Thanks, but the issue does not lie with a lack of power to my voice. The issue lies with my audio equipment and the fact that my guitar skills are lacking.
I'm too busy concentrating on not screwing up my guitar and my audio equipment just isn't capable of handling my voice, so I end up singing quieter to minimize distortion.
I've been experimenting with that. On my next trip out of town I plan on buying a microphone. This distortion problem and lack of balance between the guitar and the vocals has been bothering me. I've been stuck in town with no vehicle, and the car should be back in the next couple of weeks.
I also bought a new video camera, and then realized that I have no DV port in my laptop. So that's another project I get the joy of handling... It will be worth it once I figure out how to connect it all.
You stole my song! Bitch! :P You sound sick in this recording.

I'm pretty sure I was. And Jolene requested it.

Power isn't the issue because your voice has a nice, natural warmth to it.
Your phrasing on the verses really worked well, but not on the chorus. Maybe you weren't feeling it? I don't know.
You should just use a backing track if you can find one because the guitar work just isn't there.
How about you try "Easy From Now On" by Emmylou Harris? That may give you more to wrap your vocals around.
