Well yeah, he's Andre Agassi. Best backhand and return of serve of all time. Then again, Roger Federer has pretty much best everything of all time except serve.
Yes, having played him I think so too (just kidding). I would assume its very difficult to read considering how many freebies he gets on it in pressure situations.
To some degree that was a product of the match's sheer length: Fed had 37 service games to reach that total (6 in the 1st, 4 in the 4th, 6 in the 2nd and 3rd, 15 in the 5th); counting in the two tiebreaks, he had about 1.3 aces per game. Still, I'd say his serve is Top 5 all-time, at least. Just like everything else in his arsenal.
And it's notable that that total is the highest number of aces ever served in a WINNING effort. That says "clutch" to me, for sure.
@Samprasisthebest In my opinion, Agassi has the best return of serve ever, Nadal has the best forehand of all time, Sampras has the best serve and the best volleys of all time, Roger has the best one-handed back hand of all time, and finally, Andre has the best 2 handed backhand of all time. That combination would be my all-time combo.
@mousavsm i would say sampras: best serve/volleys, federer: best forehand and just skill/imagination, nadal: speed/fitness, nalbandian: best 2 handed backhanded, gasquet: one hand backhand. but i think federer is the best ever
@splendid1000 If you need further elaboration then just watch him play a bit more. When he's on, his forehand is unreal. Why do you think he runs around his backhand like no other player I've ever seen in history? His forehand is punishing. At the moment, he's not playing that great and skill getting to finals (what, like 5-6 in a row?). When he's in form, that forehand is absolutely deadly and opens the whole court for him.
@Samprasisthebest You mean except serve, backhand and return of serve? I though you said Agassi had those. So Fed has the best forehand, slice, volleys, overhead, drop shot, lob, and movement? Surely Samprasisn'tthebest.

And really his server isn't that far behind alot of the greats either.

Yeah, really only Sampras among the all time greats has a serve noticeably better than Rog's.

Sampras is the best overall server, but Fed hit 50 aces in Wimby final, not bad.
