you are.

  • @blueskkky0 budhism may "teach peace" but its priests are in no way peaceful

  • So Bill thinks that JUST the belief in a greater being is crazy?

  • @Claronium780 When that belief makes one compromise the value of human life by promoting mysogyny, homophobia, racism, greed, lack of critical analysis and narcissistic self-promotion, in lieu of all empiricial social, psychological, political and historical evidence which proves the dangers of BLIND FAITH...then yeah, I'd say your fuckin' crazy. If your "Almighty God" wants to do so much good why doesn't "He" just do it instead of relying on "His" inheritantly flawed creations?

  • @aquababie07 I agree, I just don't think that you need to be an atheist to show you're not a big fan of organized religion

  • @Claronium780 What good has come out of organized religion which is inherent only to its practices and origins? I'm confident that when our species was learning to navigate the world and developing our cognitive abilities through experience, that hunter-gatherers would have learned the importance of empathy, goodwill, hard work, sacrifice, committment and integrity as they went along, interracting with other groups until they became communities which needed to organize strong societal boundaries

  • @aquababie07 Also, I'm not an atheist, I'm an anti-theist. I believe application of the arts, humanties, "hard" and "theoretical" sciences, history and other disciplines which enrich the human experience, and also don't exclude other parties just because they're different than me and I don't like them. Organized religion is just as much a threat to our species as any incurable virus-Except you have to choose to remain contaminated.

  • Amy Colmes is so hot.

  • religion comes from a latin word meaning "God-fearing". deification has a lot to do with it, as maher says.

  • @Jinda89

Religion comes from Latin meaning "re-connecting"; I don't know where did you get this "God-fearing" stuff...

  • @Jinda89 that was the definition provided in the latin-english dictionary at my school. Then again, that learn me for trusting a state school resource...

  • How can someone follow Buddism but then doesn't know how the creator died?? How stupid lol

  • @psychokillercrab

Well, probably because there was nothing special in his death: he was old and sick, so he died. :-)

  • @grozde yea you are probably right

  • @namasteywhat They're ALL batshit...whether it's the "Magic Underpants" ,the "Aliens",the "Dead Jew" with multiple personalities..."go to the front of the line & collect your 72 virgins"..."god said this was our promised land & we're gonna kill everyone until it is"

    ALL FUCKIN BATSHIT

    Xtra Credit

    #1...mormons

    #2...scientology

    #3...christians

    #4...islam

    #5...judaism

  • I'm not, it's just that Christianity is the religion I know the most about, including it's flaws. I know that religion was necessary in order to take us this far as a species, but it's about time we move past it. It's doing alot more harm than good and it's been that way for centuries now.

  • @namasteywhat Which? Every religion I've looked into. No, not all of them. It's possible, though not probable, that there's one out there that's true.

No I'm not an authority on any religion. But like I said, you don't have to dig too deep.

  • @namasteywhat You don't have to dig too deep to see that religion is fairy tales.

  • what a strained interaction.

  • @Klaaaan1 Tough to dispute belief in one God gets people pulling the one direction - obvious joke here. This does mean it is a good direction. The monotheistic desert religions claim to one God is impugned by each being different enough to allow them to kill each other, even within the same sect. Also, "faith gives... strength to get through great adversities... that one with out faith would not be able to do." Great adversity, yes. Just cause, not necessarily. 911. Delusions can be dangerous.

  • I envy those who have faith and can believe in a a super natural being, cause the true believer looks foward to the future and that faith gives the true believer the strength to get through great adversities that one with out faith would not be able to do. The true believer's in Christ built this country and made it the super power it is today. I'm not a believer, but history shows that faith in one God gets every one pulling in the same direction.

  • Bill maher needs to die

  • @jeremyc311709 I don't think anyone should advocate the death of another human being just because you disagree with their views and/or opinions. I think you should decide whether you make that comment out of anger or out of pure hatred of another who disagree with you? It is people like yourself who think in this context that are bringing on the hate and those like Bill who is doing the correct thing putting them on notice. Wishing someone dead or they should die for a childish reason is sick.

  • @Karma2Die4 Bill Maher and other leftists like him who are so warped in the head with liberalism are the destruction of my beloved United States. They are the cancer of this nation so yes, I do wish death upon one so sick as Maher.

  • @jeremyc311709 Your beloved United States? Wake up buddy, North America only belongs to a few and I will go on record to say that you and yours do not own this continent. I am a liberal and I wear my liberalism like a badge of honor and for those who do not like that fact can kiss BILL'S ASS, to include yourself and others like yourself. We LIBERALS are sick and tired of the hate mongers attempting to take this country over, that will never happen again and you can take that to the bank...

  • @Karma2Die4 & @jeremyc311709

    To the BANK sucka!

  • I can't believe this retarded woman is a political analyst. She hasn't anything good to say, so she desperately tries to make comments.

  • @saidox You have just described yourself. Congrats!

  • I'm glad that most people I talk to nowadays are open to idea that they could be wrong. They still have their faith(which is completely fine with me) and they keep it to themselves. But for the most part they admit it's an unknowable. The religious debate has shifted and is more open today. And it is the fundamentalists who claim to know EVERYTHING that are looking out of touch. I'm only 21 so the people I talk to are pretty open minded, but it's progress nonetheless.

  • Japanese are Shinto and Buddhist at the same time generally. Shintoism is a polytheistic faith, so there are basically times when they are Buddhists and times when they are shinto. The two get along well side-by-side.

  • amy holmes is a stupid cunt!

  • hahahahaha are you batshit? ahahahahah

  • Buddha was crucified ??

    Good grief...aren't these people ignorant...

He did die of an illness...some sort of food poisoning

To me, it is a philosophy...people who label themselves Buddhists just don't know much about it...

  • I see religion a bit like language, in that you get imprinted with it at a young age, and most people don't change either very much. If that's true, and your beliefs result from who raised you, and who raised you is pretty much a result of chance (you don't choose your parents!), and differing religions are typically incompatible...then we should probably be careful about taking any religion too seriously except in ways that decrease human suffering.

  • @Highlyskeptical except lacking a language is def a negative thing and lacking a religion is not

  • I love Richard Belzer

  • its too bad the media doesent portray any religion in its CORRECT and authentic form, so everything gets made fun of....hey i guess thats the idea for comedians, is to make fun of everything. sad but you can only pray that they be guided bfore they peace out.

  • I love Herbie but a political debate program really isn't his place.

I saw an interview of him about his buddhism, to him Buddhism is just an open state of mind that helps him with his music. It probably isn't really a religion to him, the fact he couldn't tell how Buddha died should tell enough.

  • @boertush

Well, I think some people who label themselves Buddhist connect to some or all of the philosophy and or cultural heritage of it. Of those who do believe in its spirituality, many do not believe in a deity or even a higher power.

  • I love bills laugh at 0:17

  • I'm tired of people trying to personify god as if it's a radio or t.v. personality, because what we see, touch, taste hear and the things we smell must be the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Sorry if it's getting to far out for you atheists but if you think that the universe started from a number before 0 out of a "god" element which is essentially the theory to date I think we are talking about the same shit

  • @alexworksfromhome99 dude what we sence is NOT the thurth, far form it, nearly everything out eye's tell us is wrong. the last half of your comment doesnt even make sence, get educated

  • Saying that atheism is a religion is kind of like saying anarchism is a political movement. Defining it that way usually implies your resistance to, or antagonism with it.

  • John Hancock... Its Herbie Hancock duhhhhh....

  • Actually, if you just make a point to study logic and reason, all the dumb shit found in and about religion (including religion itself) gets cut out, but you retain all the good stuff. Logic and reason is awesome, but thinking takes effort. It's not just a state of being.

  • Amy Holmes is FINE! I wouldn't mind having some chocolate with milk :)

  • Herbie is brilliant. A philosophy and a practice.

  • Herbie is brilliant. A philosophy and a practice.

  • Bill says he preaches the "gospel of I don't know", but sometimes he seems so sure that there is no God that he looks sounds like an extremist. The difference is that he condemns you not to hell, but to lunacy.

Herbie is musical genius. He was trying to have a nice debate but he just wouldn't listen. It's not polite to call a guy like him "batshit" because he does not agree with your religious point of view (and atheism is a religious point of view)

  • Herbie is lost there a little. Practice is tradition, not religion. Religious routine is just a way for humans to find comfort in the order of things. God - if there was one wouldn't give a crap about whether you wear a tie to church or not.

  • Bill Maher and Herbie Hancock both kick ass!!!!

  • I agree with Bill on religion but he needs to give it a rest. these religious crazies cannot be reached. He would get more viewers if he just stuck to the political policies analysis

  • i dont care about will smith, tom cruise or john travolta... but the bastards took chick corea.... bastards.

  • That's hilarious. He's so good. Why does he believe that craziness?

  • It's difficult to fathom that someone that is as intelligent as Holmes would think that the science is not settled on AGW. Citing every single talking point of denialist rhetoric.

  • no you are

  • To those interested;Hancock is in a sect of Buddhism based on the Lotus sutra as explained by Nichiren Diashonin from the 1200's Japan. The practice strictly based on the mystic law of cause and effect and the Daishonin taught that killing any human for any reason WRONG period.During world war2 layman leader was jailed by Shinto based gov't and he died in jail refusing to follow military b.s. so true Buddhism maintains NO to "death before dishonor" YES to peaceful seeking mind.good nite+gdluck.!

  • She is cute but her politics makes her look ugly.

    Bill Maher 2012!

  • @vincevince801 Do you have any idea how illegal a hotdog would be?

  • what did he mean by "Chick Corea would not like that"....are they on not good relations Herbie and Chick?

if that's the case its sad because Zawinuw,Chick and Herbie came from Miles's band and they are the founders or fusion and should be friends.

  • 3:35

not sure what holocuast has to do with Iraq

  • Holocaust happened in Iraq. Saddam set it up when he was a little child during WWII.

  • he is not claiming it has anything to do with iraq,he is saying prays are useless...they were useless during the holocaust, their useless now.

  • Buddha was about 60 when he died.

  • @blackrocker1 : The Buddha was nearly 80 when he died.

  • Budda died of food poisoning (ate something other than what his followers ate), and was cremated shortly thereafter.

  • tradition says the Buddha died of food poisoning after eating spoiled foods, offered to him as charity, when he was around 80yrs of age.

  • i'd do stuff to amy holmes

    lots of stuff

  • Warlike Buddhists, Hindus etc. doesn't make the religion warlike. To judge that you have to take into account a) are the wars holy wars and b) is the use of violence defensive.

  • ROFL i love how under richard belzer's name it says "conspiracy theorist" like that's what hes known for LOL

  • @crackrawkz he was in the 80s on the radio...

  • Maher is right, many people confuse Buddhism as a Religion, but its much more a philosophy more than anything else.

  • the richard dawkins book he is talking about is "The God Delusion".

I'm reading it now and I have to say a lot of what maher says is quoted from the book.

  • Japan is both Buddhist and Shinto. They used both to mobilize people during their militarist spell. So Buddhism can really well be violent. The Tibetans show it quite well with the violent protests and the fact that weapons have been discovered stockpiled in their temples.

  • Hinduism is responsible for the caste system. Buddhism was responsible for the theocratic feudalism in Tibet until the Chinese took over. These are just as bad as Christianity and Islam.

  • HE was a virgin birth...

  • heh, the heart attack gig was good.

  • If Hinduism is war like then none of the other religions wouldve existed. Being the most ancient religion and believes in all humans are equal is no small belief. Unlike Christians and muslims who are always trying to convert others. When was the last time a hindu swami came to your door knocking with a story book? Unlike other religions Hindus dont create temples for dead people and burried in it too!

  • yeah, some hindus are indeed very warlike, I'm sure Maher's gotten that message by now. And Belzer is my kind of douchebag, sigh.

  • budda died from eating a bad mushrume

that his friend gave him on accident.

  • Thanks Herbie!

  • if hinduism was a warring religion, we would no have allowed to be under muslim rule for 300 years and then under christian rule for 200 years.

we are the last people who like to fight..

even now when pakistan attacks , we dont attack them for every small thing like israel, and US

  • and the Jews are not warlike?

  • Hinduism is very much a warring religion. Maher should check that.

  • He didn't say Hinduism wasn't warlike, just not as warlike. although a strong case can be made that they infact are.

  • It is warlike, but in ancient times they gave up war and got thumped by every passing goat herding tribe, then they re-inculcated it back as one of the important karmas that a man should perform.Jainism, buddhism under Ashoka the great again took India back to the warless path, this time he spread buddhism all over the world,to makes sure to prevent war,he called it Victory by Dhamma but then fear of invader over took the path of self-realization and it collapsed back.

  • Hinduism is no more violent than any of the others per se. I think christianity and Islam and judaism arent rooted in violence but rather people abuse them. jesus told us to turn the other cheek but we execute people and bomb innocent people in Iraq. Mohammad told us to live in peace but extremists want to wage a jihad on the west. And dont get me started on the jews.

  • "arent rooted in violence"

you havent read the old testament it seems

that piece of batshit has so much divine smithing and slaughter of unbelievers that im amazed that the blood isnt pouring from the book

i havent read the quoran but from what i hear its just as bad if not worse

  • Lol, Mohammed ordered people to kill constantly. He only ordered people to live in peace in areas already under Islamic control.

Mohammed even ordered a boy to be killed not an what he did, but what he would do in the future. The Islam even killed more people as socialism.

  • @marsnr1 not true. between christianty and muslim faith, muslim faith faith is more peaceful and honest. I spit on them both, however, because they both preach supremacy over peace...

  • @marsnr1, and christians killed free thinkers as witches... we have a saying here about how christianity was spread "miekka lähetys" which roughly translates to "sword shipment"

which basicaly was "Belive or die"

    and socialism doesnt kill people...

  • @Darusdei Finsk, Hej från Sverige!

  • How do you know where you there?

  • what was some of the things Jews did, i don't know just asking?

  • herbie hancock is a god

  • Herbie and Maher in one video! The best from 2 worlds. I haven't seen it yet, but I feel like dancing! :D

  • U cant believe that every religion has a external god and for that i think bill was wrong and he should educate himself a bit more to make his point more clear.

There is alot of religions that believe in self power that we can get to tap via different rituals too many to list.

Does not include a god of any sort its just natural power from earth/ki/sao etc.

I don't believe in a god of any kind but i don't bash christians its just too easy, and other religions are really not that better off...

  • buddists arnt warlike??? is the oppressive sri lankan goernment not completely buddist??? buddists and others are just as war like because they're human, religion has no bearing on the matter except its a easy way to rial people up

  • it's one thing for some to claim to being buddists, then it is another for one to practice buddist teachings. Sri Lankan gov't are not trully buddist

  • Well, yes... I guess shit happen everywhere.

  • the goal of buddhism is to cease to exist, nirvana, the absolution of karma, to have no effect, to be one with everything.

Essentially, to be a good buddhist, you sit under a tree until you die, eat what people give you to eat, have no property. Sounds like the homeless in modern times

because some buddhists are jerks, doesn't mean that they're good buddhists

  • open a book, before you open your mouth. ;)

  • learn how to not, put commas in the wrong, place

  • thats what buddha did as an ascetic, before he found what he called "enlightenment," which was finding the middle path. the middle path means not incredibly rich (like he was as a prince), and not being incredibly poor (like he was as an ascetic). its about living life in a natural manner with an attitude focusing on embracing life.

  • actualy the buddhists aren't that warlike.

  • How is it beyond stupid? Buddhists never started a war in the history of mankind. There is NO justification for war in Buddhist teaching. Perhaps you should do your research before you yammer about things and people you know nothing about.

  • haha hindus arent war like....

  • religion is only stupid because people make it stupid. Can't we agree that some thing in the bible are just not true and move on?

  • @stonedragon313 - Au contraire, ignorant people make religion which is why it is "stupid", all of the divine claims of the bible and many of the historical one's are not true... as a matter of fact.

  • @stonedragon31

Of course "religion is stupid because people make it stupid". It's people who made all the religions.

It doesn't make sense to single out one of them you are most attached to and say it's exceptional (or even single out which parts of it "are true") as other people do for their own favorite (religion or parts of any/many).

  • @Unbeginner

People make many things - some good, some not so good, some bad...

What's wrong with saying that one man-made thing is better than another?

SONY make TVs, and so does NEO... But...!!!

You see my point here? ;-)

  • @grozde

No, I don't get it. I said religion is man-made so if it's stupid because people make it stupid, it's not JUST because there are extremists to each religion, but because religions themselves are stupid that's the way they were maid.

Than you said there's nothing wrong with saying one man-made thing is better than another.

I obviously think that already if I said religions are man-made things that are bad. The part that I think some other man-made things aren't bad is implied.

  • @Unbeginner

    1. You have to know EVERY SINGLE RELIGION before you can claim that "there are extremists in every religion'. Do you??

    2. You have to know EVERY SINGLE RELIGION before you can claim that "religions themselves are stupid that's the way they were maid'. Do you??

    3. An extremist daoist would be like a rose bud compared to a devoted Southern Baptist... So you also need to define "extremist". :-)

    4. You're contradicting yourself. Or I don't understand properly your last 3 sentences.

  • @grozde

    Depends on the definitions.

    thefreedictionary,com

    religion:

" Belief in and reverence for a supernatural power or powers regarded as creator and governor of the universe."

    stupid:

"Tending to make poor decisions or careless mistakes.".

Explaining the origing/workings of the universe by postulating an unexplanable exception (like a god) is a careless mistake, because it teaches you nothing, it's self deceit that you have an explanation.

This way all religions are stupid.

  • @Unbeginner

Your thefreedictionary disqualifies a number of religions...

And your excuse also doesn't encompass all religions...

    Just so you know. ;-)

  • @grozde

    extremist:

"One who advocates or resorts to measures beyond the norm, especially in politics."

To the 3rd point of your comment. Sorry, I didn't express myself well. If a religion has only 1 follower, each it's follower is a norm to it. If it has 1000, than not necessarily. And I agree extremists of different religions aren't equally harmful.

But, MY POINT has been that some religions are horrible, regardless of whether we classify it's more horrible followers as just extremists.

  • @Unbeginner

The difference between "extremists" still remains due to the different NORMS and limits of the different religions!

And you're actually making MY point: that SOME - not necessary ALL - religions are horrible!!!

  • @grozde

"The difference between "extremists" still remains due to the different NORMS and limits of the different religions!"

YES!!!, I AGREE, you fucking moron! It's what I've said.

Fine, I'm making your point that not all religions are equally horrible, but I'm also making my point that religions are stupid!

If one "religion" wouldn't be I wouldn't classify it as a religion.

I classify Islam and Christianity as religions, so I find them stupid.

  • @Unbeginner

Funny logic:Religions are stupid; if a religion is not stupid - it's not a religion.

Not that I expect you to understand - or at least admit it - but you're loosing ground: Your basic claim was that all religions are equal and you can't single out any particular one as better. If some are more stupid and aggressive than the others - you obviously CAN! And you STILL don't know them all. And still insist that "smarter" religions are not religions just because you insist on ignorance.

  • @grozde

Moron, I never said I care to win an argument with you. Declare yourself victorious all you want. It's not going to change my opinion about religions, which is they are stupid, not equal.

And I don't have to know all religions to think that. All I know are stupid and until you come up with a counterexample I'm fixed on all religions being stupid.

    Period.

  • @Unbeginner

U call me a moron, yet U R unable to comprehend the simplest thing!

Where have I declared myself a winner? And what was the competition? Too much stuff that has nothing to do with reality or reason is only happening in your mind...

U R the one who is stupid for having backwards logic. & U R dishonest to claim that your original point was not what it was. I don't care about changing your opinion, just pointing out simple fallacies. People like U give atheists a bad name.

  • @grozde

"Where have I declared myself a winner?"

In the last comment: "...but you're loosing ground..."

"And what was the competition?" Obviously you're trying to win an argument against me.

The rest of your comment is just you trying to provoke me into talking more with you.

  • @Unbeginner

You're loosing ground not to ME, but to REALITY and COMMON SENSE.

And the competition is only in your head...

And - PLEASE - don't talk anymore! It's getting more and more painfully unintelligent and dishonest of you.

  • Lets not forget that the IDF ideology is that of a war against gentiles, i.e., half of Bill Maher and most of America.

  • The Jews are the modern day warrior race. Why no mention of that religion Bill?

  • Confucianism and Buddhism don't have crazy nutcases. Just as Maher put it, "they're not war like."

  • Confucianism and Buddhism are philosophies

  • gotta love the belz

  • Only if it's central or relevant to the religion. The way Buddha died is not of any real concern to Buddhists, the way he lived and thought are.

Not that it really matters to me, Buddhism makes plenty of absurd unknowable claims just like Christianity, Judaism, Hindu, Muslim, and so on an so forth. My philosophy is that it's wrong to propagate things that you can't possibly actually know. That's a bullshiitter. If you prophet from it then you're a charlatan.

  • Siddhartha Gautama never made any of those claims, other than accepting the idea of reincarnation.

  • Reincarnation and the after life is a claim to immortality that exists in virtually all religions. This claim is one of the primary ideas in religion that makes it appealing and conciliatory.
