Stewartx5, i think your underestimating the snow and steepness of the hill, if it took 2 defenders, nearly 30 seconds of wheel spinning before being able to shift it, then it needs a bit more than "a little extra traction" You are correct that most 4x4s could do it, given enough of them and strong rope i recon you could have moved it with freelanders, (4 min though) On the plus side, Defenders rock! 2.4tdci 90 xs would be lovely, but would ruin me as well! lol
Oh, come on. Be serious. All the Land Rovers did was add a little extra traction to the larger truck's spinning tyres (tires), not actually pull the load of that truck alone. In other words, the equivalent of one or two people pushing a much heavier car stuck in snow or mud. Any SUV or 4x4 could have done the same, in either case.
Brilliant! 2 defenders working as a team. 75% of all defenders ever built are still on the road. Amazing. I have one, a 1985 90. I don't think it likes oil - keeps spitting it out...
superb you never know when you might need a tow out ..when i had my range was always helping .....nice to see the aa in the background standing doing nowt lol
nah these will be good for a few thousand miles yet....it was only a wee bread van they were pulling. wait til the cement truck comes, then it might strain them a bit
yes but when there is no other way to take the truck out is a clutch a price whit you can life... i hope you understand my english sorry i ´can not speak better :) i'm from switzerland
Would have been easy with some snow chains, although I admit never have them around when I need them, probably the same here. Still nice to see LR owners with community spirit as ever and showing that the cars and owners can do the job! Like the Jeep sneeking off in the background?
i was waiting for the one in the middle to get riped apart

well, not really, it actually took 2 land rovers to pull out the 1 lorry, nearly done it with just the green one.
