You can piss pac-man off, and when he is extremely mad, you can try to make the ghosts come out, watch them trying to scare pac-man and they can't. Its is pretty funny.

You can also piss off the hot dog vendor by shooting him with the slingshot. He would bang the counter with a fork or something to get Pac Man's attention, then douse him with ketchup in retaliation. Pretty funny.

This game was so sad for me as a kid. I never knew what to do, so pacman would always be moping and crying slowly.

I'd shoot him with pellets and he would cry more.

The farmer rejected him, and he would cry more.

Other things happened, and he would cry more.

He became more and more miserable as I struggled in figuring out what the fuck to do, and eventually I got depressed and sold the game.

I will never forget that sadness and desire to stop the "adventure".

Much funnier in other locations. In the mountains and city (sour grapes), he will jump in the water and spit out a fountain! He won't ever get out though. In the factory (falling off conveyor belt) he will be caught by the crane and packaged! (unless you shoot the crane after it grabs him)

I never thought of shooting the tree in the park! That is fucking hilarious, man! This game goes down as one of my favorites of all time because of it's pure hilarity.

My favorite moments, for the record, is when you are in the mountains (or sewers) and at the minecart, If you shoot the minecart while pac-man is in a good mood, it will roll off, and pac-man will chase after it, briefly going into the mine cart section on foot!

It hasn't been re-released yet, but it's certainly within the realm of possibility for a Virtual Console rerelease. The cartridge isn't too hard to get online though if you can't wait.

In the forest at the mountain area (the one with the butterfly), you can actually make 5 of those caterpillars fall from a tree by making pac-man kick it when he's very angry. Freaked me out the first time I did that.
