  • The grandfathers of MTV before MTV. They led the way to even have the first music video's. They filmed the songs and sent them to TV.

  • Not the Beatles even though they look like them. Beatles music, just lip synced. You want good Beatles tribute band, fill tour ears with some Rain.

  • i wish they were together and the ones that are dead i wish they were still alive. it must have been AWESOME to see them in concert

  • "Live on Ed Sullivan" Scam click!

  • Ah, if I'm not mistaken, the Liverpool Legends. Greatest tribute band in existence, saw these guys in branson back in July. Just incredible.

  • This... was sexy.

  • Georges hat!

  • Pioneers of music videos. lol love em'

  • uhmm not on the Ed show nor live...see Mr kenfigs comments and others as well. wierd how the gossip things evolve....wonder what they will be saying about the BeatLes when all of us old guys are gone ( and our memories)

  • This was not done live. They lipsynced, filmed it and sent it to the Ed Sullivan Show for broadcast.

  • This song was released as a single in November 1967,from please please me to this in 3 years, quite a transformation.

  • @NAFIANNA10 Probably not

  • @44t56 Absolutely not. This was filmed at The Saville theatre London without an audience as the official promo film for the already recorded song

  • Hey guys..it's The Beatles :)

  • "Live"????

  • 2:34 it looks like john is making fun of pauls dancing! ahah

  • Put em on da map!

  • 1) Why the mini-drum kit?, and, 2) Is it my imagination, or is this version of "Hello, Good-bye" slightly slower?

  • lol john looks thrilled to be playing the guitar.

  • Bow down world and humble yourself before the greatest collection of musical talent this planet will ever see and wont ever see again, count yourself lucky you were around for it folks

  • @lightowler1 Bowing and humbling? A bit extreme, and not my style, so I don't think so. I will, however, enjoy the music whenever I wish to play it.

  • Haha, just disscovered. Pause the video, then press 2, then press 3 really fast. BEATLE DANCE :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

  • Ahhh, I love it when George is shimmying his jacket off :D:D:D

  • George looks very uncomfortable...

  • I love the Beatles. They're my favourite band. Although they broke up before I was born, I've been listening to them since I was a kid. I will never get tired of them. Having said that, there are some Beatle songs I get a bit tired of before they're actually over. This is one of them. Basically, one verse and one chorus and I've had enough, thanks, Paul.

  • @lexo30 you mean thanks, faul

  • Great to see this again - It was filmed for the experimental film The Beatles put together on their own for the "Magical Mystery Tour" British TV special. I guess this clip was also shown on Ed Sullivan and/or "Hollywood Palace," - but it wasn't "Live on the Ed Sullivan Show" as this video's been labeled. Obviously it's not live, and that's not the stage at the Ed Sullivan theatre. - Just wanted to point that info out.

    RB

  • they're all stoned out of their gord. lennon never liked the song, and it showed in his face.

  • @dnsla23 I'm sure he cooled his jets when it went #1!

  • this must be the slow version?????

  • I thought Hello Goodbye was released at the end of 1967, after both Pepper and Magical Mystery Tour.

  • I remember being completely blown away when I saw this performance on Ed Sullivan. It was the beginning of Sgt Peppers and the psychedelic era that followed. Is it fair to say that this was also the beginning of music videos??

  • CLASSIC STUFF! THX! Goddamn they were GREAT!

  • John does a mean twist!

  • pre recorded

  • This aint the Ed Sullivan Show -.- They stopped doing shows in 1966. This is the music video -.-

  • THE BEATLES MAKE 240 WATCHABLE

  • It doesnt look like george is playing the guitar

  • I don't think this was from the Ed Sullivan show, and it's certainly not live, great song and the best band ever however.

  • @gypsydog24 The Beatles made music videos or Promo's they called back then and sent them out to be shown on TVshows like Ed Sullivan.

  • william cambels getting good at bass

  • @GibsonYui ah ha ha ha ha :)

  • @GibsonYui Nah. Paul McCartney's always been a bass beast.

  • @pigfarts992 When Stu Sutcliffe left the band in the early days to pursue his art career, Paul was forced to play bass. Something George refused to do. Poor Paul. But he did it and never complained. What a great guy he was and still is.

  • @GibsonYui I don't know why you say Goodbye, I say Hello!

  • 2:52 SHAKE THAT ASS!

  • I'll stay till it's time to go... no don't Faul. We needed you.

  • Check out Paul's eyes at 1:30. So cute!

  • I didn't know for sure if they were lip syncing or not, but I was convinced at 0:30-0:32 when Paul failed at it while attempting to say "Hello, Hello" But I'm not angry as I would be for one of today's so-called stars cuz THIS IS HILARIOUS. XD

  • @muzikk67 It was lip synced, but thats because it's basically a music video

  • Check out John's imitation of Elvis at 1:37!

  • I remember this on Ed Sullivan.... Was fantastic!

  • I love goerges hat

  • I loved the thing at the end that John and Paul did it's so cool

  • Press 5 continueously.

It look's like Ringo's pissed and saying alright!

  • so much amazing gif material in this video

  • 637 Likes... 21 Dislikes... Good try Justin Bieber Fans

  • 1:36 - Lennon taking the piss:D

  • You can see that John is hating this very much, he always hated this song, not at least because it was very ditty-like and that it stole the spotlight from his "I Am The Walrus"

  • To learn how to hear the hidden messages in Beatles songs, search "Truth Contest" in Google and click the 1st result, then open The Present and read through the section about The Beatles.

  • omg love the ending laughed my butt off :)

  • lol the close up on george

  • I do ADORE the dancing at the end! I will do this with my best friend next time we go to a club!

  • Press 6 for epic Paul moves! Haha.

  • Excellent sound quality.

  • who in hell made those clothes??!! THEY R MESSED UP!

  • @dewstar100 for the time those clothes were ultra cool.......after 50 years of dark suits and white shirts

  • i think the bad lip syncing was something to do with the musicians union

  • please tell me if that isn't a left handed rickenbacker bass played frickin' right handed!!

  • @soulous1 no, thats a lefty Rick......look at where the control knobs are.....on the bottom....and the neck of course is facing lefty...........but......i have seen a number of photos and videos where paul is playing a righty "acoustic" guitar with the strings switched for lefty

  • I loved so many songs the I didn't know the beetles sang

  • @sirwob

    Mate brush your teeth

I didn't say at any point that they weren't awesome cause they were so gtf

    There no swears :)

  • I personally like their original outfits. Just plain. The colorful stuff is cool and all, but still....

  • Here who actually gives a fuck wether it was made for MMT or not it's still an awesome video.

  • @JoshWrTV people discuss Beatles BECAUSE they were awesome, get a clue you foul-mouthed simpleton

  • this was just a music video, not an appearance

  • Guys, these are their Sgt. Pepper outfits.

  • sad how some of you folks have to use such hurtful words to beat down upon another who just wants to feel as good as the rest of us because that is how The Beatles made us feel with their awesome music. If people and gov'ts and the mindless greed from wallstreet types could duplicate even a tiny fraction of what the beatles did.. the world would be at peace. but wait.. a friend just hit me with a frying pan upon me noggin and alas.. i awake from my fantasy..dang... least i still got the music.

  • This song has some incredible drum fills...

  • this aint ed sullivan show

  • Ringo is sooooooooooo baked!

  • Paul got engaged to this girl that is like 17 years younger than him...I heard it on the radio today... OH well, lol :)

  • Ringo looks high as fuuuuck!

  • Comment removed

  • @itsbridgetlogann lol, I read your comment and when I scrolled up, it was 1:44, a close up of Ringo. I thought... "wow he does look high!" Then he started to shake his head and smile and move his lips, as if he were telling me "No, no! I'm not high *smile*" hahaha

  • 2:58 awesome George! And 3:02 John's funny dance! Love them all!

  • George looks like a young Captain Hook lol

  • Paul is really bad at lip syncing

  • @beatleobsessed99 better than john's

  • @beatleobsessed99 YouTube is worse!

  • @beatleobsessed99 Doesn't matter, cause he's sexy :)

  • @beatleobsessed99 Paul is dead :-)

  • @beatleobsessed99 you mean faul is bad at lip syncing

  • ringo needs smaller drums

  • the beatles hello goodbye live on ed sullivan show ....The word LIVE is a tad deceiving

  • hmmm, is it me or John seemed kinda drunk at 1:35

    P.S I love Paul's Expression

  • I question if this is The Ed Show!!!

  • The Beatles did not perform live anymore, however, they did SOMETHING for their loyal audience. Although we were somewhat saddend that it wasn't like the Ed Sul (really, what was that guy - he didn't do anything) livan Show. It doesn't matter, though. The group made some of the most unique sounds of the day, with the help of producer George Martin. rockongeorgieh gets the win!

  • Faul couldnt play the bass left-handed very well in 1967, thats really why they stopped touring and went into hiding. its amazing how people dont recognise that that is not Paul Mccartney...

  • @studio9jam You do know that the entire Faul thing was just something done for Publicity right? Paul McCartney never died.

  • I don't believe it is a live

  • The best "8-Track" was Magical Mystery Tour, and for some reason, my parents bought that and the eight track player with it. It had 4 channels and I could tell all four tracks that the wizard genious George produced. Guess which George?

  • @fleondodgen That would be George martin

  • Ringo always looks stoned haha. I wish i could of experienced the LSD infested decade of the 60s.

  • pause this then press 2 and 3 really fast :)

  • @beatleobsessed99 hahahahahahha

  • @beatleobsessed99 Best stop motion trick ever

  • @beatleobsessed99 that's so aw4esome!! hahaha

  • @beatleobsessed99 now pause and press 1 >:D

  • Every time i see the Beatles preform live, i start crying because it's so beautiful and i can't help it.

  • ¢6

  • Paul cuuuutttteeee!!!¡!!!!!!!!

  • what's with the tiny drum set???

  • @cciemail Ringo needs it

  • Paul looks a bit like Brandon Flowers from the killers in this video

  • never really noticed it, but all four of the Beatles were scrawny fellows

  • this is slowed down... a lot. unless of course the original recording is sped up... who knows.. the beatles used to mess with the tape speed all the time.

  • brilliant, britain had talent!

  • Haha, starting 1:19, watching Ringo play the drums in that suit. :P

  • IF ONLY THEY COULD HAVE WROTE THERE OWN SONGS.

  • @LarryFogarty -are you touched? they wrote 90 % of all their songs!

  • This was "recorded" live

  • At first i thought this was the Ed Sullivan show, then i remembered i was tripin on acid..!

  • This is not a live performance.

  • They all look so so so high o.O Paul at 1:29 , George at 1:15 , John at 3:01 and Ringo at 1:45

  • For those of you not sure of when or where this happened - 10 November 1967. Saville Theatre, London. Grab that colourful attire!! Unique even to this day!! No other group has ever given more style, more depth and more variety to popular music. Their material will live forever!! One of the greatest (if not THE greatest) contributions from the best decade ever!! I feel so proud of having been part of that great explosion!!

  • Goddamn I love those outfits :D

  • Ringo looks so bored on the drums.

  • The best band ever how can u people listen to pop crap thats not real music u assholes

  • this is absurd. i can see why they got tired of doing this kind of shit. i guess it helped sell records.

  • 1:30 lol oh Paul. :P

  • 1:35 THIS IS MY HUSBAND! ♥

  • Where's the Hofner bass?

  • @billace90 Paul switched to a Rickenbacker in the physcadelic age :D

  • dude its not real its from the movie magical mystery tour

  • Nobody is playing or singing anything!

It's shocking that in 2011 People still cant tell when somebody is lip singing or faking playing an Intstrument.

  • Nobody is playing or singing anything!

It's shocking that in 2011 People still cant tell when somebody is lip singing or faking playing an Intstrument!

  • love it when the drums kick in properly

  • What is the bass Paul is using?

also were can i get suits like that?

  • I love these lip synced clips ... They predate 'music videos', and frankly aren't much different for what existed in early MTV years .... kinda crude, yeah ... But still pretty cool to see them in the psychedelic era ....

  • i love pauls face at 1:30... so cute....

  • I guess George thinks he's a member of Paul Revere and the Raiders

  • Paul missed a "why"

  • OK, whoever put this up needs to get their facts straight. This wasn't from the Ed Sullivan Show, it was from the movie "Magical Mystery Tour". And all you people namecalling, calling each other 'old', 'idiots', etc. need to get a life.

  • @dhucke4assembly This song was never performed in Magical Mystery Tour. This is one of three promo films that were shot for the song. It aired on The Ed Sullivan show on November 26, 1967. The tail-end of the song was used over the closing credits of Magical Mystery Tour, as seen when the movie (originally shown in black and white) was broadcast on Boxing Day, 1967.

  • @meanderer06513 none-the less dhucks is right, this was made for the MMT movie

  • @sirwob no - this was not filmed for Magical Mystery Tour. The movie was shot between September 11 and September 25, 1967 - the promos for "Hello Goodbye" (directed by Paul) were shot November 10th, at the Saville Theatre in London. The song itself, although it ended up in on the movie soundtrack EP, was never in the MMT movie in its entirety. Only the tail end of the song. Look it up.

  • @meanderer06513 I looked it up and bow to your knowledge......ty

  • @dhucke4assembly But this was the video shown on the Ed Sullivan show, even if it was taken from the film.

  • @theredraven No sir, it was not from the Ed Sullivan Show.

  • @orgorg7 Yes it was, the footage was shown on the Ed Sullivan Show, watch the Anthology 7

  • @orgorg7 yes it was
