its easy to get a horse to do if the horse is trained right for showmanship. the horse should be watching your shoulder, you lean back he should stop, you lean forward he should go, you square your shoulders to him he should back...your body language tells him what to do, my old showmanship horse was really good at watching me thats why he did so well.
Wow thats neat--- my horse will setup and turn w/o the halter, but as soon as he realizes that i don't have a hold of him he turns and runs the other way. lol......
Thanks. She's a good girl. I taught it to her when she was 3, and she was showable by that summer (we had been working for about 2 months) and it took until the beginning of her 4 year old year to be able to do it as well as you see here. The video was taken June of her 4 year old year.
the first horse i rode candy shes a 8yr old app mare that has her rom in western, trail, english, horsemanship, and i think eq. but not sms or halter shes not wide enogh but me and her did that all the time she got sold but i ran and she loped right beside me she doesnt trust the new owner just me
and get this she acted lame at a show for tony ( the new owner ) but when we checked her she wasnt lame nothing wrong with her we got 5 vets @ the show to look at her i paid for it myself cause if there was somethin wrong i wasnt lettin candy go in pain and she ride horrible with him and everybody but me

F*cking BEAUTIFUL! It's a shame that you can ride with out tack in freestyle reigning but there isn't anything for we freestyle showmanship people!

Just amazing. One of my favorite YouTube videos. I like how your cues/body positions are so clear.
