Il Milan proprio non lo sopporto ma non ho nessun problema a riconoscere, e sfido chiunque a dimostrare il contrario, che Marco Van Basten sia stato il miglior centravanti degli ultimi trent'anni, uno dei migliori della storia del calcio. Negli ultimi tempi solo Ronaldo (ultimo anno Barça e primo Inter) è stato al suo livello ma Marco era più completo.

Absolute class. Joy to watch. Great striker, great finisher and also cool composure in front of the goal. My favorite striker growing up with Fernando Gomes from Portugal. Complete player. Had everything on him. His style of play is also evident in some of today's top players. I see some of Van Basten in top players like Cristiano Ronaldo. Rinus Michels was the head coach of the dutch national team in those days. He was known as a iron man and maintained strong discipline on the players. So great to see him hiding his tears lot of spirit in that goal !

Van Basten was an Artist/genius at scoring; one of my favorites ever. When Ac Milan had the dutch trio Van Basten, Frank Rijkaard and Ruud Gullit damn that was special to see.
At 1:38 probably the only goal that I've seen that was scored 100% with the brain. van Basten doesn't look where the goalkeeper is and he knows that the defender is much closer to the ball than he is... one touch, marvellous.
Best first striker ever! He's matchless: complete, lethal and elegant as a swan. Maradona was not a first striker, neither Messi is (besides Messi still has a looong way to go before you can compare him to Maradona). Zidane was an offensive midfielder.
Ronaldo (the Brazilian, of course,) might have been quicker but not necessarily more nimble and agile. Moreover, Marco was much more complete than the Brazilian whose headers were never at the level of his shots.

yeah but Ronaldo's dribbling and ball control were better than Van Basten's, pretty much only Maradona has a say in dribbling and Zidane in ball control. And Ronaldo's finishing is perfect, nowadays, he takes 3 shots, 2 are goals, one hits the post.
I totally agree. This guy had such an elegance...I saw him in the 80's on Dutch Television when he played for Ajax. Absolutely marvellous player, he had everything. It's such a pity that he had to end his career that early due to a serious ankle injury.

Das dus gewoon gelul! Bergkamp was een hangende spits, vooral bij Arsenal, dus het was niet zijn taak om de goals te maken, maar om ze voor te bereiden. Dat deed hij dus ook elke wedstijd. Ik denk dat Bergkamp een van de hoogste assists-gemiddelden had in Europa toen hij nog speelde. Als jeg mij niet gelooft, geloof Thierry Henry dan maar:
"Dennis is the best player I have ever played with as a partner. It is a dream for a striker to have him in the team with you."

1) Jongen, je kan Bergkamp toch niet met Maradona verglijken? Dan kun je net zo goed zeggen, dat Pelé niet zo goed kon verdedigen als Beckenbauer. Maradona, Cubillas, Zico en Rivaldo speelden niet dezelfde positie als Bergkamp, dus dat argument is nutteloos.

Summa summarum: Bergkamp is absoluut één var den beste voetballers ooit. Geen wonder dat hij tot nu toe de enige Nederlander in de Premier League Hall Of Fame is. Volgens mij, en vele andere, is Bergkamp in ieder geval in de top 5 van beste Nederlandse voetbal spelers ooit, sammen met Cruijff, Van Basten, Wilkes en Lenstra.

Mijn kennis van de geschiedenis van voetbal is prima, daar hoef ik mij niet verder in te verdiepen. Cubillas was een middenvelder, Maradona een aanvaller púr sang, Zico een middenvelder en Rivaldo een buitenspeler. Voor de laatste keer: BERGKAMP WAS EEN SCHADUWSPITS. Het was dus zijn rol om de aanvallers met ballen te voeden. Dat werd Cruijff later in z'n carriere ook. En over die Hall Of Fame: wat dan med Van Nistelrooy? Mühren? Davids? Van der Sar?
Maradona een aanvaller pur sang.... dat meen je niet! dat is voor het eerst dat ik dat heb gehoort!!
Cubillas een middenvelder? meer dan 500 goals getuigen van het tegendeel!
Zico meer dan 800 goals getuigen van het tegendeel!

Bergkamp werd opgenomen toen hij nog speelde, en Van der Sar komt er ook wel. V. Nistelrooy en Mühren niet tot de absolute wereldtop? Ken jij je geschiedenis maar eens beter... Gullit was (toen hij bij Chelsea speelde) absoluut een van de betere spelers in de Premier League, en dat weet ik, omdat ik toen in Engeland woonde.

nee.. maar absolute wereldtop vind ik spelers die de allerbeste van hun tijd zijn geweest. Spelers uit andere tijdperken met elkaar vergelijken is toch zinloos.
Ik wist niet dat Gullit toen net hersteld was van een knieblessure, mijn fout. En de geschiedenis weet ik wel, maar bijna elke eindronde waaraan Nederland meedoet, heeft zo zijn geschiedenis. Dat doet niks af aan mijn punt hoor.. Ik vond Gullit heel goed, maar van Basten en Rijkaard waren wel beter.
Ferdinand is zeker 1 van de beste 20 verdedigers aller tijden, en absoluut 1 van de 3 beste verdedigers van het afgelopen deccenia.
75% van V. Basten's goals waren assits van Gullit, Gullit was verdedigend bijna net zo goed als Rijkaard, Rijkaard had enkel een betere overzicht, op alle andere fronten was Gullit beter (bijv: sneller, sterker, beter in de lucht, beter schot, betere passing, techniesch beter etc.)
(al vind ik V. Basten beter dan Gullit, echter komt Rijkaard te kort!)

At 1:38 probably the only goal that I've seen that was scored 100% with the brain. van Basten doesn't look where the goalkeeper is and he knows that the defender is much closer to the ball than he is... one touch, marvellous.

Best first striker ever! He's matchless: complete, lethal and elegant as a swan. Maradona was not a first striker, neither Messi is (besides Messi still has a looong way to go before you can compare him to Maradona). Zidane was an offensive midfielder.
Ronaldo (the Brazilian, of course,) might have been quicker but not necessarily more nimble and agile. Moreover, Marco was much more complete than the Brazilian whose headers were never at the level of his shots.

yeah but Ronaldo's dribbling and ball control were better than Van Basten's, pretty much only Maradona has a say in dribbling and Zidane in ball control. And Ronaldo's finishing is perfect, nowadays, he takes 3 shots, 2 are goals, one hits the post.

I totally agree. This guy had such an elegance...I saw him in the 80's on Dutch Television when he played for Ajax. Absolutely marvellous player, he had everything. It's such a pity that he had to end his career that early due to a serious ankle injury.

Did you forgot players like: Pele, Di Stefano, Puskas, Rivellino, Beckenbauer, Garrincha, Zidane, Zico, Eusebio, Platini, Romario, Ronaldo, G Best, R. Baggio, Gullit... (I bet you don't know 50% of these legends).

great when he played for real also di stefano they are legends but the game has changed aswell as the people and a guy like bergkamp and kluivert and even del pierro(same age) they can still play a high level and come on gullit was oke but not great and remember baggio wow great player (accept for the penalty against brazil) zidane wow he was awesome romario and ronaldo both good but didn't make the team play better

Bergkamp, was geen #10. maar een 2 spits. Zijn scoringsgemiddelde is: 0,30. Dat is mediocre! hij scoorde 6 goals in 37 Europa Cup wedstrijden!!
Ikweet dat Bergkamp niet gerenommeerd is om zijn vele goals, maar de schoonheid daarvan, zijn techniek en korte passing
mijn punt: Bergkamp geen killer instinct, geen loop vermogen, geen diepgang, geen snelheid, fysiek niet sterk.

Das dus gewoon gelul! Bergkamp was een hangende spits, vooral bij Arsenal, dus het was niet zijn taak om de goals te maken, maar om ze voor te bereiden. Dat deed hij dus ook elke wedstijd. Ik denk dat Bergkamp een van de hoogste assists-gemiddelden had in Europa toen hij nog speelde. Als jeg mij niet gelooft, geloof Thierry Henry dan maar:
"Dennis is the best player I have ever played with as a partner. It is a dream for a striker to have him in the team with you."
En hij kan het weten!

Ten 2'de: Hij had niet 1 van de hoogste assist gemiddelden. Tevens had Bergkamp meer moeten scoren als- Maradona, Rivaldo, Zico, Cubillas, R. Baggio etc.

1) Jongen, je kan Bergkamp toch niet met Maradona verglijken? Dan kun je net zo goed zeggen, dat Pelé niet zo goed kon verdedigen als Beckenbauer. Maradona, Cubillas, Zico en Rivaldo speelden niet dezelfde positie als Bergkamp, dus dat argument is nutteloos.
2) Jawel, hij had WEL één van de hoogste assist gemiddelden, dat is pas en ´keihard feit'. Ken jeg facts voordat je begint te diskutiëren.

Summa summarum: Bergkamp is absoluut één var den beste voetballers ooit. Geen wonder dat hij tot nu toe de enige Nederlander in de Premier League Hall Of Fame is. Volgens mij, en vele andere, is Bergkamp in ieder geval in de top 5 van beste Nederlandse voetbal spelers ooit, sammen met Cruijff, Van Basten, Wilkes en Lenstra.

Mijn kennis van de geschiedenis van voetbal is prima, daar hoef ik mij niet verder in te verdiepen. Cubillas was een middenvelder, Maradona een aanvaller púr sang, Zico een middenvelder en Rivaldo een buitenspeler. Voor de laatste keer: BERGKAMP WAS EEN SCHADUWSPITS. Het was dus zijn rol om de aanvallers met ballen te voeden. Dat werd Cruijff later in z'n carriere ook. En over die Hall Of Fame: wat dan med Van Nistelrooy? Mühren? Davids? Van der Sar?

Rivaldo is een aantal jaar door V. Gaal op de linksbuiten gezet. voor het 4-3-3 systeem. Maar bij Brazilie en in andere jaren speelde hij als aanvallende middenvelder.

Bergkamp werd opgenomen toen hij nog speelde, en Van der Sar komt er ook wel. V. Nistelrooy en Mühren niet tot de absolute wereldtop? Ken jij je geschiedenis maar eens beter... Gullit was (toen hij bij Chelsea speelde) absoluut een van de betere spelers in de Premier League, en dat weet ik, omdat ik toen in Engeland woonde.

Jamaar lieve jongen, je kunt wel allemaal namen gaan opritsen, en die ken ik ook wel allemaal, maar wat is het nut? Ik heb helemaal geen ongelijk, dus waarom zal ik dat toegeven? Jij weet niet of jij veel ouder bent dan ik, maar het feit dat jij woorden als 'dombo' gebruikt wijst ergens anders op.
Gullit was in zijn Chelsea tijd echt wel een van de betere spelers in de Premier League, dat valt niet eens tot discussie. Mühren is waarschijnlijk de meest ondergewaardeerde Nederlandse voetbalspeler alle tijden, want die man was een genie. Vraag de Ipswich en Manchester United fans maar..

Trouwens, goals maak je als team. Henry en Wright waren dankzij Bergkamp zulke prolifische spitsen. Vooral Henry heeft veel aan Bergkamp te danken.

Wat een bullshit hieronder. Menig spits is jaloers op de doelpuntengemiddeldes van van Nistelrooy, dus het is echt idioot om te stellen dat hij niet absolute wereldtop is. Daarnaast ben je echt niet objectief als je Bergkamp geen wereldtop vindt.
Rijkaard en van Basten waren allebei beter dan Gullit trouwens (Ik hoef niet de band van het WK in 1990 erbij te halen, ofwel?).
Daarnaast, ga even ergens anders doen alsof je 90 bent. Mannen van 90 zeggen geen dombo.

zou jij V Nistelrooy, in de top 50 beste aller tijd rekenen, nee toch! Bergkamp maakt wel kans daarin echter zal hij in de onderste regionen plaatsvinden. Dus zijn zij beide geen ''Absolute Wereldtop''.

nee.. maar absolute wereldtop vind ik spelers die de allerbeste van hun tijd zijn geweest. Spelers uit andere tijdperken met elkaar vergelijken is toch zinloos.
Ik wist niet dat Gullit toen net hersteld was van een knieblessure, mijn fout. En de geschiedenis weet ik wel, maar bijna elke eindronde waaraan Nederland meedoet, heeft zo zijn geschiedenis. Dat doet niks af aan mijn punt hoor.. Ik vond Gullit heel goed, maar van Basten en Rijkaard waren wel beter.

Ferdinand is zeker 1 van de beste 20 verdedigers aller tijden, en absoluut 1 van de 3 beste verdedigers van het afgelopen deccenia.
75% van V. Basten's goals waren assits van Gullit, Gullit was verdedigend bijna net zo goed als Rijkaard, Rijkaard had enkel een betere overzicht, op alle andere fronten was Gullit beter (bijv: sneller, sterker, beter in de lucht, beter schot, betere passing, techniesch beter etc.)
(al vind ik V. Basten beter dan Gullit, echter komt Rijkaard te kort!)
