in 1920 this was scifi wtf a kind of spaceship... a gate to the new era of hitech imagine been in that era of titanic and cars fast as a scooter,, then gonna inside that build and feels like 2001 aso, bladerunner, minority report.. imagine how strong it has to be for those minds..
I remember that I rendered this building by using some program. I like the motivation and the way it looks. It looks very fancy. But I cannot smell humans' lives inside. This building seems to has a meaning for just itself not for human.
FELICIDADES ! / What you are doing, naturally must touch the heart of people. You are making constant simbiosys betwen two best forms of Art created by the Man: MUSIC and ARCHITECTURE at the same time. CONGRATULATIONS !!
if you wanna see some modern architecture like that in cinema i suggest you some Ernst Lubitsch's movie like "design for life" (1933) or "Ninotchka" (1939)
I get what you mean about the building. How we interpret architecture is entirely subjective and there is no right and wrong, only like and dislike. I think though, that one has to look at what else was being built at the time to appreciate why this building is so radical. It is lacking in intricacy but that is why the distillation of light and form is so beautiful.
On an intellectual I understand why Corbusier is so important .. he, more than anyone, stripped architecture of its elitism and brought it to the people .... however for sheer poetry of architecture there is no greater genius than that of FLWs.
It´s cold cause nobody live here. Today the house is like a museum. But its a masterpiece, a house that teach the world about light, about enviroment, about windows and structures. Wright and Mies are kids, go(o)d kids. Corbusier are a man, a bad man that makes best things.
muy buen video, excelente resolución, geniales las fotos y además grandes canciones de fondo! ^^ (especialmente la última de Naruto ^^U), gracias por el video! thank you for the video!! (I don't know much english, sorry ^^U)
I'm a mechanical engineer, but to come face to face with this masterpiece almost brought tears to my eyes: It's that magnificent. Altough it feels like a 60s home, looking at the hardware is shocking: That's what makes you realize it was built 80 years ago. Cozy, however, it's definitely not. Mme. Savoye was right: I am certain it must be unlivable. However, Le Corbusier was right too, when he told her instead of trying to live in it, she should have shown it. I'm glad it's been preserved.
There is no luxury in La Villa Savoye. It, like his other works, is a "machine for living." Its every form has a defined function. Luxury is not only defined but the "amount of something" but its qaulity. A good design's space must also evoke emotions and feelings.
What can I say? Thanks for sharing this video. And thanks dear Charles-Edouard for your legacy. Surely the most beautiful house in the world. Thanks God for bring us a man like Corbusier.
No matter for the music in the video, it's right, contemporary and the sound is good.
Worst music for a fuckin masterpiece like that!

nice pictures and nice music.
shame the image transition wasn't slower to match the mood tho'.
Also I didn't like the colour saturation at the end - It ruined a beautiful building!

About the music: I actively dislike Linkin Park generally, including the full-band performance of this song.
But the piano version here is lovely, while perfectly expressing the joylessness of LeC's concrete box.
