  • this is a tempered version

  • Its a goddamn bird not a suicidal munchkin

  • @casino789 they covered they munchkin with a bird so people didnt freak out retard and watch the ORIGINAL version :P

  • @pawssavesanimals no they didn't asshole, its a damn bird you can clearly tell that it is. there was no actual reports of a munchkin killing himself on the set. so why don't you watch the original version again retard

  • Who hangs himself sideways?!?!?!

  • its a freaking crain flapping its wings you idiots

  • But seriously, how is this not a bird?!

  • So I find myself trolling for ostriches in the woods right? Then all of a sudden I come across some weirdos prancing around in costumes, who've obviously eaten some of those giant colorful mushrooms. Then, to top it off I get tricked by some suicidal dwarf into believing he's an ostrich just because he has a really long neck and long skinny legs and a tiny head.

  • Then I realized that I just got done eating one of those mushrooms!

  • @SinclairDelux ... no shit! Pretty sure that's common knowledge! LMAO. To be exact - I'm an AMAZING "cocksmoker!" Get it right :-D

  • For all you fucking idiots who think it's a hanging munchkin - it's WHOOPING CRAN! The same type of bird you see in front of the cabin, just a few seconds before the "hanging scene." Ugh. Google "crane's wingspan" and look at pictures.... - case closed. . . .

  • @SinclairDelux Fuck you're an idiot. They borrowed CRANES (Not Flamingos) from the local zoo for this movie.. it's a CRANE! Not a hanging midget. You can see another crane no less than a minute before this scene.. right behind them - bobbing its head and spreading its wings. Don't know HOW THE FUCK you idiots can miss that. Whether or not a munchkin hanged himself on set will probably never be known - but if you honestly think that THIS it - caught on video - you're a fucking moron.

  • I didnt know Munchinkens had wiiings :p

  • @SinclairDelux yeah, there was a fucking flamingo in the land of oz

  • @SinclairDelux uh... "genius" in fact they were birds in the LAND OF OZ, HOW IN THE WORLD COULD THAT BE MISTAKEN FOR A MUNCHKIN?! this rumor was started out so that naive would pay attention to a stupid detail like this one

  • i dont see how people mistake this as a munchkin hanging when u can clearly see a flamingo

  • Comment removed

  • @AtvingGuitarGuy ummmmmmm - because there are birds in Oz? They're called cranes, you dumb ass.

  • Comment removed

  • @CruelModder it's beacuse this is the newer version of the movie.

they've covered it with that shit in this one.

  • @CruelModder Close. It's a Crane, actually.

  • pssh don't be silly, you can clearly see that it's a bir... OMG! SHE'S MISSING A FINGER!!!

  • My question is how people mixed this up I mean if your dead hanging how your muscles would still work and stick out. So realistically if you think it's not possible and you see pink or red wings (the arms of "dead munchkin") moving or bending.

  • its a pink wing of a bird.

  • Idk what it is. Does not look like a munchkin and kind of looks like a bird, but I think it was really just a mistake made in the move.

  • thats fucked up. people told me about it and now i believe it

  • Ahh cold chills through me I cant decide what it is

  • you know i thought that it was real but when i saw it again it looked like that goose or bird that was in there earlier

  • i dk if this helps

    urbanlegends.about.com/b/2010/08/12/wizard-of-oz-munchkin-suicide.htm

  • yeh me and my mom saw it 2 its just a crane lifting its head up in the air.......

  • It actully was'nt a hanging,it was a bird;they put animals on the set to make the forest seem more realistic.

  • it is just a bird OK people god get a life

  • oh my god!! scary! i thought it was a bird. i did see something moving there.

  • yes, that is a bird in THIS scene. As for the hanging, i still don't know, cuz this is the WRONG scene.

I'm not against the idea of facts, I'm just amused at how, in recent years, the studio likewise gave a story, with a scene, and everyone scrutinizes and agrees.

I'm only saying this cuz I've seen specials where they admit a suicide, but the scene is where Dorothy sees Tinman, as the lights drop. Don't call ppl dumb, especially when you're eating up a story, too, from a different direction.

  • @JokersSerious - I've heard the "suicide" takes place in about 10 different scenes...seeing how people can't even agree on where it happened, that pretty much indicates it never did...and MGM never said that a suicide took place, that rumor started after Oz first came to home video in the early 80s, since it was the first time people could study the scene up close.

Also, what specials have you seen where people say it's true? And who exactly was making these claims?

  • Actually even if you watch the dvd version you can actually see it swinging. My friend Chante was watching it with her mom and they called the radio station telling them about it.

  • @Nicolehubbard88 That's actually the wing of the wild bird they bring to the set, you see the bird thorughout the scene and it's just next to the tree spreading it's wing. Close ups will prove that.

  • If it makes you feel better to keep making up stupid ass shit that makes NO FUCKING SENSE WHATSOEVER, go right ahead. If that were true, that bird would be over 20 feet tall! Did you just miss that?

  • @MotorCityKitty79 20 feet? Try 6 foot peacock that is just standing closer then you think, you moron. CLOSE UP!

  • @DaniMovieWarrior Peacocks arnt even 6 feet tall they only grow up to be 4 feetin the orginal black and white movie they didn't see the dead body until after they had published it and had gotten reports of people saying they see a dead person. if u look peacocks dont have any type of red in they wings/feathers so theres no way it could be apeacock they never realized what every1 was talkin bout until they published both movies.the only bird tht has redish feathers and wings are flamingos

  • @DLLHIF Then tell me this, if there were reports of people saying that there was a dead person how is it that no one from the set or director's got arrested and charged for covering up such a death? Because that's exactly what would have happened if someone did die on the scene of any movie and it was covered up, they wouldn't have been able to hide it with such a public break out with all these videos unless it was just myths. Look up Grey-Crowned Crane

  • @DaniMovieWarrior EASY this movie was shot in the great depression so everyone was dieing they never tried covering it up i just said they put a crane in the film when they reshot it with colored cameras duh.and back then no one put up these videos cause YOUTUBE NEVER EXISTED BACK THEN so theres no way anyone could have got the film unless they had 2000 technology.so yeah i know the history of it.

  • w-w-w-*youtube.com/watch?v=lJyNLUpJKho

    Jokes on u Mr. PINK!!!!

  • Wow guys. It's a bird and spreads it's wings. I know that the color of the wing looks like the munchkin costume, but it isn't a guy swinging. If you watch a little before that, there is a bird wandering around about 1 minute before that. IT IS A BIRD

  • Actually I recall seeing the supposed hanging munchkin the other background of the forest. When Dorthy, tin man, and Scarecrow were talking. A friend pointed it out to me. If anyone can upload that clip. Thats the clip that looks the most strange and possibly the clip to see. Its out of focus but looks very odd..

  • i just watched that scene :) it is in fact, a bird, you can see it spread it's wings

  • Why the hell would they have random birds in one spot you can't even see in the background? All you dipshits who say its a bird seriously need to be fucking smacked.

  • Comment removed

  • @MotorCityKitty79 If you look closely throughout the scene you can see the bird wandering around. Also, for that to be a hanging body, the person would have to be significantly wider than they were tall because the angle is almost parallel to the ground.

  • @IoHEARToAXEL I would love some of the crack you've got.

  • @MotorCityKitty79 Go watch the other videos about this, moron.

  • @IoHEARToAXEL SINCE WHEN DO BIRDS FLY STRAIGHT UP AND DOWN AND BACK AND FORTH< MORON ASS!

  • @MotorCityKitty79 Since when do hanging people hang parallel to the ground. Seriously, watch the whole scene, you see a bird wandering around the set, it goes behind that tree, then extends it's wings.

  • @MotorCityKitty79 And that straight up and down motion you're talking about is the bird bobbing it's head.

  • @MotorCityKitty79 Go ahead, pick a fight and keep going off about something you haven't researched. Don't you think that the family of the munchin would have known and told the true story IF it did happen? Not only that but if it did happen they REALLY would have looked back to the film once they found the body and would redo the scene, but no, it they didn't 'cause it didn't happen.

  • @DaniMovieWarrior Just because you call yourself movie warrior doesn't mean you know a damn thing. You apparently don't research shit. Stop being a stupid ass, and go into the sunshine. Put down your remote, or shove it up your ass, whatever comes first.

  • @MotorCityKitty79 Well you're just proving that you are just here to make a scene but obviously you didn't see the TV Land's Myths & Legends episode on the crack-pot story. Sorry to burst your imagination bubble, buddy, but I HAVE studied the story, it's a BIRD, the SAME BIRD THAT'S BEEN IN THE WHOLE SCENE!!!

  • @MotorCityKitty79 that's exactly what i said.

  • thats a bird. not a muchkin. get it right.

  • @katrandom5, I agree. Even if you couldn't make out the bird, how could anyone think that motion was someone hanging? It would look more like someone swinging around a tree with their feet flying parallel to the ground. Impossible to happen from a hanging.

Anyone the real little person that is hanging is to the left of the bird and they are not moving.

  • When I was little this was my favourite part. I guess there was just something terribly exciting about the thought of watching someone hang themself. I suppose thats a bit odd, isn't it?

  • Comment removed

  • @austincollins1 iv heard the same thing but i still think it a bird haha

  • The origional was in black n white They didn't have editing back then but when they remade the move with color they added in a bird (a crane). The man who hung himself was Dale Jefferson, he was a crew member (not a munchkin)

  • No.. It wasn't the family, there was no editing back then, they probally just threw in the bird, u can tell the bird is put OVER the background

  • Its not even in this part its in the part wherre she goes to meet the mayor

  • where s it?

  • its a bird

  • i dnt think it is a hanging because why dose it dissapear after a few seconds so i dnt think it is tbh

  • They said inthis book of bloopers that it's some guy in jeans

Also he did hang himself, not on this set, not even because of this movie

  • for goodness sake its a fucking vine lol

  • okay all u people calm down just believe whatever the hell u want!

  • Its a crane Imean come on how do you get a munchkin hanging, from that.

  • I didn't see it, what am I looking for?

  • @Rsne

why would his family want to leave it in the movie? THATS STUPID! WHY WOULD THEY WANT TO WATCH THEIR LOVED ONE KILL HIMSELF?!

  • Made up Internet myth crap!

  • @ziggycat999 actually i heard about this before the internet was even invented... the videos on the internet don't show the correct scene...

  • This is not real!! Its a fricking bird (an ostrich or peacock or something) I knew that when I was a little kid how can someone think its someone hanging themself?

  • haha watta goof lmao

  • how about who cares

  • This is actuallly real and no one could stop the person that hung himself the rope was already there and later the family decided to leave it in so everyone would remember him

  • Yeah...

  • @ Rsne bullcrap

  • Believe whatever you want dude im just telling you what I know about this scene they wouldnt have 1 bird just show up randomly in the middle of no where for no reason theyd have more than just 1 bird there

  • @ rsne um yeah if you payed attn to the movie you will see that the bird is there when the tin man is singing and dancing. And not to mention that conspiracy sites and wikipedia all disprove that someone hung himself on the set. If it was real it would be in the media come on ppl use your head I knew that was a bird when i was a kid YOU SEE THE WINGS look closely and find a vid where it zooms in and you see it LMFAO

  • thats obviously a tucan or bird of somesort

  • its obviously not real because this is a film set, people dont just break in tie a rope and hang themselves, someone would have noticed

  • wow, I'm never usually rude, but it's spelled "Douche" you dumb ass....get off the computer fricken 11 year old and come back when you're 16.

  • @RebaXLee I'm 11. I type perfectly. ._.

  • and also, it's spelled "You're" >>

  • HAHAHAH tampa got pwnt in the face and in the mouth and up the nose inside the ears and just drippling pwnage all over his torso OUHHHHUHUHUH hahahahhahah

  • @RebaXLee that's how he spelled it XD you fail.

  • its a bird flapping it's wings.....would be cool if it was a hanged munchkin though....well not the person being hanged
