  • Awesome! I thought I scored finding a Heritage II at a thrift store for $30. Free is way better and you found attachments......can't believe someone threw it away!

  • hi we have got the kirby heritage 2 we got it last year off of e bay but the motor is a bit dirty and iv tried every thing to shine it up but nothing has worked so far have you any sujestions?

  • Man thats a nice vacuum. I had a women come to my house today to demostrat the kirby vacuum I fell in love with it, but i did not fall in love with the price $1500! Can any body tell me how much a used one should cost?

  • @Jake199415 go to like a good will or a salvation army store. I got my kirby g6 for $64 at a salvation army store and i got a kirby 512 for like $80 at a good will,a kirby heritage 2 turbo for $21 at a good will, a kirby tradition for $21 at a good will, and a kirby 1300 comvac for $14 at a salvation army and i got a kirby classic omega for free from a guy down the street.

  • Why are you showing me "HERITAGE 84" repeatedly?

  • @bpmagruder Product placement

  • It looked like you were going to vacuum your camera

  • My coolest thing about that vacuum was the unusual attachments that would were offered. The turbo hair cluppers are the coolest, then the trubo massager/sander was the other. I do have one of these machines in my collection of vacuums as well and I have all of the attachments.

  • Hey, great vacuum, I like this one as well. but the smaller head was an option. You as the buyer could have either one. My parents bought ours brand new and we had the choice of either head. Instead they bought the small head as well we used it at times for getting under end tables because the wide head would not fight. My coolest thing about that vacuum was the unusual attachments that would were offered.

  • He is kind of right. But he does not have the kirby heritage 84 with the small power nozzle. Kirby made a few kirby 84's with a small power nozzle those r rare but this sadly is not.

  • this is deff. not rare lol

  • is this a vacuum commercial? this vacuum sucks 10% more than our leading competitor!

  • How did you restore that shine?? I see that you used steel wool and mothers polish but, did you use the wool first then buff it out nice with the polish?

  • i used the steel wool to apply the polish, and i buffed it out with a towel

  • i do that with my buffer machine ^^

  • ya a vacum exciting guess what I GOT ONE TO

  • hey dude nice kirby where you find it i love kirbys would you want to sell it i want one bad

  • down the street and, no

  • Awesome, I've got a Heritage II and if I'm lucky on EBAY next week I'll have the Diamond edition

  • @adb140275 im getting a kirby soon aswell as a eureka esp and hoover elite supreme with the hard bag case instead of outer bag

  • @alec1381 I have one of these for the right price

  • i have the original heritage, 1981 model. its great machine and has served us very well. my parents bought it used from a local vaccum shop 10 years ago for 125 bucks. when i moved out my mom gave it to me, it was too heavy for her. they are an older machine but so they can be had for cheap, but they are still a high performance vaccum cleaner. i have had to make a few repairs over the years. replaced front axle, outer bag (bought used), cord, brush roll. for a 27 year old machine it rocks.

  • yea that seems like a big expensive thing to just give away.

  • i hate people who abuse nice things. especially vacuums. what did it ever do to them? suck their dirt, clean their house

  • i have the same vacuum funny

  • what makes this kirby "RARE"?

  • its a model only made in 1984

  • Hence the "84" which would only be applicable to Heritage 1-HDs produced from January to June 1984.

  • Thats the same Kirby My mom and dad used to have

  • It's a shame the light is burned out on here, but a good sounding vacuum cleaner though.

  • it had some dirty contacts. it works now in my olympus test video. check it out

  • What is the serial # on your Heritage 84 1-HD? Ex: 8400000001.

  • i cant find the sieral number. tell me where to find it and ill tell u the number

  • Here is what you do: Just look left from the headlight.

Also see my latest video upload to show you where.

  • Sounds like dry bearings. I too have a couple of these machines and neither ddof them make that sound. I am very picky about what my machines sound like and that I prolly not tollerate.

  • i doubt it, my heritage II sounds the same

  • Impressive! Nothing quite like a polished-up Kirby!

I'm wondering though, what's that buzzing sound it makes when it's running? I have four 70s-era Kirbys and none of them make that sound...

  • the brushroll on the carpet, probably.

  • It's a different sound I'm hearing. It may just be because it's recorded with a microphone, but it sounds like a motor-related sound to me. It changes pitch in direct relation to motor speed. Did you change the fan or something? I've heard many people say that ones with Kevlar fans sound differently.

  • it does have a white fan... idk i got this out of the trash.

  • I don't mean to bother you or anything, I was just asking. :)

White fan...might be Kevlar then. How's it sound with the belt off? My first CIII is a bit noisy when it's got the belt off.

  • you arent bothering me, i like questions! advance to 1:30 in the video to hear it with the belt off.

  • One question? What did you use to get it so shiny and in like new condition, and also how did you do it, to make it so shiny and new. i love this model i have one as well, but i want to get it shiny again.

  • #0000 steel wool and mothers aluminum polish.

    thanx

  • I was given a Heritage 84 (offered through the coincidence of YouTube and Freecycle!!! I use the same username on both), I've still to polish it up but it works perfectly!!! I don't know if you did this with yours, but I swapped the bag adaptor with the HII style-3 adaptor so I can use the newer HEPAII bags in my H84 (keeping hold of the original Style-2 adaptor for authenticity's sake)... :)

  • no i still have the oval bag (style II) and the sani emtor installed

  • I still have the sani-emtor fitted, all I did was swap the adaptor and damaged filltube for a newer filltube fitted with the Style-3 adaptor, keeping the exterior original but upgrading it in the process... :)

  • oh... well mine stays original (i have NO spare parts, lol)

  • Unlike myself, I have bits of Kirbys everywhere these days!!! :D

I think, if you're careful, you could persuade a Style-3 bag to fit onto a Style-2 adaptor, but that's not guaranteed, I managed to do this with my Tradition before I upgraded it, but they have the clip that holds the bag in place, so after trimming the card plate down a bit I made it fit, but was very fiddly to do every time I changed the bag!!! :D

  • i have a whole bag of oval style 2 bags

  • Well, if you have them then you may aswell use them, it's just that if you wanted HEPA filtration (as I do) it would need the adaptor changing, but it's your choice though, I only did it out of preference and not wanting to buy a separate lot of bags just for the H84... :)

  • well, i dont see a difference in HEPA bags... so why pay extra?!?

  • That's the thing, unless you have a microscope you can't actually see what a standard bag leaks, things like dust particles and bacteria, but unless you have health problems or just like to know you have a clean home, then you don't need them, but they are a good investment... :)

  • i sold kirbys,it was fun, nice find take care of it,you can probly take it in and put a new brush on it,or check in wicht #your brush is set to,you can allways lower it.

  • the brushroll is fine

  • Nice find dude.Kirbys rule

  • ya out of the trash!

  • The headlight's gone out.

  • faulty wiring

  • I love these Modle Kirbys

  • this is very rare

it was the last year for the heritage I, 1984. then came the heritage II
