Also check barry miles and silverlight or jus Barry miles group. He's another minimoog power house musician! And also check the early george duke stuff and when he was with the duke & cobham group!! You can't go wrong there, plenty of minimoog solo that's everywhere. I had the same problem with my minimoog key. I took it to big city music to get it repaired. There legit and that's were I bought my moog. Man talk about a store that had 23 moogs under one roof along with other vintage synths!
Hey, I love Camel and a HUGE Kit fan, but I have to say that Kit's moog work with Happy The Man is my favorite. Carousel, Knee Bitten Nymphs, Stumpy Meets The Firecracker, Footwork, Run Into The Ground and on and on. His solos Labyrinth and In Time are faves too, but the sounds are phatter in HTM and Camel. I love Moraz and Hammer too - don't forget Chick Corea!
Try listening to the Moog solo by Watkins off of Camels " I Can See Your House From Here" ..The title is Ice and considered by many to be the penultimate song from them...If you really want to hear the best Moog has to offer listen to early Camel and Peter Bardens...
Thanks for posting this. I wrote the article for Keyboard Magazine from which this setting came.
Actually, chizmo7 is right--you're not quite there. Try Happy the Man - 03 - Upon the Rainbow (Befrost)--1:22 is the starting point for the Minimoog solo.
Kit's sound was as singular as that of Jan Hammer's or Patrick Moraz's settings, and still gives me great listening pleasure--thanks for trying to tackle this!
Actually the same thing happened to me with my Yamaha Motif ES: the key got stuck, and I could lift it back up, and then getting stuck again afterwards. It kept getting worse.
Turned out part of the key was broken and had to be replaced.
I think it's cool you mentioned Kit Watkin's name and his association with the mini, but by your demo, one would have NO idea how Kit sounded using the mini.
For those interested, his band was called "happy the man" and I think you can still get remastered c.d.s from amazon.
Thanks for the patch. Kit Watkins is one of the most underrated talent on this planet.

What suckes even more is most mini techs out there are crooks. Good luck even finding one that has a functioning brain.

If you want to hear Kit Watkins, search for "Happy the man" "steaming pipes". Minimoog solo starts at 1:30 into the song.

You will be changed by this music.

Yea, the key popped back out, but still makes a clicking type noise when I hit it. I guess it is missing padding or something.

Hope you got your key fixed.........

Don't say mooooooog (like a cow would do).
Moog rhymes with "vogue" or "rogue"... the man itself has said it.

Yeah, Bob said it's supposed to be prononuced like vogue but he prefers it as mooooog.
