@Jahosaphax No.....there are no similarities between the Greek and the Turkish languages. However, if you hear common everyday Greeks speaking amongst themselves they will use some Turkish words in their conversations...then again they will use Italian,French, English and God knows what else, ONLY to facilitate the conversation. Greek word are descriptive and usually long, so it is easier to use "foreign" words...e.g. Sidirodromos (Steel Road) = Train. Treno in Italian so Treno Con/-
