I don't know if this is the one, but I saw a taping of Press Your Luck when I was in Los Angeles back in 1983. The taping was on September 10, and it didn't debut until 9 days later (September 19). Unfortunately, the taping lasted about two and a half hours because they had technical problems in the studio.

My high score is WAY higher than that! I played it just like Larson did, on the Expert version of the game which is really cool, though I felt the same effects Larson did. But with many spins keeping coming back to me, I got over $250,000 in cash and prizes.

But, $122,000 ain't bad at all. That's a good total.

The only change from the pilot to the actual show was the number of questions reduced to 4.

Actually, another change was that in the pilot, there were 4 slides in each square. The difference for the show was that there were 3 slides, so that makes two differences

Plus the logo which was a lime green and orange stencil, the "spins" cards that was orange with black lettering, and the background behind the contestants while spinning was black with a "starry-like" background.

Also, they switched out the logo in the center of the big board. The pilot had a military stencil outline whereas this one has the classic PYL logo.
