@gday11111 the conclusion of the ad + Kiwi is in no way similar. the awesome 'Kiwi' clip can't be the only media to ever tackle the plight of the flightless bird. This is clearly another angle.

Actually the creative team had conceptualised this ad nearly 2 years ago. In fact they were completely unaware of any such ad until it was brought to our attention some weeks ago. So in fact our ad predates the Kiwi commercial by a long shot.
@gday1111111 As an agency we are committed to an ethical work process that would never abide copying or imitating any ad. We'd have to be pretty foolish to choose to 'copy' an award winning ad like the Kiwi ad. But as you say, people will have to make up their own minds and decide.
In the case of the Cadbury Ostrich ad, we are personifying the animal himself attempting to capture a pure moment of joy, a brief experience of a few seconds when he transforms himself from a flightless animal into a regular bird. The ostrich is taking on a very human ambition to enjoy this moment of freedom and spontaneity, combined with a very liberal dose of humor and exaggeration. We're clearly playing in the land of dreams and fantasy.
@jiralodonte While their might be a superficial similarity between the two ads since they both feature flightless birds flying, they are distinctly different.
@Goldenleaf123 While their might be a superficial similarity between the two ads since they both feature flightless birds flying, they are distinctly different. The one attempts to dramatize one man's interpretation of what a kiwi bird might want to experience. n the case of the Cadbury Ostrich ad, we are personifying the animal himself attempting to capture a pure moment of joy, a brief experience of a few seconds when he transforms himself from a flightless animal into a regular bird.

I want to like it....but I'm afraid this is a total rip-off from Hondas Impossible Dream - same music build, same gag at the end (replace the balloon ascent with the parachute)
how come you mark certain comments as spam just because you don't like what the person is saying? people are allowed to say what they think. and if they think some "kiwi bird" ad is better then let them. let people be the judge!
hahahaha, ostrich's cant fly... i get it c:

Great ad, visually stimulating and quite original. Keeps you wanting to see the end concept and makes a subtle but powerful product tie in.

It keeps you watching, highly original concept. I couldn't take my eyes off the ostrich and wondering what the f is he up to?

The sheer number of people noticing the similarity speaks for itself.
I doubt you could look the creator of 'Kiwi' in the eye and say the parallels are a coincidence (assuming you had a hand in making this).
To me it's obvious the idea was seen as a success and somebody thought it would be a good way to sell some chocolate.
But whatever let everyone see the two videos and make up their own minds.
