  • It is so hard to deal with an animal who is aggressive from sheer fear, but so rewarding to win their trust. Here in Argentina where I have a small refuge, there is so much bad treatment and neglect it's heartbreaking

  • I watched your program(s) for the first time this past weekend and this was one. I am so glad that Animal (I can't remember his new name) has made so much progress. It was so sad that there was a battle to get him in the transport kennel.

  • i still dont understand how some humans can hurt these beautiful animals

  • Just call the dog whisperer.

  • Great episode.

  • I love Dogtown! Breeders suck!

  • yo puppy mill people.... get yourselves run over by a truck

  • the probleme is these girl dont help the problem they help to get it worst there intention are very good but people will think like: maybe somelse could do it ... in my opignion we need to educate more people about animal respect ( and for life) and have more legislation if someone want to breed he need to have some qualification just like they do with doctor or other professional ... you have to follow class and pay your card every years so we know your clean after that you do what they do

  • What breed is "Animal"? Yorkie?

  • @ladysky61 tblack terrier

  • These people must have so much patience, God bless them !!

  • id like 5 minutes with the owner of this puppy mill..

  • I would love to come and help......you people are GODS gifts to the world of animals...love you guys and girls.xo

  • Great Show, bless them JESUS for all they do for poor misstreated animals.

  • I love how people get so serious over dogs lol

  • @personalman3 Get so serious over dogs? You say it like they are not even worth our attention? If humans harm dogs, shouldn't we humans also be responsible for helping them? If some of our race are ignorant assh0les that deserve to be shot, shouldnt we balance that out? Millions of people enjoy the company of dogs, its only natural we return it. Just looking through youtube you'll see how dogs have helped us. Even helped a child out of Autism.

  • @243pie You can't compare humans to dogs. Humans are the only animal on earth that knows of its own existence. Unlike animals no matter how much you train a dog it will never be able to think like us. And if you can't know of your own existence what is the point of living. Never ever compare dogs to humans.

  • @personalman3 Im not comparing humans to dogs I never did. The two are vastly different in terms of instinct and such. Im just responding to a comment which displayed a clear lack of care for dogs. If we harm the dogs and make life miserable for them isn't it only fair that we help them too? I have no idea what your comment is referring to. Maybe you should read my previous comment more closely, before you try and sound smart.

  • It is now December 29, 2010...i was wonder how "animal" is doing? How has his behavior changed from when you first got him to now? I would be interesting to see how his personality has changed in a positive way!!!

  • wow thats cold... those fuckers chopped his balls off

  • burn down the Puppy Mills!

but remove all the dogs first pleas.

    :((

  • "He'll figure out who he is and who he wants to be".ha ha ha ha .only a pink fluffy wooly minded woman would say that.I wonder how many dogs are killed in "rescue centres" because the rescuers don't know much about the animals they are supposed to be helping.worldwide my guess would be millions.

  • I love how chickens, cows, pigs and many other animals are being factory farmed and live in even worse conditions than puppy mill dogs and nobody cares. All we stupid Americans care about is our dogs and cats. 4-6 million dogs and cats are euthanized in shelters every year, and everyone won't shut up about how awful that is, when 9-40 billion animals are killed for meat every year in this country. Seriously?

  • u can tell this lady really has a passion for animals. we need more people like that in this world.

  • To the guys of Bestfriends...You are good people !!

  • People can be so ignorant. I can't stand it. I've seen the puppy in the window and they all look adorable. But when I imagine that they're probably from a puppy mill, it makes me sick. I wish the law required all shops to post a sign that says "All puppies may come from puppy mills" and then a description of what a puppy mill is.

  • If I hear "ho ho ho, it's magic" one more time...

why is it that I only see shelters that look really nice on television? I mean every shelter I've been to always looks poorly funded?

Maybe it's because I live so close to PeTA's HQ building?

  • Neuturing DOES NOT REDUCE AGGRESSION!!!!!!!>Big load of Bollocks (npi) perpetuated by Tart Vets that enjoy imasculating animals.

  • Their dogs not human beings. They don't mind being neutered and spayed. It helps with marking and mating behaviors and reduces cancer. I wish I had knew this sooner as my spaniel died of cancer )-:

  • @summerbrezz74 It's they're,not their.I said, neutering does not stop aggression.Yes it stops unwanted puppies and can have good side affects. It does also cause social problems among dogs.Responsible dog ownership is the answer.

  • @summerbrezz74 Doesn't help with marking. I have two unneutered male Pugs. On walks they walk to heel and dont even pee on lampposts. I take them to a tree i want them to pee on. They dont mark in the house. Theyre well behaved and compete in conformation and obedience so meh. Chopping off a dogs nuts does not make an obedient dog.

  • @Wtflolyay

Neutering is part of being a responsible pet owner. Please grow up and understand that. It only takes a second to get another animal pregnant. I'm in animal rescue and see too many "responsible" owners say they watch over their dog that they do not breed and stuff. But they are animals, they will do what nature tells them, even if it is wrong (pet overpopulation

  • @tuguybear ...by your use of ALL CAPS I'd say you needed to be neutered too to reduce your aggression. XD

  • This is like soo bad.. if u think about it.. as an example its like saying kids in a orphanage having this being locked in a cage, torturing them or so.... thrasing and trying to run away from the people that tried to hurt you... that puppy farm if i was in one as a dog, i wouldnt stand it... Im glad animal managed to change and started liking people again

  • whatthehell. the black terrier is only so aggressive now cos its afraid of humans ): and thats really caused by the breeder. seriously, if this is how afraid he is, imagine what the breeder might have done to him in the past. omg i cannot imagine..

  • I have a puppy mill dog...

They got closed down like 6 months after I bought my puppy..

But point is..He is a wonderful dog. Completely trained, and my 100% loyal companion.

  • puppy mills can fuckin suck my dick and choke fucking pricks

  • omg im starting my own puppy mill well not mill just a pair of shiba inus and some of it's puppies htan after 1 batch i'll get them other spread than ill have a team of shibas !

  • its an uphill battle because if you buy a dog from a petstore or online it just brings the profit to support the bastards

  • I would so save a dog and bring it to my house. but my mom doesnt like animals io the house

  • Sometimes I think about starting my own sort of puppy mill...I would give them big kennels to run in, good food, lots of love, discipline them APPROPRIATELY because if you hurt an animal then you should be shot, keep them clean, keep them happy, and love them love them love them. And donate to Dogtown.

  • The thing about mass producing dogs (which is what puppy mills are for) is that it takes too much money/time to give these animals good lives. If you are to start anything either start an animal rescue, or so a small scale breeding of dogs.

  • @S0XF0X

Oh, I know. It's a little dream I have of mine...however unreachable it is. :/ It doesn't stop me from wishing, though. If I ever hit it big, and took in lots of money at a steady rate, you can bet I'd open my own place for animals. Or just make another Dogtown... :]

  • @oChaoticDarlingo then that won't be call a puppy mill... but a breeding facility

  • may dogtown flourish

    i wanna be a supporter

    answering to doggys needs

i hope its getting donations left, right & centre!

    i love you dogtown

  • SCREW PUPPY MILLS

    they should be banned forever.

    BANNED

  • @piDheidi I HATE puppy mills! I agree with u that they should be banned!

  • my dogs and their brother are from pupy mills

  • beautiful girl!!!

  • i hate pupy farms they r so mean!:(

  • i hope the owner of that puppy farm gets hit by a train

  • that's being kind....

  • you mean gets hit by a plane, gets run over by a bull, and if he stll lives,he gets shot.

  • @Cybix rofl ur right

  • @Cybix No, that's too quick of a death. How about shot in both knee caps and then forced to swim through lemon juice.

  • @0BustyStClaire0 skinned with butter knives and dumped in a tub of salt.

  • @mrmctommy Hmmm,,,pretty good,,,

  • im crying

  • I'm learning to be a dog groomer currently, so seeing this only makes me more passionate for what I'm learning.I think what dog town is doing is a great thing. If there's anything they need I'd be more than happy to help. I've helped with cases much worse than Animal. If anyone heard of Camp Husky, when the dogs were saved in Butte montana, I helped with that. longest nights of my life.

  • i love the show dogtown i'm involved with a no kill shelter unfortnantly not as much as i used to but our 6 residents are lifers they help make people happy. we unfortnatly have to work of donations mainly food. Iwe help these animals as best we can i hope you go far with the grooming

  • uhhh, what kind of leash did that have on that dog? looked like some damn wire!

  • I believe it is some type of lightweight but strong twine attached to the top of the harness since the dog is so small and scared that anything bigger would be too much or spook him.

  • It's probably plastic coated wire cable. Perfect for a dog that keeps trying to bite through his leash.

  • how is best friends funded?

  • Today I got bit by an annoying dog. I met the owner and saw why Fluffy was such a prick.

  • dogs aint bad owners are

  • Take care of your pet's .They require some attention just like you do !!!!!

  • wow im ashamed to be a human! i want to be a dog and show us humans what dogs are made of!

  • dont be ashamed, you haven't done anything wrong. And btw, if youre a dog and you want to show what youre made of to humans, im sorry but they would show you what a bullet is made of, dogs dont stand a chance and thats why we need to help them

  • "who he is, and who he wants to be" you must be reminded it's a DOG.

  • Comment removed

  • So in other words, you pray for the good of dogs, and hope that people die.

    Hipocrite.

  • Well you have to admit, most people are pretty shitty. Earth and its animals would be in better shape without us.

  • Hear Hear.

At least there is someone else out there that thinks this.

  • I think many do.

  • wow I started to cry.

  • This was the most beautiful video I've ever seen~

  • one of the best vid ever

  • Im glad for animal to be able to start a new life. You guys say alot in one comment box.

  • This was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen.

  • lawl

my friend's dog sounds like that

(i think they spoil him too much XD)

  • and as long as your scared you should never handle a big dog at any time thats why they are sucessful they put their fear aside to do the right thing

  • I love these people. I was hooked on the Bad Newz Kennel pitbulls that they rehabilitated. There needs to be a whole lot of other people like them in this world.

  • Sherry, at what point do you introduce Animal to pack (social) life? Would you do it in brief sessions or just take him in to a group and hope for the best?

  • ANY GUYS UP?

lovin this video!! leave me a comment Oj

  • they rehabilitated half of the dogs that they found at bad newz kennels, Michael Vicks dogs. The Dogtown people saved them from being euthanized, rehabilitated them getting rid of the viscious behaviors and have been putting them into homes. You should try and find that ep it was good =)

  • I don't think its a shame...The bigger the dog the bigger the bite..and the more danger for everyone..Like I have a puppy mill dog and man..if she was a big dog she would have to be put down..because she would have hurt us and another animal..Kille dthem by now. However she isn't..She is 6 pound has bad teeth and was a puppy mill rescue. Now I have another rescue..and he has killed on of my cats..If he can' find a suitable home, he will have to be put down.

  • Lots of people like Ceasar Milan do help dangerous dogs..but its a dangerous undertaking... and if you feel so strongly about it..Feel free to put yourself and other animals and children in danger. Best Friends DID and do take many fighter pit bulls..Like Michael Vicks and DID rehabilitate them..So what the heck are you so upset about.. Be upset at "Bully" breeders who let anyone have them..And therefore they can become badly behaved..There is not enough people to train aggressive dogs.

  • Any little dog is much easier to train and is not as much of a danger..Lots of people do puppy mill rescue AS do I. I would NEVER take a bigger dog that was violent..I would probably lose my hand..But with a small dog..its not a big risk. I have never been hurt by a smaller dog..Seriously..how are you going to even get a big dog out to go potty without getting hurt..and what if they get out? Small dogs can't kill humans..Big dogs can! I find your anger strange...

  • So we should kill big dogs that have violent tendencies but try and fix the smaller breeds because they're "easier?" And about your rescue that you feel may have to be euthanized; take it to your local reputable no-kill shelter and let people better trained to handle dog as you can't. If trained fighting dogs can be rehabilitated, any dog can. It just takes the right knowledge, compassion, time and family. You can't just give up when it becomes to hard. We started the mess, we should fix it.

  • <3ily

  • why cant most people be like this??..

  • I have had alot of untamed animals, cats, dogs everything. Anybody can do it, you just need to be super gentle and show them you can be trusted.

  • i agree with casey. i have two mutts i found in the street. the first one was in a trash bag outside a bar, she was 4 months old. the other one was outside my house and in heat, being followed by a pack of dogs. she was about a year old when i found her and showed signs of abuse.

it's not that hard, but you do need a lot of discipline. it's been sort of difficult for them to get along since they're females, but not too much. dogs are actually smarter than people sometimes.

  • How old? Best thing to do in any case is to ignore them and let them come to you. Food is a good way to build trust with your dog too but only give it to him when he behaves the way you want him to.

  • that lady is AH-MAZING!!!

  • she's a special person to help out those types of dogs so much.

  • shouldve called the dog whisper!

  • I cried to see those poor dogs. I really hope there will be lots of people who wants to save dogs like those women.

3.41 - 3.47 you all can see those sad, lonely eyes of him. Poor baby...

  • fuking dog breaders.. we should put them in a 1 metre square cube cage for the rest of their life..

  • not all dog breeders are like this dude.

  • Any updates on Animal? I really wanna see how hes been. You always see dog shows about big rotties or pitbulls, but rarely small cute dogs...so I'm very interested in Animal and his progress...please update!

  • I love the big rotties and pits! Lol. Actually, where is Dog Town located at? Does anyone know? If I'm near the area maybe I could volunteer or something.

  • sherry, the one who took care of the dog is beautiful and wonderful. i wish to be like her;help animals and all. i wish to be a veterinary. does anybody here can help me? (hehehe!!! just kidding)

  • humans are sickening. puppy mills, kitten mills, animal abuse, dog fighting, starvation, malnutriton. and those are just the things i can think of. sickening just sickening. get ur pets fixed, adopt, and care for ur pets. they rely on u to survive. ive dealt with stray dogs that band up and make packs, that is dangerous. they killed 3 pets and injured a few cattle b4 animal control caught them all. every single one was put down. all bcuz some idiot was irresponsible. have compassion.

  • never buy dogs from pet stores. my friend got a puppy from a pet store only to find that it has this genetic disease

  • I have also found that shelter dogs (aside from being much MUCH cheaper) are generally more friendly and more adaptable. I've only had one shelter dog but my friends and people I know adopted from the Chicago Humane Society and they're all very good pets. But yeah, I've heard a lot of stories about pet store dogs, it's a shame people don't know what they're getting into most of the time. Sorry for the long comment!

  • puppy mills should be illigal, its purely for the money, and the dogs often have health and behavior problems, from bad breeding, filthy conditions, and lack of handling +

  • No one should ever buy a dog from a puppy mill thats the only way to stop them. If theres no profit then they will shut them down

  • Animal looks like a Miniature Schnauzer...poor baby!

  • Um, please don't reserve the title of 'dog eaters' specifically to all Koreans, thanks.

  • I'm not Korean or whatever but you need to grow up.

  • Have you ever heard of a kitten mill? same horrible thing as puppy mills, only with kittens. Dont support pet shop's shady buiness of buying from mills! help those animals who really need it! Adopt at a shelter!

  • it was amazing to see how good the little dog responded to the treatment given to him by these good people..at the end of the video she could give him a little hug...wow...thumbs up for these people and this little dog. bless his heart

  • As cruel as the circumstances were, that's pretty cool that Animal is so badass. He's like a little guy in a prison that just scares the crap out of EVERYBODY, inmates and guards alike.

  • yeah except the badass usually dies lonely and scared. These animals have a chance at a loving life.

  • sorry no such thing

  • Some people have no hearts to do this to poor animals. It makes me so sad that people seem like they don't care. I'm glad that they're people like the experts to come in and help them. They are seriously doing a good thing. I hope puppy mills end someday

  • I bought my Jack Russell from a puppy mill not knowing it was a puppy mill until we found out about an investigation.

Our Fiona was sold to us when she was 3 months old... she looked like she was one month... that is what we thought we were getting until the vet told us otherwise. She is now an excellent dog... but she has terrible aggression with animals. With training and long walks we are able to calm her enough to tolerate our older Jack Russell.

  • o god little demon dogga!

    lol

    aaww poor doggie though

  • There are billboards in rural areas that advertise "Grow Puppies for Profit." Puppies are listed by our government as an "agricultural crop." We must work for legislation to stop the puppy mills.

  • indeed. there is a bill right now that could possibly be passed that will make puppy mills illegal. check in with hsus dot org (humane society) -- they have all the updated info.

and of course, donate to organizations like best friends!

  • Get over it person... What a jerk...

  • Its called puppy mills, where negligent and cruel people breed puppies under atrocious, dangerous conditions.

Did you know that 1 in every 4 dogs at a shelter are pure bred? So ADOPT, don't buy!

  • 3 women to catch a 10/15 lbs dog. Imagine a German Sheppard, Doberman, Rottweiler or Pitbull...

  • ACTUALLY I worked with a 100 pound Pitbull who acted the same way.. No One gave him hope.. I was able to bring him around through daily exercise! We walked for miles... Hes now the biggest baby you have ever met!

  • shes s great person doing a great thing to help those dogs but dam she neutered him lol

  • i agree, forget the blind idiots that can't seem to understand that not every animal has to be trained.

  • this animal was raised in a puppy mill. it is not normal. it doesn't know how to do normal dog things. they're not trainging it to be pets, they're giving it a chance to complete it's own destiny. that's the definition of "rescue"

  • This is ad but inspiring.I think the woman is doing an awesome job. as for Ceasar, yeah he makes good television, but Dogtown is saving lives.

  • This woman "trainer" needs Cesar Millan to train her. And Cesar should rehabilitate "Animal." Cesar would have that dog under control a lot better than this woman supposedly has.

  • You gotta admit, she's doing her best.

I mean like, it's hard to tame a dog thats never been handled, and kept in crates all it's life.

  • poor doggies D;

  • Please keep us all posted on how Animal makes out. Thanks~ (involved with minpin rescue)

  • keep up the good work

  • ok i haven't been watching this in a while.chrisftw, if your reading this, i am not stupid.i really meant what i said when i saw the dogs.i was just soo mad.ok mad.that pissed me off so much i just wanted to kill.i am sorry if i like did anything wrong

  • i just have to give a dog an angry look, and he starts behaving.....its my power- i control dogs.....i have no idea what to do with this power...my army cant open doors.

  • I had land two doors down from a cat/dog hoader, in San Jacinto County Texas. I tried every avenue to get help for the old woman, she poisoned me and my land with urine and feces. The County or State wouldnt do a thing to help and I had to sell the land as I was having multiple infectious diseases and trying to recover from a complete broken neck and 4 spine surgeries. There are 150 comunicable dieases humans can catch from these kenel crazed cats and dogs.

  • God Bless her and ALL her hard work!

  • awee poor baby.

  • Good luck, Animal! Keep trying!

  • they are showing fear, thats why the dog is aggresive, it thinks its the "top dog"

  • I meant to say he's not a violent animal, he's scared. Poor baby.

  • He is not a "Violent Animal"

  • DRAMA QUEEN!

  • seems animals are like humans too because they have emotions like us. so they need equal treatment like us. gear job and thanks for you

  • theres enough ppl helping the 'under privilaged' and not enough helping the abused and neglected animals

  • maybe they should send them to

north korea...they'll take care of them well there.

  • The children or the animals? And you're insulting North Koreans. You seem much more likely to be the kind of cruel person who kills out of ignorance or anger. Wait...are you related to JAmjam123us? Too bad someone doesn't neuter you two, you should not be allowed to breed.

  • why is that insulting to N Koreans?..they love dogs, just like some ppl love cattle or pigs. The vast majority of dogs are essential wasteful, a drain of resourses and bad for the environment.

  • that's such a selfless job.

  • your more likely to waste your time helping a human than an animal

  • its really a great job keep it up

  • FUCK YOU REALY...

  • because its illegal to dog fight you jerk

    for shame

  • why dont you use yourseslf?

  • dogtown should get a big pat on the back for the effort that they go to, these dogs need help and i'm glad they r getting it...and puppy mills should all be burnt down with the people that run them still inside locked in a cage!

  • i hate people who buy a puppy from pjs or somewhere else !!!!!!!!!!!!!!:@

  • those are not humans, their crab people
