The best part of this video is the photo of Hasanah and her daughter and Yusuf and Fauzia. Although the sound quality of this song is a little rough, I think it's a beautiful song... :) Later!
when peace turns to hatred through islamic muslim conversion
people remember Cat Stevens fondly as the singer of "Peace Train" "Moonshadow" songs of love and peace in the 1970s and early 1980s. It is hard to equate Cat Stevens with Yusef Islam, while still an artist of considerable talent, wants to kill people out of religious frenzy not just Salman Rushdie but Cat said that he is agreeable to stoning women to death for adultery.
That has no doubt broken the hearts of millions of women
lots of people know about cat stevens/aka josef/yusuf-whatever his name, he's still the same person/albeit in my humble opinion a little off track, but i think the song is about his idea of god, whether he knows it or not-he's always sang about his idea of whatever you want to call god/allah/buddha/the supreme being/krishna
Wanna know more about ISLAM? See lecturs by: - Yusuf ESTES (Texas, USA) - Abdur rahim GREEN (UK) - Salem Al AMRY (UAE) - Assim Al HAKEEM (SA) - Yasir QADHI (USA) - Hussain YEE (Malaysia) - Ahmed DEEDAT (South Africa) - Musa CERANTONIO (Australia) - Abdullah Hakim QUIK (Canada) - Eddie (thedeenshow com) - Baba ALI (ummahfilms com) - Zakir NAIK (peacetv TV) - Khalid Yasin (Harlem, USA)
I really like Yusuf because he sings from his heart and he never says any thing bad about other people and he loves his family wich is really important.
I would respect everything he has done if it weren't for the arranged marraige. That does not fit antwhere in my line of thinking or faith or love. That is just wierd. I can't imagine.
he didn't have an arranged marriage...he brought 2 girls he was interested in making his wife home and asked for his mothers opinion...and he said her suggestion was the perfect choice...it wasnt arranged..just he involved his mother in the decision...good move i think..
and another thing (and i'm no relative of his wife!) is if yusuf islam is so gentle and wonderful today surely his wife is partly responsible for making his life nice.
don't be too hard on his wife-can you imagine being married to someone who women throw themselves at all the time?so it's understandable if she gets irratated sometimes.
His style hasn't changed at all! Btw, he's a very very nice guy, his wife however is not a nice person :P She's too big headed! She annoyed me and my friend when we took pictures with him
In the official video of Yusuf singing this song in a coffee house, someone opens a book to a chapter titled "The Light of Thy Countenance" which is a passage ttaken from Job in the Old Testament. I think he's expressing his love for God/Allah because the Creator is the Light of all Countenance.
i am pretty certain the new work is under 'Yusuf'. I saw the cover of the album and it says 'Yusuf' on it. But then again, I ain't no authority on the matter. I am yet to come across something that says it will be under 'Cat Stevens'
p.s. i didn't know people in italy knew about yusuf too. lol
Dear Waleed, thank you for the answer. Well, here in Italy Cat Stevens was well known of course... maybe, now that he's Yusuf, they are trying to avoid him and forget they had known him.
Anyway... the news about the "Cat Stevens" label came out on a music news website. Who knows... anyway...we'll enjoy his music, whatever the name he chooses.
Waleed, sorry for bothering again. I read somewhere that this next work will be published under the name of Cat Stevens and not Yusuf. Is it true? ok, I know. It's always him, it was a mere curiosity, maybe a bit more than that.
This is wonderful. It sounds so much like his early 70's work and I love the stripped down production this time around, than the last album which was a bit over the top in places. If this single is any indication this new album is going to be on par with his best work.
LOL!! I can't believe this. how'd u manage to tumble across this. this is so typical... my first comment on my first video comes from you. lol. except this time.... i wasn't expecting it at all.
anyhow, i just put the speakers next to microphone. just recorded it the old skool way. it turned out to be surprisingly decent.

I am a muslim but I actually do not like Yusuf's appearance tho.
But his music is still absolutely great...
Taygun89 2 years ago
Is there a defined appearance for Muslims?! Im a christian but Cliff Richard has terrible dress sense.....
Jdriftking 2 years ago 2
not in terms of the clothes they wear, but how they go about wearing it. its important that their appearance is modest and their bodies are covered.

@alienatedfreak23 I also heard him say that it was not the one he would have chosen.
He trusted his others wisdom.
