Hello, I use .300 thick acrylic, I do not engrave more than half the depth, every sign is different, depends on the size of letters and the types of bit I use. Not sure what you mean Mat or Normal - referring to acrylic.
What are you trying to do make your own? Just let me know what you want I will help ya.
@illsigns I am trying to make car tacho for my car,something similar to yours signs. So I want all numbers and lines to be invisible (if possible) whit out of light. After I turn it on,it shows it all. Acrylic I can use can be 2-3 mm thick. And lines and numbers are 1 mm thick. I have my own laser engraver 30w,but I didn't work much whit acrylic. I mostly engrave some small gifts in wood. How deep should my engraving be? Thanks for reply and greetings from Bosnia
i have to ask u, are those engraved signs in plexiglass shine if u dont put light underneath them, but put a little away and point the light in that direction? or if u put a light source in the angle towards a sign? please help!
@ChaxBEYBE There are smalle LED bulps under or over the sign. Depends really how big the sign are. White LED bulps are the best, they give the best light, and you dont have to use that many of them. You can find DIY videos here on the tube.
How deep is engraving in signs? Do they have to be mat,or can be normal,like all of acrylic? Please help

@illsigns
I would go only .like .05mm
You only have to scratch the surface it does not have to be deep. No more than .1mm
do a test piece first so you dont scrap the acrylic.
