@switchest26 way better, the campaing is sooo adictive, not to mention the 3-D effects on the campaign map. the battles are impressive too. But it also depends on your computer. cause medieval 2 can run smoothly while empire can be laggy for most computers.

empire looks good but you'll have to spend alot of time waiting for the game to load even if you put everything on low you will wait forever to get into battle i timed the loading time for lowdetail and it toke 16:36 plus the fact that on low detail everything looks like crap. high detail is wonderful you can see the wood explode off of ships and crewmen lieing dead on deck but it toke 36minutes to load everything

Imo, medieval and futuristic themes in RTS's have been overused, therefor I suggest you get Empire if you have a decent comp.

If you dont, you could settle with Medieval. But sooner or later, you are going to have to upgrade your comp if you'd want to play the newest games.

well first, you gotta download steam. it's a sort of an application that basically compiles all your games that you have bought online (through the steam application) together.

From the steam application, you go to the online store or whatever and you purchase empire total war for a price (you need a credit card). They would give you a cd key or whatever, then you would download the game, then BAM, you have the game.

Then whenever you want to play, you log on steam, and go to ur games n play!

I love this game, I play the Netherlands ( because I am Dutch). I have 1000 man in 1 building in France ( I am in big war with them). Everytime I press enter, France comes with 1400 man to my building, I press on pull back, but than he comes again. If I have lost that, they come to an other building (300man) with 600. If that is over, they will come with a ship and take over my dock.

What should I do?

Hello kebengel, yes Im sure it would work on less that that. You have ok RAM, and your graphics card is decent.

I do reccomend for playing a high end game like this, and other gaes like it, you get a new graphics card. Look into the geforce 9000 line. Its surprisingly well priced for how strong they are.

I am completely unhappy with it; several bugs that shouldve/couldve been fixed before release, The diplomacy sux, I played Maratha all the way thru and never once accepted a AI diplomacy . The sea battles completey blow. Unless you liked Sid Meyers pirates, then you ll be happy sailing in a lil box with borders. They stole/bought the Sid Meyers engine and didnt even bother to fix the AI. The ships can't hold formation, constantly fire on friendlies and you always end up in a corner.

this game is AMAZING!!! granted there are bugs here and there, but the main reason alot of peoples games are freezing and exiting is that they cant run it, the specs are high on regular graphics, but this game is awesome, no more diplomats and merchants and the enemy ai is amazing, also the battles are so fun. naval battles get a little boring tho, just because u cant really change up ur strategy once get a good 1. also its to bad that they didnt include asia and africa to the map
