Most of the games Matt played in were in the 4th quarter when the game was out of reach. When considering Favres greatness, you have to count both. Without the melt downs at the end of the year he was best ever. With Favre's GB teams, or Peyton Manning's Colts teams, those QB's had to play great, or their teams would lose. That was not really the case with this year's GB team. The only time those 2 HOF QB's actually won Super Bowls is when they had very good D's behind them. Great QB's do not win Super Bowls, only complete TEAMS win SB's, just ask Dan Marino and Trent Dilfer.

Rodger's works harder and makes fewer mistakes, especially fewer game blowing mistakes. Rodgers has the Highest passer rating ever and the Highest post season rating ever. While Favre was phenomenal at times, he was also catastrophic at times. When considering Favres greatness, you have to count both. Without the melt downs at the end of the year he was best ever. But with them, he is only about 15th among all the QBs for the last 20 years.

Pretty sure the Packers Defense made more game winning plays in this season than in Favre's entire 20 year career combined. With Favre's GB teams, or Peyton Manning's Colts teams, those QB's had to play great, or their teams would lose. That was not really the case with this year's GB team. The only time those 2 HOF QB's actually won Super Bowls is when they had very good D's behind them. Great QB's do not win Super Bowls, only complete TEAMS win SB's, just ask Dan Marino and Trent Dilfer.

continued-This can be done by averaging +24 in 8 wins and -4 in 8 losses. Seem far fetched? They almost did this the past year. The Pack need more balance overall. Rodgers needs to work the backs into the short passing game and get it to them. Rodgers biggest flaw that I see right now is that he's not great at getting the short valve passes to the running backs. We need to own the whole field.
Anyway, in another vid on youtube Lynn Dickey pretty much nails 2008-"the defense STUNK".

Updated-It's beyond great that the Pack got SB 45 salted away. But this video addresses the same type of issues in 2010 that we had in 2008 - inconsistency and losing close games. After, the last two years the Pack have the second best point differential in the league, but only managed a 5th then a 6th seed. Winning big and losing small is dangerous. The Pack almost didn't make the playoffs at all in 2010. It's not too far fetched to imagine a +160 point differential and be 8-8 next year.

Excellent video. I think when all is said and done Rodgers will be considered a more effective, if not better qb than Favre. Rodger's works harder and makes fewer mistakes, especially fewer game blowing mistakes. Favre has big numbers, but he played for a long time and threw too many picks and blew too many games that should have been won. That said Brett still had many great years as a Packers qb.

@Synicaalescape I think all of Favre total career stats are incredible, but since Rodgers is only in his 3rd season it is only reasonable to compare the first 3 seasons of each. Now, by just comparing those seasons Rodgers is clearly on his way to surpassing Favre. I mean, Favre didn't even make it into the playoffs until his 5th season and in Rodger's 3rd the Packers are already going to the Superbowl.

Rodgers now has the highest QB rating of all time... and in his one playoff game he played as well or better than Favre ever played in a playoff game (45 points is more than the Favre-led Packers ever scored in a playoff game, on the road no less). At this point, everyone has realized that the Packers made the right decision after the 2007 season.
