Also, i really believe that in gameplay terms between DOA4, Tekken 6, Soul Calibur 4 -VF5 is the best fighting game. But last time i checked, VF5 is also the less played game online. At least for the Europe XBOX 360 region.
Its not only about the story .... One story gametype will push the player to explore a bit more the different VF characters. And if u want to get deeper in to the gameplay of a fighting game, u need such gametypes. U need to play something to get to the good part - the moment u feel comftable with the gameplay. But sadly VF 5 lacks this content ( compared to its rivals of course ).

The story is the story of the gameplayer. We see someone play really well with Akira or Lei Fei or Pai and we want to know that person's story. Who is he? How come he plays so well? How? Who is he? Like Fuudo. Who's the next Fuudo? Who's better than Fuudo? How'd he /She become better?
The reason is that VF5 is all about training and practicing and learning and discplining to become the best you can be and win fights. It's not so much a game but a SPORT. You train to win. And that's all that matter.
It's not about the characters but about the people controlling those characters. "Who is that guy playing Akira? He's really good. How does he train? Who is he? What's his story?"

Characters have up to 4 Standard Outfits which are all customizable with about 100 items for each character.
Maybe there will be even more on console versions. Just can´t wait....
Brain Freezed Akira??? If Shoulder does not work twice why go for a third try? And rising low kick in Round 2 was veeeeeeryyyy stupid.
