  • love rebas songs great singer as well

  • me and my mom love this song we are born on this song

  • I am not the stuff of which groupies are made and although I deeply admire talent I'd never intrude on the privacy of a celebrity. But I've always felt it would be a good thing to know Reba McIntire.

  • @deriter64 McEntire**

  • @SelenaQuintanillaxo Sorry, I didn;t mean to offend you but I don't type well and am dyslexic so I muddle things now and again. All I wanted was to express my appreciation for a beautiful artist. Again, sorry.

  • @deriter64 no big deal! it just get's annoying when people constantly miss spell her last name. Lol

  • I can't wait to hear Kim Kardashian cover this track on her new album "born a souther girl" I know it's Kim K but she'll do an awesome job.

  • Reba is truly the only women who can make a song about prostitution sound this good nd classy.

  • Reba is a legend of the times now an then

  • this song is seriously..still fucking awesome

  • 57 people dont own a heart

  • I am so sick of everyone telling people don't listen to bieber of kesha or gaga! Everyone has their own opinion, and is free to choose what music style they like not because they don't listen to what you do mean they don't know music for crying out loud it is a different generation!! So STFU and enjoy the music you like!!! If you don't like these people you are sure giving them a lot of publicity by mentioning them in every friggin comment you make!!P.S Love you Reba!! <3

  • Inspiration in the form of pure country. And sung by the best country artist I grew up on and will ever hear, Reba. This song is one of the first that taught me I could change my life if I wanted to. And that I could change the world. "Don't let me down now." I don't plan to, Mama. :)

  • Reba's a friggin legend!!! I <3 and respect her

  • Katie Melua has a nice cover of this song.

  • PEOPLE DONT WANT TO BELIEVE THINGS LIKE THIS REALLY HAPPENED BUT IT DID AND STILL DOES!!

  • @lilmiss985 Again, your comments are oblivious to the fact that this is a video. It was clearly made this way to bring to peoples attention that some people are living off garbage and hope while others are living over their means in life. Grow up, realize that this is a video to stir people like you up!

  • @CGassien You said it yourself this is a video. Don't read anything else into it. It is a great song song by a great artist.

  • love love love love reba she is has a voice of an angle

  • im young and love reba yeah!!!!!!

  • Wait so what did the mom send "Fancy" out to do?

  • @SylvverInWonderland her mom sent her out for a better life XD

  • @natashaobrien1 Exactly, the mother did what she could to ensure that her children were going to live after she starved to death or died of illness!

  • i so want to name my next baby fancy but i want to ti spell it different :)

  • You say Lady Gaga, I say Lady Antebellum.

You say Jason Derulo, I say Jason Aldean.

    You say T-Pain, I say T-Swift

You say Ke$ha, I say Kenny.

You say Pitbull, I say Paisley.

You say Justin Bieber, I say Justin Moore and go grow a pair.

92% of teenagers have turned to Hip Hop and Pop.If you are part of the 8% that still listen to real music, copy and paste this message to another 3 videos. Stop being a idiot and start listening to real music!!!THUMBS UP IF YOU BELIEVE

  • @Xxhlb123xX maybe some people, were not raised listening to Country music, which is why you have a whole channel dedicated to you all, CMT just like there is BET for Rap, Hip Hop & R&B...I LOVE Lady Gaga, yet I still know who Reba is & I'm 22

  • @Xxhlb123xX Shut up, stop caring about other people liking what you don't like, and enjoy the song.

  • @Xxhlb123xX I listen to real music, and its not your crap, I mean new age country. I'm talking good music like rock and punk!

  • @theblackparad14 - -___ - - that has nothing to do with COUNTRY

  • @theblackparad14 Punk is NOT GOOD MUSIC!!. As far as Rock music that depends on what kind of rock music.

  • @Xxhlb123xX thisdosn't make sense

  • It's about this girl who was sent off to be a prostitute....

  • @JustinBieberFan11450 Actually its not.

  • @Xxhlb123xX Music is all kinds. You may not like Pop but others do. So stfu and how about u grow a pair? If someone like's Justin Beiber, go on LET THEM HAVE HIM and stick to good ol' country. Ur spamming and being stereotypic, someone could downright LOVE Country but still like Pop so buzz off

  • @Xxhlb123xX

you open your mouth, I say Kreayshawn Stole Yo' Bitch!

  • @Xxhlb123xX Gotta love Country!

  • Comment removed

  • @Xxhlb123xX no one on your list represents hip-hop, hip-hop has been dead on the radio for a while now, but I know what your saying.

  • @Xxhlb123xX up x 1 million

  • @Xxhlb123xX ....I listen to all of it. And I love most of it. What percent am I?

  • @Xxhlb123xX not true 99 percent of kids in my town listin to country

  • @Xxhlb123xX there's no such thing as "real music". everyone has their preferences.get over yourself.

  • This song was recorded maybe 20 years ago at least. It is a song that was written sometime even before Reba recorded it. If I remember right it was written by Bobbie Gentry and she recorded maybe lat 60's or early 70's. Get over it already. It doesn't promote anything but good country music from a great entertainer.

  • @faceprecious I should have said great country music from a great entertainer.

  • LOl 51 people secret got exposed!

  • roach ran across the tip of her ivory shoe? the shoes wewe red. hmm just sayin

  • @KR1386 im 14 and i dont think she is sending a bad message to kids, shes just telling people how life was for her!! my dad grew up with 8 older brothers and sisters ,he was the youngest and had to take care of them and his mom and they were rly poor so you need to back off its not her fault that they didntr have enough money to live and she had to be a prostitute and shesnot like a country kim kardashian!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @sara14911 I'm 13 and that's the same for me,but is not my mom or dad that went through it its me to this day

  • @KR1386 she is far from kim reba is an inspirationaly women and role model and an incredible country singer so stfu

  • @KR1386 So she does everything publicity? Kim Kardashian isn't teaching kids to be prostitutes, she's an attention whore. This song is the only occasion Reba ever did anything like this anyways.

Why does every song have to be some sort of lesson?

This is a STORY. It's hardly a nice one, if you can only handle nice little fairy tales, I suggest you get off the internet.

  • @KR1386 shut the fuck up and dont put stuff like this!!

  • @KR1386 Remember haters like you just makes her even more famous then he already is.Plus you shold be jealous she is a better person then you'll ever be.Also don't give me that crap about not being jealous of her because u know right well you are.You were just wasting your time and ours.

  • @KR1386 Reba is an inspiration to everyone, and kim's just... yeah. Reba rocks. And most kids wouldn't understand this, anyway. I didn't until I was 13/14.

  • I'm an old man with a little in print;and not the stuff groupies are made of but if I had my choice of people to sit down and have a coffee with Reba McEntire would head the list.

  • Reba is beautiful and always will be at any age!

  • This song almost..fits me lol.. something simillar lol

  • who would hate Reba McEntire i mean really

  • @ccgp13 I actually heard the He is Legend version first and then came searching for this one!

  • by far rebas best song

  • Wait, thats Reba, not Fancy!!!

  • Listen to "He is legend" cover, is pretty fucking nice, well, for those who like metal.

  • I can't stand country music, but I like this song, and I like Reba.

  • my dad loves this song

  • This is why I love country, there's so much soul poured into these songs - it's about the stories they tell and the message they send. And it's hard to say that about any other genre of music.

  • i get this song grew up the same way turned 16 left home with 100 dollars 72 chevy truck plastic bag of clothes moms home made bread and a 3 legged dog killed myself to make it put brother and sister through college now i own 4 houses and my own company and im still under 30 years old only in america love you mom

  • Driving to WalMart with my coworker (we're both 19 year old guys) and this song came one... when it hit the first "Here's your one chance Fancy, don't let me down!", we both surprised each other by busting it out in falsetto. Needless to say, our friendship just became real. Reba- the best.

  • Back when music actually had a message and a story. Miss stuff like this.

  • I LOVE THIS LOVE, THAT MY PATCHES.

  • Do voices get any better than this. I think not. Reba's voice ROCKS

  • still to this day love it!!!

  • i cryed when i listen to this song

  • Everyone told her dont release it but she did and the result an amazing song and video

  • wow 1991 I am getting so old! lol

  • 'I might've been born just plain white trash, but Fancy was my name!" I scare people when this part comes up because I belt it the best I can lol

  • @heathermcd89 I don't know if I scare people, but when I karaoke it at one of the karaoke spots, I belt it out to the best of my abilities as well. This is my all time favorite song by her and when I sing it, I sing because I just cannot do anything else. That is my JAM!!! LOL!

  • To Thine Own Self Be True.

  • this song is about a poor family that her mother sent her to be a prostittute but she "charmed" the man and now is rich, years later she comes back to the house and learns to forgive her mother.

  • @TheShaebebaby no, everything is true but the prostitute part. she sent her to a rich mans house to try and have her daughter a good life and hopes she catches his eye because she couldn't take of her anymore.

  • @heathermcd89 SHE DIDNT GET HER GOOD LIFE FOR FREE.... THERE IS A PRICE TO PAY FOR EVERYTHING IN LIFE... LISTEN TO THE SONG.. BE NICE TO THE GENTLEMEN FANCY AND THEY WILLL BE NICE TO U!! JUST MY OPINION ON WHAT I HEARD IN THE SONG!!

  • @lilmiss985 was there a need for the caps? i know what happens in the song; i've been listening to it since i was born in 92.

  • @lilmiss985 Honestly, how stupid can you be? This is not based on a true story, especially not on Reba's life! Why don't you look up this song on Google and it will bring you to questions and answers regarding this song. People are not oblivious that stuff like this happened but at least the mother was smart enough to tell 'Fancy' to leave and find a better life. The baby was taken into protective custody and the mother died knowing she saved her childrens life. Wake up, its a video!

  • @TheShaebebaby don't mind my last statement i wrote you. sorry.

  • Shame on America , Shame on MainStream Media of America

its very hard and sad to watch so many good American folks are living in such condition in a rich wealthy nation as America

  • @Seraj1964 but if you think about it, most wealthy people came from places like that. And 90% of the time they donate money so people won't be forced to live in places like that.

  • i always cry when i hear this

  • damn it , im crying again !!!!!

  • I love this song I love all her songs ~<3 <3 <3 <3 <3~

  • โห ตอนสาวๆโครตสวยเลย

  • this is the best song ever reminds me of my mom was 5 when she past away i love u mom rip nancey leigh jipson "1966-1992"

  • i love this song:)

  • I remember growing up on songs like this.

  • Was Fancy Written By Reba Mcentire Or Dolly Parton?

  • @RainbowFrogKid It was written by Boby Gentry i think thats how you spell her name

  • @wizard101jospeh Bobbie Gentry

  • @kajunbaby5 thank never could get her name straight... :)

  • @RainbowFrogKid Neither one!!

  • Do often find a country song I like, This is far in-away my favorite of country music; a powerful song backed by powerful music and a powerful, exceptional Voice

  • music is poetry we are all different and we all are going to interpret it different. the whole point of music or poetry is touch your soul. so why not let it be.

  • she may have beenborn just plain white trash but fancy was her name! i love that line. i sometimes feel like that

  • Only country singer I can stand <3

  • For those of you thinking that this isn't about a mother turning her daughter out to be a prostitute: I guess you missed the lyric where "...a benevolent man took me off the streets...I charmed a king, a congressman, etc...etc...etc..." Either you are all deaf or practice selective hearing.

  • @gooangel2 um she said charmed not have sex with 0.0 also at the start the guy said she was an movie star and singer

  • @wizard101jospeh AND You missed the part about that "benevolent man taking her off the streets". Listen to the song again...Why would she be "on the streets" unless she was a prostitute? Besides that, when the video was released, it had to get past the FCC so of course they were going to have the coversation with the cabbie, but if you want to live in a fantasy world, go right ahead... YOU keep ignoring the part about her being on the street...

  • @gooangel2 um off the streets?Prostitutes are not only ones on the streets also the "benevolent man taking her off the streets" is a manager not a pimp she also says very soon later she had a mansion and you dont get a mansion from being prostitute.Anyway i really dont care what you think.

  • @wizard101jospeh You can rest assured that the feeling is mutual. Also, many a madam has had a mansion so you can continue to believe your fantasy. I'll take the original writer's interpretation...By the way...How did you interpret the lines about "...Mama turning me out..." That makes it rather clear I think...If you did your research on the matter, you would know that many stations banned it when Bobbie Gentry did it for the fact that it WAS about prostitution alone...Do you homework. I did

  • @gooangel2 Yes thats what Bobbie Gentry did but Reba made the video have a different story
