This poor fucking child! This kills me. He is too damn fragile to be out there. You can tell he was once really nice looking, and he still looks attractive, but that life has taken a toll on him.
I live in Calgary and when you said you couldn't believe how cold it was and that it was around 0 degrees, trying sleeping on the streets when it is -25 or -30 Celcius which it is alot in Calgary, thank God for our chinooks and the Calgary Homeless Foundation. That project of finding a home for people before dealing with their addictions is such a good idea. Alot of homeless are addicts or alcoholics for decades so to try to get them sober while in that environment is next to impossible.
@MsCatfur I agree with you, when it gets to -30 its just cold enough to freeze hell over. and even though i have a nice warm russian fur hat called ushanka and its still really cold and you know those russian hats are made for Cold russian siberian wheather and boy its cold in calgary.
Alcohol does not make you warm. It is sad people are on the street and in a country where we have so much. Get out there and volunteer and help anywhere and everywhere you can. The smallest thing, could be the biggest to someone in need. Mark you rock, keep up the good work.
Do they have lockers at shelters? If not, I for one think they should, and they should be large enough to hold a cart load of items per person, this might solve the problem of having items stolen while trying to rest at a shelter.
Man.. in Canada too :( and for some reason it's as if everywhere shelters are just worthless. Being on the streets is better than those shelters. It's so cold in Canada.. and 21 years freezing. To him home must be something he can't remember.
So many freeze to death in the winter..........we need to make people aware, so something can be done. There are things happening now, and hopefully we can get more politicians to do more.
I lived in Lethbridge which is south of Calgary close to Montana the winters are so frigid long and brutal .
