I just left Iraq about 2 months ago spent 15 months over there supporting the troops as well as being a Vet myself. I know for a fact there is alot more good going on there then what people hear or see on the news. Some of the small things make the biggest difference. As for the city/town I was near both the Marines and the Army would take trips into town to bring medicine, clothes, school supplies, as well as help build homes and schools for the locals.

i only ask why we are even helping them rebuild their damn country. I thinkw e should get our soldiers outta there so they can stop dying for a bunch of muslims who are in the middle of a civil war. (no offense to muslims in general, but they are the most violent religion in the world.)

@paintballgeek1 We help them because it's the right thing to do. Lives are lives, no matter how different they live them. It's a moral obligation to us, maybe not to them, but to us.
When soldiers serve, they don't just serve the righteous, they serve everyone.

yeah, whenever i think about the war, that conflict comes into mind. Do we have a moral obligation to love and forgive our enemies and help them? Or should we give them what they deserve? If we can bring ourselves to love our enemies and help this broken country, then America is what it says it is, a great, noble country. If not, we're what our enemies call us: the Great Satan. I hope we can all realize that.

I just left Iraq about 2 months ago spent 15 months over there supporting the troops as well as being a Vet myself. I know for a fact there is alot more good going on there then what people hear or see on the news. Some of the small things make the biggest difference. As for the city/town I was near both the Marines and the Army would take trips into town to bring medicine, clothes, school supplies, as well as help build homes and schools for the locals.

Nope, but talked to plenty of Iraqis who were there under Saddam. They didn't seem to think too much of it before we "ruined" it. But what could one GI learn from everyone from Iraqi locals laying bricks up to high ranking police officials? Many of those kind of peole in Hastings?

I can tell you this much. The Iraqis welcomed us (The British) with open arms when I was there in the 1980s.
Now, an Englishman would probably be killed or at least kidnapped within a few weeks of arrival.

I have a story about that. I was driving a cab a few years ago here in England and three Iraqi Kurds got into my car. I heard them speaking arabic or farsi (I forget which) and asked where they were from.
I mentioned that I'd spent some time in Iraq and they asked me about it. I told them I was living out there when my Dad was helping design the Baghdad Metro System.
Then one of them said, "So while we were fighting Saddam, you were building the bunkers for him!"
We laughed so much.

BTY, I always felt bad for the kids who never knew a country free of conflict. But on the other hand I also felt bad for the ones who remember Saddam. Bottom line in reality is it's never pretty when nations resort to force of arms, right or wrong.

Have you ever risked IEDs and snipers to hand out school supplies to children who never had a chance to sit in a classroom before US forces liberated them from opressive governments? Didn't think so. Politicians and actors pose with children. US soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines make a real difference every day in the lives of lots of kids

First of all do not post anything that talks shit about our troops. A couple of the Marines in this Video have actually died fighting in the war on terror. One of them is my cousin. I dont like war and i wish we didnt have to get involved in it. But we did and I am standing right behind our troops!

You have no idea how the world really works do you? Organized religion is man's corruption of spirituality, there is no "God" that favors Israel. The US is an empire, we have bases in 130 out of the total 190 countries in the world. Israel was set up as a fortress to control the middle East, its really nothing to do with a Jewish homeland or that zionist bullshit. We went to Iraq because Saddam threatened to sell his oil in Euros which could have led to the collapse of the dollar.

Go back 60years and say that in the future, Germany and Japan will be some of our greatest allies and people would think you're nuts. But we too will witness a friendship with Iraqi and Afghan people and they will enjoy FREEDOM for the rest of their lives!

Yes, very nice! I know that God saw that, if just we could get this out to more people, then they woudnt get so serious about the propaganda abt the worst of the worst.
