In my country, majority rule include minority representatives in a Multiparty Cabinet system of government under Constitutional law. 60% of the population are Christians. In this context, the Fiji market had the opportunity to live by Gods law. But, the Military coup of December 5th 2006 was implemented. Today, 2 years later, there is still no evidence, but positions of power have been filled by supporters. Fiji has a good Constitution but manipulation is rife.
That's a good point. If you think about it, the bottom 51% (or whatever) of any population make up a majority, who can vote to make the top 49% "spread the wealth around."
But America is not a democracy, its a democratic-republic which safeguards the minorities from abuse by the checks and balances of different offices of our government.

Here is a quote to ponder: "Democracy is the road to socialism." Those words came from Karl Marx.
If we think about it, Canada, the UK, and Australia operate under majority rule, and not under the system set forth by the US Constitution.
