I like Short for his openmindedness, gaiety and gentleman attitude. There are not much chess geniuses you can talk to that way in an interview. This might seem biased to some commentators. But who's not biased here?

Well, if Short is of poor character, he certainly show much of it here. Sure he didn't break down in tears at the news of Fischer's death, but he also said very little that was negative against Fischer, who I feel he actually didn't appreciate too much outside of his chess. I thought he seemed to be a nice guy.

The interviewer on the other hand seemed to not understand chess very well... "So you just copied the openings from great players?" LOL.

Like Short says at the end , the weird thing is you play through BF's games and think gosh thats easy I could beat Leonid Stein ,Larsen or Gligoric just like that! and yet you can't ! It is similar with Capablanca and Morphy - though the further back in time the weaker the resistance was.
