@1000Patriot I have to say, your comment seems to ignore the obvious issue. It is the wild population of Slow Loris at needs protecting now. As part of a wider ecosystem, their elimination from the wild changes that system forever. This video will only drive up a demand for these creatures, and that demand is partially satisfied by trapping wild Loris. There is no evidence that captive Loris can be reintroduced into the wild. The demand for these creatures is damaging the population now.
this loris isnt actually enjoying it, its actually putting its arms up like that because its one of their reactions - its nervous and blatantly not enjoying it- its trying to grab onto something, like in the wild they would grab onto a branch. SMD if you dont believe me i had a lady who has a phd and has studied these animals come talk to me today about this so screw you if you're too stupid to understand.
I loved this video and Im not going out to buy one at all . Im sure the doc your speaking about gives more information about what is going on but its like the saying , Guns don't kill people , bad people with guns kill people . Don't be so quick to blame somebody for sharing that gives a person a smile , GO BLAME THE ANIMAL TRADERS ... Not all of us are stupid some of us enjoy this and maybe its these videos that makes us stand up for these animals ..
you know slow lorris are endangered animals that belong in their own habitat, just because something is cute dosnt give us humans the right to take them and stick them in a cage for our own amusement, people ticking the like button just fuels the world wide trade in endangerd animals,
I, like others, have just watched the BBC programme, which thankfully has brought the loris's plight to our attention. I expect many people who have these poor creatures are ignorant of how they may have arrived in their hands, through those very cruel poachers and traders. I'm not making excuses for them but hopefully they will now have their eyes opened. I watch many nature programmes and this is the first for a long time to make me cry. "Cute" videos such as this just perpetuate the trade.
Please remove this video. This animal is endangered in the wild and this video could help fuel a trade in this species which could cause the species to go extinct.
@vincewilkinson Ya, because the rest of the Slow Loris population will be traded and domesticated before they're put in sanctuaries. Totally. For sure.
Just watched a documentary on Slow Loris. Heartbreaking in places. Loris's are often sold illegally in local Thai, and Indonesian markets just because of that ''Ah bless,so cute..i want one of them'' factors. They are critically endangered as it is,with habitat loss, ill treatment and such.. And not forgetting that they are the only venomous primates in the world.Their front teeth are ripped out by market sellers so that they can become harmless adorable pets.
You are the scum of the planet taking these poor animals from their natural habitat. People like you fuel the hunt for these poor animals, but you don't care because you are small minded fuckwits ! I weep for the future of this planet. IDIOT !!
Please do not think this is ok, I watched a documentary this evening and the pet trade, how they clip their teeth out. These creatures are becoming scarce an we need to save them. Please do a search on the Loris Pet Trade, Indonesia.
I really love this animal, but i heard that this animal is poisonous and rubs its urine all over itself. how do you have this as a pet.. I think its interesting
Slow lorises are primates, and their saliva is poisonous but not so much to humans. Tarsiers are the primates that urinate on themselves to get a better grip for leaping.
t is pitiful to see a rare wild animal being treated like a domestic pet simply for some ones idle amusement. The slow loris is a highly endangered, nocturnal primate living in the treetops of the tropical rainforest. To see one living in such an alien environment with no regard for its natural needs, purely for human entertainment, is downright cruel. If you care about wildlife and conservation, please register your objection to this film.
although this may look cute, you are contributing to wiping this species off the planet.... hope your happy.
