its great to see this on youtube--my dad, Bob Hall was a chemist at the windecker plant in midland back in the late sixties. i have the inaugural flight on tape somewhere--i will post it when i find it.
We have the Windecker Eagle record holder in the Toronto area... if anyone is interested - clivebeddall@yahoo.ca - it is not pristine but, all the records are painted on the fuselage... It has wings and gear - that's about it.
I have alot of pictures of the first flight and some notes and a patent from the Windecker Eagle that I would love to donate to the museum. My Dad was one of the "Original 6" that started with Dr. Leo in Hondo, Texas.
My Dad was one of the "Original 6" that made the Windecker Eagle. They first started in Hondo, Texas and that's when my Dad moved with them to Midland, Texas. My Dad has passed away but was very proud of being a part of this project. Loved the video.
My dad (Jerry Firebaugh) was the mold maker for several of the Eagles. If I remember correctly, he pulled 3, 4, 5, and 6. We drove down to Lake Jackson a few years ago and donated some windecker material that my dad had to the museum there. The museum curator interviewed him and everything he could remember of the project. Dr Windecker died recently. My dad expressed an interest in having an Eagle reunion. I sent a message to that effect to Ted Windecker and got no response.
Very beautiful!!

I helped in the restoration of this exact aircraft in Northern Ontario Canada back in 1997.

You will maybee not beleive it but I found the Windecker Research's Eagle 1, model number TCA7SW, serial number 003, registration number N804WR .
This aircraft seems to be in good condition, permitting its proper reassemble and suit for flight.
This aircraft is actually disassembled but seems to be in good condition.
We are seeking for person interested in refurbishing of N804WR

If you would be interested to look at it, feel free to contact me at anytime.

Thanks for uploading this BBC mini production. I just showed this to my father and he was elated to know that it was on YouTube.
