Red dirt and hay can be used to create bale homes. These people haste to take a trip to the local library on eco-building. In the documentary they had access to cement grinders well all you need is red dirt which is most likely free and purchase of bales of hay from a local farmer. South Africa has a good supply of farmers that own a reasonable of amount of land with gracing cattle which don't eat all of the hay provided to them. People could exchange services for working at farm for payment
