47 coincidences? wow, that's a lot. FYI, 47 is the number of songs whose tune Pritam has copied. These three videos from Cinoshmathew have not revealed all the songs he has copied.
BTW, to know who are the original ones, whether Pritam or the foreign songs, you just have to check the released date of the songs. Those songs were released years before Pritam's versions.

well, i've checked a few of these on wikipedia and google, etc, and the chinese/korean ones came first. I haven't checked all of them, but I'm willing to bet the same.
Secondly, the familiarities on most of these are way too close to be considered a coincidence.

@PrincessParized, when hollywood or others copy Hindi music, they usually give credit to the original Hindi composers, they don't claim it as their own original composition. While Pritam, he doesn't acknowledge the original composers, he lied by claiming them as his own composition and pretended that he worked so hard to compose the tune. It's like the difference between "quoting Shakespeare" and "claiming Shakespeare's work as your own work".

I really like some of Pritam songs but alas now I know they are just cheap copies. This left a soar taste in my mouth. Anyone who is still supporting Pritam does not understand how much effort and time goes in to making a musical master piece and that pritam is not only making a fool out of us (audiance) but is also cheating the original song writers.

I heard the first song in an Indian salon and was like "Damn, this sounds like JTL!" but I thought that maybe it was JTL had sampled cuz I don't regularly listen to Indian music so I had no idea how old the song was.
You won't find a video for "My Lecon" they never made a video for it, but it did most certainly come out in 2001.

I am shattered! I knew that Pritam has copied one or songs but I had no idea about this many. I have no problem with copying songs but one has to have the guts to acknowledge it. Can't entirely blame Pritam as he is maintaing the tradition of his predecesors who have copied unnumerable songs from the great Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and ended up banning him from Mumbai studios in the end.

Every time I hear a song from Pritam, I get the feeling that he's copied it from some middle eastern or south east asian original. Thanks for confirming my doubts! :) Its one thing to be inspired, quite another thing to blatantly copy like Pritam does.

I don't think there is any harm in taking inspirations...otherwise how could one have heard such good numbers that never got any recognition...what sucks is not giving the credit to the person who originally deserves it. Stealing is the worst thing on this earth and great job done by putting together all the videos...all the best
