Funny....I just bought this printer today, because I was looking for a scanner, and as usual, it's cheaper to buy the all-in-one then just the scanner itself. Mine came with the USB cable too, although it's quite short. I'd say it works alright, especially for $30.

i have this printer installed on xp....on same network i use win7..and i shared this printer with win7.but i can only print it with windows drivers and i tried to install HP drivers on win7 to scan and print with these drivers but it still just prints..i cant check ink levels cant scan.it says HP deskjet 1050 not found...plz help

Remember that Printers without WiFi equipped don't come with the USB cable! Only the printers with WiFi have USB cords in the box.

@sinner8269 With the new ink cartridges, turn the printer off and there should be a little hatch in the front of where the paper is printer from,

Pull that down and Pull the old cartridges out of there place and insert the new cartridges in the same position of the ones you took out. If all goes well you hear a loud snap / click sound meaning the cartridge is supported by the plastic.

@ps2ps11 You can use a standard A to B usb cable, most probably can find one in your internet router box or from other external pc devices such as a External hard drive.

heres how the cable looks like a fat square usb to a normal usb end

@Kvuz13 I didn't buy the USB from a physical store, but online. Many websites online will sell the cable that you need, just search USB Printer cable, and find the cheapest one. Your best choices are probably Amazon or Ebay.
