Yeah I loved it when Sonic was announced since that would mean I would get to have both him and Yoshi (they are My two favorite characters not just in games but in general) in the same game (apart from the Mario & Sonic Olympic titles but don't bash that sports game because it's one of the things that helped Sonic get into this game in the first place) but well... I kind of feel they didn't get a whole lot of time to work on him, I mean not that I don't like playing as Sonic *2bcont.*

I still get goosebumps while watching this. Back in the 90s you would NEVER imagine Mario, Solid Snake and Sonic all in one game. Then it happens. It literally happens. This video, along with Snake's "out of the box" announcement, were just...EPIC.

I think you're probably mixing up Brawl and Melee. Sonic is not in melee for the Gamecube, he IS in Brawl for the Wii.

It's impossible to miss ihm, too, considering he shows up in the story mode.

But I also enjoyed Donkey Kong, Mario, Zelda and others.

While nowadays I only play Nintendo games since Sega closed, their games still linger in my memory and heart. So there's no way I would hate Sonic even if they were the competition of Nintendo a few years ago. Both companies are way too cool to only restrict to one.

I love both Mario and Sonic. Yeah, Sonic hasn't been coming out with the best games lately, but they all were still enjoyable to me. And yes, some of Mario's games are a bit overrated. Mario Galaxy, for instance. LOVED the game really. But it wasn't perfect. We could've done without the "Bee Mario" and the meh storyline.

Main point? Both characters are cool. Both still have a shitload of fans. So stop the pointless fights over who's better. Jeez.

I too love Sonic and want them to make a good game. I am just tired of all the shit. It is the same with FPS games. I loved Half life 2, No one lives forever 2, Golden gun, Perfect Dark and the old Turok games. However now all the games are generic, boring, short, repetetive and stale and there are literally hundreds to choose from and they are all the same game. If people do not criticise (or flame in this case) the subject then nothign will ever change. I just want good games.

Mario is great and, at the moment at least (and, IMO, has always been) much better but Mario Galaxy is way too higly rated. It was not open ended at all like the other 3D mario games. It was fun and very innovative but it had its flaws.

Now Zelda is amazing. That is by far my favorite franchise and OOT is by far my favorite gaem of all time. Mario may be overrated but Zeld acertainly is not (IMO)

Once games get to the top of their game it is only a matter of preferance. Fast platformer or jump heavy platformer? Action adventure or FPS adventure? RPG or TRPG? It is only a matter of choice at the top. However at the bottom level it is not. Sonic Unleashed vs Metroid prime is not a matter of opinion anymore. MP is better. The all around quality and effort is way better. However if the comparsion was Sonic the hedehog vs MP then that would be different.

Actually, Snake was going to be Melee which was set to date in 2001 but the creators said they were too far into production. If the MGS people asked earlier Snake would be the first 3rd party to not be featured in a Nintendo console. Because his remake came out 3 years after Melee

To jefluv: True. T Ratings are a given to fighting games nowadays, but the first Smash Bros. was rated E. It might be because of how cartoony it was compared to its successors.

To Firestorm: Brawl is rated T not only for the fighting, but also for "Crude Humor", which means "bathroom humor". Wario's Wario Waft move is to blame for that... -_- Nintendo got lucky with not getting a "Suggestive Themes" on the T label because of ZSS! XD lol
