  • It is interesting how rapid is the coupling, but it is also quite difficult for me to rely on this type of authomatic hook, maybe it could be too weak in case of sudden arrest of all the motors of the rear train

  • attelage automatique 'mecanique et electrique)scharffenberg ! prevu sur tout le materiel sncf

  • are TGV and ICE couplers compatible?

I'm pretty sure Shinkansen couplers are completely different from either TGV or ICE.

  • @ DocileBomb: the pba is the older version of the thalys!

  • It is the original Tahlys!

  • we know how does the original Thalys look like. we also know, that the original Thalys is red and has got the "Thalys" written on the powerhead ;)

  • mooi :p

  • What is the difference between the PBA and PBKA sets?

  • The TGV PBA is a 3-(electric)system TGV and the TGV PBKA is a 4- system TGV.

  • PBA were the first gen, it stands for Paris-Brussels-Amsterdam.

PBKA means Paris-Brussels-Köln (Cologne)- Amsterdam, and are compatible with German electric system.

The two are easily recognizable as PBA trains have a more squared design at the front.

  • And the German signalling system, of course!

  • 4342 looks like a nice and fast train!!!

  • thats how easy it should be.

  • Cool! O_O

  • Can the PBA and the PBKA sets ride together?

  • Yes, as long as they're not going to Cologne (Koeln)!

  • Thanks for the info :)
