AIC was a huge influence on Metallica during the '90's whether that's a good or bad thing is your call. Honestly though James wishes he had half the talent Jerry has in my opinion, and the new AIC ROCKS!!!!! \m/
Jerry should have told Metallica to go fuck themselves after they made fun on Layne's addiction on stage. I loved Metallica but lost tons of respect after they did that shit.
Im totally with you..you dont make fun of that shit...metallica open my eyes to metal but lost my respect with that bullshit..its a long road to redemption
@Dwyerm1 Metallica did a lot of stupid shit back then. James probably had too many beers that night. I think now he regrets what happened in the past. It's part of sobriety in my eyes.
Jerry is so good at harmonizing vocals. All that practice with Layne. He's definitely one of, if not the best 'backup' singers out there, he could definitely do vocals if he wanted.
He really does do the bulk of the vocals on the New Alice in Chains album. You need to check out his solo work on the Albums Degradation Trip and Boggy Depot. After listening to these you will see how much Jerry's vocals are prominent in AIC and it really showcases his true talent
Man...I would LOVE to see a Metallica/Alice tour next year. Granted, the true Alice died with Layne, but hey...what can you do? Jerry is still rocking. He's only gotten better as the years have come and gone. Definitely one of my favorite musicians.
yeah man i was there great fucking gig if only it was layne singin with alice in chains instead of the new duvail cunt though was still kick ass to see jerry sean and mick rockin it out, metallica played awsome to
Alice in Chains ain't around anymore. They may still be playing music, without the original four, it just isn't Alice in Chains. They all put so much into the band that to take even one away, it just tore the whole thing down.
Yeah they toured together a long time ago when they were Alice In Chains. Now, I wouldn't go see them as long as they have Duvall up there. I'm sorry, I just can't watch/listen to him without getting pissed off.
Im a Huge Metallica Fan, Nothing Else Matters is a song that James wrote to a girlfriend and tells the difficulties of being on tour and miss a dear person.
James wrote the lyrics, melodies and the solos.
Kirk a an awesome guitar player. If you dont think that, you dont know Metallica. But who is better is a thing that only yourselves can tell.
I agree playing the guitar isn't about how fast you can play it, and thats why I think most of his solos suck donky balls...All of Jerrys solo's have emotion put into them..and it just grind my gears when his "Nutshell" solo is # like 50 all time solos, I'm mean for real if you ever seen him play that solo live it's amazing
Wrong, James plays quite a few solos for example the one in Nothing Else Matters, and the beginning one with a fuck load of feel to it in Master of Puppets
Jerry is better then Kirk, he is a hell of a better song writer then Kirk will ever be majority of kirks solos are bullshit nothing much that will pull you in, but I will give him this solo it's his best work
two of the greatest guitar players and singers of all time

And AIC still sounds GREAT; they were awesome when they played here in 2007, Duvall did a fantastic job w/Layne's lyrics.
Jeff2870 3 years ago
They did in 1991 (AIC opened) and part of their US tour in 1993. But I'd like for them to do it again. Touring together is how they became friends.

and I don't think lars can play guitar :p

well... James wrote the whole song <.< Lars is credited on the recording because he and James are the founding members of the band.

then wouldnt lars be credited on every tallica song ? he isnt credited on motorbreath.
Plus, lars at that time period, do you really think he would play drums that he didnt write ? :p

remember that Kirk and Jerry are also two distinct genre players. Kirk plays fast while Jerry plays with Emotion, and some speed.
