  • So if space is nothing then exploring space is exploring nothing?

  • The music was both extremely epic and extremely fitting :)

  • I thought the parachute was never going to open. Then I though the wind was going to blow the capsule over land.

The kids today don't remember what a "Splash Down" is.

  • You all are fools...The Dragon will fall to earth like a lightning bolt...It will be the one surviving member of a seven man crew in the SpaceX "Red Dragon" Module to Mars after a failed mission attempt....He will be the only survivor...He will be of the Seven, but he won't be, it will be an alien claiming he is God....He will claim to be a savior and have seen the Universe beyond...Or at least that is how Hollywood would portray it...

  • @raphaeltrumpetsound Red dragon isn't even a manned mission weirdo.

  • Care pakage?

  • What is the name of that song?

  • @davidbotardo Two Steps From Hell "Freedom Fighters"

  • Star Trek trailer music.

  • I am very happy to see the vidoe SpaceX conducted the Dragon high altitude drop test on 12 August 2010 to validate the parachute deployment systems and recovery operations from you, hopefully the others also are happy for You

  • Nice Video SpaceX conducted the Dragon high altitude drop test on 12 August 2010 to validate the parachute deployment systems and recovery operations That You Share , So Very Nice Thanks You

  • so wie alte 1969er,keine modern?

  • I Really Like The Video SpaceX conducted the Dragon high altitude drop test on 12 August 2010 to validate the parachute deployment systems and recovery operations From Your

  • Your Video SpaceX conducted the Dragon high altitude drop test on 12 August 2010 to validate the parachute deployment systems and recovery operations Is Very Useful Sharing

  • what is the name of the song?¿

  • '

wow very beautifully spacex dragon on the safety water,,,

the water is better safety and soft than on the land,,,

but the mars do not have water and only land

  • from red to white flames a good advancement indeed

  • Yes, Balsa wood will float.

But I knew that already, so what did this prove?

    Nothing

    Just a puppet show.

  • Is it just me or is that music from The Dark Knight? If it is then great choice!

  • @Enatbyte It sounds more like the soundtrack from Deus Ex in the trailer lol

  • @CaptianMolesto Who knows...

  • wow, we are so slow in advancement

  • @wazfrmoz We would be much further ahead if it wasn't for the stupid Space Shuttle

  • @ThatAdelaideGuy bro, ur from Adelaide, do you even sure know what a space shuttle is...lol, haha

  • @wazfrmoz You're kidding me right?

  • @ThatAdelaideGuy chill man, i was just playin with you...i was high at the time, anyway how is adelaide?

  • @wazfrmoz Define advancement............

  • @Terran123rd define, DEFINE.....

  • @wazfrmoz Touche good sir. But you get my point, though, right?

  • @Terran123rd well no me good man, u have to understand IM HIGH right now, so answering questions isnt the greatest idea....lollalalalalalalalalalalalllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • @Terran123rd everybody like KUNGFU FIGHTING, something somethind something, as fast as lightning....lol

  • @Terran123rd the point that i have eluded to is related to the exploitation of first generation technology of space shuttle, this may not be redundant technology, these so called advancements havent really progressed space exploration to even an aesthetic sense. They need to capture the imagination of the public such as richard bransens virgin space craft, not something that seems to be recycled from the old space program, be it with modifications

  • @wazfrmoz True..........but how can they get to that more advanced, exciting technology without perfecting getting into space first? Rockets are proven, we've had them for decades (I'm talking about rockets capable of reaching space here, not rockets in general). SpaceX is going a step further by trying to make them re-usable, something that has not been done before, to my knowledge at least (yes, I remeber the shuttle, still talking about "rockets"). Once Space X has getting into space.....

  • @Terran123rd we shall see...the question of an interplanetary space station will always be there, but the problem is, without the space shuttle, and its ability to carry equipement into space, how can we achieve such a feat with just a capsule..thats why i fell this program's has limited capabilities aside conducting experiments in space, how are we going to achieve this important goal...the only way is advancement in logistics in space, which is improbable in regards to this program.

  • @wazfrmoz The Russians seem to do pretty well with the Soyuz............which is a capsule that they have been using and perfecting since the 60's. Notice that they still have a working space program....................

The Chinese also launched their space station (hear about that?) using, you guessed it, a rocket.

  • @wazfrmoz .....perfected, then they can start working on the cooler stuff, like interplanetary spacecraft.

  • 0:22

    lol

it looks like some footae from a game^^

  • System Engineers masturbate to this shit!

  • Funny how they try and glorify man made technology on this, now that I'm saved; this is nothing to me haha! Good rocket though!

  • @UpForDanceroid you know people might be happy about your situation if you weren't showing it in everybody's face.

Imagine scientists running around like that "Technology has saved me". How idiotic would THAT seem?

  • @SPeitsch I am not saved by technology. I meant something else.

  • @UpForDanceroid /facepalm

Ok let me spell it out for you. People might be happy about you being saved if you weren't shoving your belief into other people's faces. Not a single person who's a scientist is running around knocking on doors to tell people who didn't ask to be told how great science is.

Now compare that to certain other people who knock on your door asking you if you've been saved.

  • @SPeitsch Facepalm? Sir, in this country we are FREE of SPEECH & WORSHIP. Get a life man! Look at how you express yourself over the internet. Science is great, and besides...do you even KNOW me to mail me that message?

    3 words:

    GET A LIFE

  • @UpForDanceroid I repeat my /facepalm

YouTube sent you that message because your Comment got a reply. If you don't want to receive comments then ask your god how to tell YouTube not to do that.

It speaks volumes that you don't understand the difference between freedom of speech and shoving your beliefs into other people's faces AND it is the epitome of irony that you call upon free speech and then accuse me of sending you an email.

    Get a clue.

  • @SPeitsch stfu dude i didnt bother to read your ignorant and worthless word, all i know is that DONT reply to this.

  • @UpForDanceroid Why did you even comment, and this isn't a rocket, its a pod.

  • As per Elon quote below in a comment...it's obvious rich people are so tired of visiting all the vacation spots on earth hundreds of times so now they're like, oh well we're tired of this place so who cares if we're dumping garbage in the ocean, we're gonna vacation in space now!...idiots.

  • @AAAsh137 your the idiot, dumping garbage in the ocean? all garbage from space flight that falls back to the oceans is collected so no harm his done you retard.

  • Can't wait to see footage from today's launch and recovery!!!

  • OUTSTANDING!!

  • Interesting, the S-64 is incapable achieving the claimed 14,000 altitude. It is limited to only 9'000 feet.

  • @tjohn6041 It could go to 14,000. No prob. I can get a Diamond DA20 to 14,000 feet.

Although... it is not recommended... to say the least... hee hee.

  • Do the large chutes have vents? It's hard to tell. Looks like they took a little while to deploy. Or was that slow mo?

  • @owntor1 The parachutes used in high speed deployment have reefing systems that slow the openings. This can be done in smaller simpler parachutes (like what skydivers use) by means of a slider. In larger parachutes (like Falcon, Apollo, etc) and most reefed rounds it can be done with special line cutters, that hold the shroud and skirt of the canopy together to limit the air entering the canopy. once a safe speed is achieved by the reefed parachute, the lines are cut allowing full inflation.

  • Was it supposed to come down slanted like that? A horizontal base would have increased resistance and reduced speed further eh?

  • are those chunks of ice faling off ? WTF how did ice get on there?

  • @yoboss1049

    It's kinda cold up there...

  • start charging for rides inside it

  • Ok, so what exactly have you accomplished here that hasn't been done a million times before? Don't get me wrong, it's great to see a private company achieving this, but really all you've done is replicate something that NASA/Russia has been doing for 50-60 years. No amount of 'epic music' is going to make me believe otherwise!

  • @gottalovedookie Ofcourse, yet this test is necessary before humans can take a ride in it, so it is very important for SpaceX.

  • @gottalovedookie What makes this important isn't that Spacex is replicating what others have been doing for 60 years, it's that they're doing something that no one's done in the last 22 years: launching a new manned orbital spacecraft. The fact that it's being done by a private company is just the icing on the cake.

  • @gottalovedookie spaceX technology has been developed in house from scratch and is less then 10% of the cost of rival govt space programs.

"I believe 500 dollars per kilo to orbit is possible" -Elon Musk.

They are advancing forward at lightning speed.

"I will retire on mars" -Elon Musk

  • @pointmanzero Awesome! Thanks for the info, that's basically what I was trying to have answered, so yeah, pretty big deal :-D

  • lol mass effect music.

  • /watch?v=D5OgYPzDKp4

coming to a reality near you

  • I got chills up my spine watching this! I wish Great Success for you, SpaceX. Thnk You for keeping Space Exploration Alive. I Love this!!!

  • the editing in this video is awesome.
