There is a common miss-perception about MvC2 being dominated by infinites. Those are just loops, because they usually only last to 40-50 hits due to the dizzy system detecting the infinite and breaking it. There are 100% combos in marvel, but most of them aren't very practical due to the amount of meter you need. Remember you have 3 characters so that's actually a 33% combo...
@Shwaffles1 true but those loops don't require a full meter and three chances to not get hit by those is acceptable but your still at a great disadvantage especially when they have all the characters that have the ability to either use or at least create infinite loops
What I don't get is that you hate high damage, and yet you play VF and Tekken which are high damage games. There are practical combos in VF that would make tekken players cringe. Your still at a great disadvantage after being juggled in those games so why is marvel getting different treatment?
I was mostly laughing at your impression that T6, and SF4 are more skillful games than MvC2, because you are rewarded for playing like shit. AKA rage system and ultras. VF has other problems.
@Shwaffles1 tekken 6 has juggles but its not like their infinite's like mvc2.i don't see what you mean when you say t6 and sf4 rewards you for playing like shit cause it doesn't. if you get beat by a scrub that button mashes and does random moves then that's YOUR fault not the game. if you don't like them more power to you but i like and play them so really couldn't care less what you think. virtua fighter makes you play defensivly because of the high damage scaling and tekken is always tekken
MvC2 does not use real infinites at the highest level. Ironman has a practical 100% combo, but it's not an infinite.
When I said that T6 and SF4 reward you for playing bad, I meant that about ultras and rage system. How do you obtain ultras and activate rage? You lose life. When you lose life, it's due to you making mistakes. If you gain extra meter or increased damage from making mistakes, then the game rewards you for playing badly. My beef with VF is that the cast is homogenized.
@Shwaffles1 its called making a comeback. its an interesting setup for when people get caught in traps and combos. i find it interesting cause it works and if you lose because of it when you had them at such low health then like i said its YOUR fault not the game
No, it's called giving the losing player a comeback. The only problem I have with ultras and the rage system is the way they are obtained. The only way to access these mechanics is lose life which means you have to make mistakes. It's a reward for sucking. It's a just a crutch that promotes bad play and creates artificial comebacks. Anything that rewards bad play is not a good thing. End of story.
There are no mechanics in MvC2 that reward you for sucking.
@superiorintellectual Lol Iron man is one of the cheapest, his infinite is the easiest infinite in the game to pull off with zero skill, even *I* can pull it off and I'm terrible at performing infinites.

It's usually the people who don't know anything who think that execution is the be-all end-all measure of "skill" for a fighting game...

@superiorintellectual Sounds like you're a newb.
MvC2 is not for newbs. Unskilled players like you need to be quiet.

@Archedgar it kind of is if you need to use infinite combos to win, try a more skillful game like sf4, vf5, or tk6
