It wasn't really meant for PS2. It's a PSP game that, almost too literally, got a direct port to PS2. I don't think they bothered to up the detail on the graphics or anything. It doesn't really bother me, though. But, then again, the only time i've ever played it was on the PSP.

It's a must have game in the R&C series. In fact, it is the first R&C to not be made by Insomniac so it's something to look out for.

The graphics is awful in the cutscene..seriously..As a fan of the first 3..Yes, even though the 3rd doesn´t have the charm and freeness (I know, not a word, who cares) that the first 2 has, nor the discovering the plot as you go along-element (which I think is actually crucial to the games before), it still has some charm atleast.

Yes, the controls are changed to L2 and R2 to strafe much like the other Ratchet PS2 games.

most people rated this a bad score on the ps2 version, but on the original for the psp, all i saw was 8/10's, 9/10's, and 10/10's.

It comes to show you that, either

1. The people didn't know that it was a port.

2. They like things on smaller screens.

3. They probaply complained about the graphics being "blocky"(reffering to 1).

Direct ports are re-releases of a game from it's original system to another. It is a direct port because there are minimal differences between the two.

My biggest complaint is Luna's voice. The cutscenes hadn't changed, but the tutorial did because of the control layout. I preferred her voice in the PSP tutorial. This one makes me want to punch puppies. (Not srsly) The controls are much better though. I actually don't see any strafing in the PSP version. Just running left and right. That makes it difficult to fire and move at the same time. It's a bitch to use your Mootator like that.

Well, if you liked the Online Mode in Gladiator then you'd probably want the PSP version, or if you like Online games at all. It only has four player online though, don't know how active it is.

if anybody hasnt played any of the older R.A.C games, they are great the first and second in the series, in my mind, insomniac was just getting a baseline for the charictors eg, we get a life story of quark, the third was when they definatley stepd the game up a bit the fourth had the element and theme of total destruction and total carnage also i like how they use past refrences and inside jokes thet u couldnt possibley get without playing the past games,i wonder what other people think

Yes, it does have split-screen multiplayer for up to 2 people (possibly four).

No online multiplayer though.

I think after Deadlocked. It's not made by the main developer Insomniac Games though, but instead High Impact Games. This means it's not really part of IG's series.

High Impact Games is basically a team of a bunch of Ex-Insomniacs, or people who used to work at Insomniac Games. This is the same with the people who made Daxter for the PSP, only ND.

Insomniac still is working on the Ratchet games, it's just that a group of people at IG wanted their own team and made HIG, which made Size Matters and are making Secret Agent Clank.

Personally,I don't know why it would sound weird. Maybe it's because you're used to hearing it on the PSP instead of the PS2. Being a direct port the voice actors should be the same and stuff.

The story is exactly the same. The obvious difference is you are playing on a TV rather than a PSP.
