10 months since my last comment in here. It's sad times we live in, times without Santoro competing at the professional level.
I take my hat off in front of the the magician! He was the last of his kind, a player who will be missed dearly in times when athleticism batters fun, trickery and filigree off the court.
everyone made a fuss when fed did the tweener pass against Djokovic at the us open 2009, but you can see at the end there exactly where fed learned that one!!
One'd be foolish to rally with Santoro. He can go on forever until one drops. Best way is to simply overpower him by hitting big winners. Risky of course. Better than being jerked around the court only to lose the point at the 25th strokes.
Being a Santoro-fan is not about wanting him to win every tournament, because he is such a special guy that just seeing him play, even against way stronger opponents (in terms of hitting the ball and being athletic), is such a wonderful experience. He probably is the most giftet player on tour in terms of really PLAYING tennis. In the joyfull meaning of the word.
and therefore many players openly admit not liking to play against him. His style is so different to others. When you have that knuckle ball coming at you over and over and over, its not easy to get your game in, not easy man.
I can't believe people are commenting in such a negative way about this guy, he is truly great to watch and a gentlemen on the tour. He entertained wherever he went and pleased a lot of people along the way. All of those who have been less than polite about him, how about you pic up a racquet and see how far you get :):)
Thanks for the great highlights Fabrice and good luck in whatever you choose to do with the rest of your life
Maybe he hasn't been the best player but his tennis was the more interesting, and the nicest! It's always a pleasure to watch him playing, too bad he's gonna retire, his tennis will remain Unik, for our eye and senses pleasure!
Ps: sorry for my english, you know what we say: "french sucks at english"
Thank you, Fabrice Santoro. Seeing you play tennis as a pro for 20 years is a whole experience. Anyone who sees you play wouldn't be just an spectator. That's why speaking about you is speaking about oneself. It's beyond sport.
Santoro is very funny hahaha. Greetings for him!!

The most amazing play I saw from him was against Blake at the US Open, cramping so badly he couldn't run and still winning games by serving aces.

That game vs nalnadian...., Nalbandian finally won the game 75 60 60 so it means, since that play, he went 16-1 for Nalbandian!!!
