  • I was told those Volvo cabs were not sold in North America... That it was Europe and Asia design mainly.

Wonder why so many newer Volvos has the more rounded cab anyway...?!?!

I've driven a rearloader on same chassis/cab. Perfect height, roll down the window and open the bin as you pass it to see if it's empty ;-)

  • i think you are right because this was the first model FE volvo i have seen. I think they may be rounded so its more aerodynamic. Idk though. thanks

  • The cab model has been known as the FL model in Europe since the 90s I believe.

You can see a row of them in my vid (insert /watch?v=Py7AS3f46BY last in the browser adress) or my FL6 walkaround at /watch?v=oFs-Ar5jwfs

I don't remember if the newer Renault/Volvo shared cabs are called FE over here...(?)

  • yer the 18-26 tonners are Fe below 18 is FL they have the Renault Premium cabs also seen on Daf,s LF that is the post 2006 ones

  • Yes, I finally remembered to look at Volvos HP. I'm actually surprised that even the FM model goes to 100 tonne train weight. I don't recall any european countries allowing more than 60 tonnes in road trains...

I also see that you just have to go to Mexico to get a cabover Volvo with the new FE-cab.

  • great video, almost like a toy!

  • yea its tiny! thanks!

  • How's this for an excellent find?! I remember Scott sending me pics of this truck a while ago, but I never expected to actually see it in action = neat as! I wonder if this is some kind of custom built truck, or do they actually make this size? Funny how the hopper is twice the size of the body, like a lizard without it's tail lol Guess it doesn't have to be too big if the place is small... suppose handy when you have to reverse out of those tight lanes too. Great video! 5* + faved!

  • Thanks!! and yea its perfect for this area. its look weird but cool!

  • LOL Awesome find!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I saw this exact truck while I was there and from a distance I thought I heard him tipping a bin, but saw some construction equipment instead (so assumed it wasn't what I thought), and then I see him turning out of a parking lot and was so pissed I couldn't get him in action! But I'm glad somebody did!! I've got pics of this truck on flickr and can also email them to you if you want.
