@hiamajoe I enjoy FPS games somewhat and I love RPG games so naturally I thought this game would be great. Never played a Deus Ex game before but the reviews were through the roof and I've heard great things about it so I picked it up. The gameplay was boring, story was mediocre, the gun controls were horrible I just couldn't get into it, Was it wrong to think it would be kind of like ME?

@moppet12345 Yes, it was wrong to think it was like ME, totally different game but you never played them so you wouldn't have a way of knowing that. But the first deus ex was pretty much a shining jewel, the other two just weren't as good. 3 was better than 2 but 2 was terrible

@Whisper6911 so are you saying that video games have actually decreased in quality over the years? Some of the best games have come out in 2011. Artistically, Deus Ex HR was modeled after the renaisance. This can be seen in the color scheme and even in the sometimes ecentric clothing of the characters. It was a beatifully realized world with multiple choices at the players hands, both physical and social. The dialouge was deep and well written, and the story was engaging.

@Whisper6911 A short game doesnt mean lack of quality. I recently played the first Deus Ex and I loved it. It took me 32 hours to beat it.But 12 of those hours were probably me dealing with bold but flawed game design.Not only with the physical world but the rpg elements and the first person stealth and shooting mechanics.Even though I found alot to love in it,I felt that it was in no way superior to that of HR.At the end of the day this does not really matter. It is a subjective opinion.

Many claimed that the game was dumb down compared to the last game in terms of spread sheet stats. The people with this argument were blinded by these arbitray complaints, and they were not able to see the well constructed experience.

While as a rule I agree with your sentiment, I also think that it can turn out quite well, like in this case. Because, lets be honest, this naming of the commercial, has literally 300,000 more hits then the using the actual name.
